How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score?

This is really my third year of golf.  I had golfed in my early 20's, but stopped for quite some time.   I'm 45 now, and really enjoy getting out.  I think my official HC is 31, but on any given day can trend into the 20's.

What do you love about golf?

Just getting out on the course and challenging yourself to be better than you really are.   The community, being able to golf with friends, meet new people at the course.

What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies?

The community.  I am friends with @Preeway and golf together when I can.

Where are you from? What is your home course?

Omaha, NE.  I guess I'd consider Stone Creek Golf Course as my home course.

What are the best and worst things about golf in your region?

In the Spring it rains, in the Summer its hot, in the Fall its windy, in the Winter its not possible.  But those seasons when its in, it can be really good.  Lush, green courses.

What do you do for a living?

Technology Product Manager for a large construction company

How’d you pick your user name?

Been my nickname for years

Welcome to the Forum! I doubt anyone will hold knowing @Preeway against you...🤣

How long have you been playing golf?

I started playing at 13, played in High School. Then didn't get much playing done in college or after, a few rounds a year. Got back into it pretty heavy a few years ago.

What’s your handicap or normal score?

13.7 right now, shoot mid-80 - low 90s depending on the day. Broke 80 twice last year!

What do you love about golf?

Mind clearing, the only thing on my mind is the ball, the shot in front of me, etc. Also, that at any point I could hit a world class shot, hard to do that in about any other sport. Constantly chasing those high moments and working to improve, but there is not reaching the top.

What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies?

Love the information / data on this site. Just recently discovered the forum. I don't know any other Spies, that I know of.

Where are you from? What is your home course?

I am from South Dakota, live in Sioux Falls, and currently play a lot of Elmwood and Prairie Green. Also get to the great life course of Willow, Bakker, and Rocky Run from time to time.

What are the best and worst things about golf in your region?

Best thing is the people and our summers are great. Worst is the season is short, unpredictable, and windy.

What do you do for a living?

I make beer.

How’d you pick your user name?

It's my name.

Hi my name Is Kameron Rush. I currently reside in Lincoln Ne. I picked up golf last September when a buddy introduced me to the game (knee injury forced basketball to stop). I believe my handicap would be around 24 or 25. I shoot 96-99 normally my best is 92.

Golf has given me an excellent way to compete with myself. Also love juggling on the wedge. I kept seeing my golf spy on Instagram decided to check it out. My home course is probably Jim Ager par 3 it's small but great short game work I love being able to grab my pw and play the whole course with one club.

I'm good at wedge dribbling

How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score?

I've played a few times throughout the years, but didn't actually try (sober) until a couple years ago. Golf is much easier when you only see 1 ball 🙂 My handicap is around 10. I image that's where it'll stay. I'm not a fan of chasing scores, I'll leave that stress for the pros.

What do you love about golf?

I love the wide range of people that play the game. I also love the analytics and details that make up every part of the game. I could talk about those 2 categories for a lifetime.

What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies?

A friend got into golf this season and is absolutely killing it! I've watched the MGS vids, but didn't know about the forums (website, etc) until he mentioned it. I'm hoping to gain more insight from folks who nerd-out over the details like me.

Where are you from? What is your home course?

I'm from all over, but have lived in Lincoln Nebraska since 2010-ish. My home course is this little par-3, Jim Ager GC. Amazing staff and the groundskeeper does an amazing job.

What are the best and worst things about golf in your region?

The best has to be the people, but I might be a bit biased for the Midwest. The worst is the midwest weather. I might sound like goldilocks, but it's either too hot or too cold!

What do you do for a living?

I'm retired military, but I've picked up a few jobs. I work at Jim Ager GC, which is incredible fun to see youth golf, college students, and the weekend warriors. I work for Herostock, a Veteran support organization & I work at a local gym as an admin and pt.

How’d you pick your user name?

My user name came about from a book in the early 1800's. A story about a wondering golfer with a disdain for his father and his shoe shine profession. He was working as a pool-boy to earn money to play in the US Open, but his father forbid it...just kidding, the name was convenient.

