I will get some pictures tonight.  I have a Scotty GoLo CS and a few other centershaft putters at my place upstate that I can use for comparison.

Finally got home from the office and was able to grab these from the 20 or so putters I have at my place in the Catskills.




From left to right are a Scotty GoLo S, O Works 2 M CS, Spider Tour CS, O Works 7 and a Toulon Indy.

The three on the left are all no offset CS putters and only the Scotty is not a face balanced putter. Just shows that shape has a larger impact on toe flow as opposed to just shaft placement alone. The O Works 7 is normally a face balanced mallet but the Black has a slant neck and hence adds some toe hang. The Toulon Indy is just a large heel shafted mallet that is face balanced.

These two putters are very similar is shape with the Scotty as again a CS model while the Odyssey Big T 5 is heel shafted. One is face balanced and the other is not. Again more on shape at balance of the head than shaft position.

Thanks a lot. That is really interesting to see. I would have never thought that there were that many center shafted putters with toe hang.

To add even more to this I found a Spider Red hanging around the house. Both are the exact same head in terms of size shape and weight. One is center shaft and the other has a slant neck. Sometimes just changing the neck makes all the difference.



The bad part for me is I found a golf bag in the closet that had some putters in it that I didn’t even realize I had up here. I may need to downsize my putter stable.

While the one is heel shafted, the double bend shaft actually would intersect the head toward the center. To see this , use a string and extend it down the shaft from the grip and see where the shaft would intersect if the bend wasn’t there.

In the world of plumbers necks, a longer plumbers neck putter will have less toe hang than one
With a shorter neck even though the attachment point to the head is the same.

Have to follow the shaft, not the actual connection point.

@Jmikecpa thanks for the pictures. Seeing the actual differences helps greatly.  Funny how one little design difference can affect the physics in similar putters.