Hey everyone, figured this was the most logical place for my first post on the forum.

I  started this season (2024) after years of interest and golf video games.  I don't have an official handicap yet but in the couple of rounds I have played of 9 hole par 3's I am shooting around a 40 while I figure out the fundamentals. (Putting has so far been my Achilles' heel.

Golf is great for me since I have some medical issues that don't allow me to be as athletic as  used to be while still giving me an excuse to get out there and enjoy the courses and do something physical. It's also great that I have somehow convinced my wife to go with me so the quality time out there hitting balls is always nice!

MyGolfSpy provided me some SUPER valuable articles in the very beginning of my life as a golfer and I just stuck with it as I continued on. I can neither confirm or deny knowing any other spies however.

I am from Littleton CO and my current "home course" is Harvard Gulch.

Best thing about golf in my region is that there are so many options for golf, practice, and equipment. The worst thing about my region is definitely going to be the region and the decently long off-season.

I am a photographer by trade but it is slowly going by the wayside with so many capable personal devices on the market. Cell phones and Go-pros have really made photography something that everyone can do and I don't hate that idea. Currently I am setting up a YouTube channel to document my journey from no experience to "scratch golf" so I have been focusing on that as I get my fundamentals in order. I have also been dabbling in golf club repair, restoration, and customization so maybe some of that on the side.

I picked my username as it fit the bill. After a longer than I would like to admit brainstorming session I settled on Ace Apprentice and I like it given the fact that I am still very much in the fledgling stages of learning this lifetime sport.

On a personal quest to go from no experience to "scratch golf" in as little time as possible while still having the maximum amount of fun I can.

Welcome aboard!  You should definitely deny knowing any other Spies here (just in front of the wife 😆)  but MGS is a sacred place as well!

Hello all,

Long time follower of mygolfspy but just joined! So welcome to my first post.

1. I got my first clubs when I was a kid but didn't actually step foot on a golf course until college, since then I've been hooked and playing for about 10 years now. I don't have an official handicap but I typically shoot in the low to mid 80s.

2. My favorite part of golf is the comradery. Being out there with friends and having a few drinks is hard to beat. I'm also competitive so throw in there that even a friendly match is still technically a competition and I'm all in.

3. Like I said I've followed Mygolfspy for awhile now and routine use the site to look up reviews and specs but never joined. But that has changed now! Getting the notifications of new stuff happening and being able to pick the brains of you all will benefit me tremendously I think, and maybe I can help you as well.

4. Originally from NW Missouri but currently living in the Manhattan, KS area, my home course is Stagg Hill Golf Club where I am a member.

5. The best thing about golf in my area is we do have a pretty good selection of courses and typically you can golf for at least about 9 months out of the year. On the flip side the worse part of this region is although there are a lot of courses several are in terrible shape due to poor management or the fact they get played so much and so hard.

6. I am a safety professional.

7. My username was just an easy one to remember sorry no cool story behind it.

So there is my intro to the forum and hope to speak with you all more. Always looking for tips and tricks so feel free to send them my way. Thank you all!

Taylormade loyalist, except the putter gotta trust the ping karsten zing.

How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score? I had played alot when younger.  Things get in the way, kids money, working on a career.  Now that my kids are HS age and I am settled into my career, I have found myself playing or practicing as much as possible these last couple years.

What do you love about golf? The Challenge.  I would consider myself one of those guys that is usually pretty good at any sport I do, but golf is equal parts fun and frustrating.  I think that is what makes it click for me.

What brings you to MyGolfSpy? I have been looking at reviews for a long time, but finally decided to join and contribute.

Where are you from?  Sioux City Iowa.

What are the best and worst things about golf in your region?  We have many courses close by.  Most of the courses are kept in great shape.  I guess I cannot really comment on the worst things in my region because they are all gripes that everyone has anywhere.

What do you do for a living? Sales
