Thin2win
I hit these this weekend at a golf show/demo event. Wow. There are pictures out there, but if you are looking for a club in the players distance category this year... you have to try these. Best feel/sound from a hollow/hollow-filled club I have tried. I'm sure Mizuno will win the category for the MGS testing, but these are really good. edingc, GolfSpy BOS and PMookie 3 Quote WITB: Driver: SIM2 Max 12° - Accra TZ6 M4 FW Wood: Gen5 0311 7w Fujikura Motore X F3 Irons: ZX7 PW-7i, ZX5 6i-5i Wedges: Zipcore 50°, 58° Putter: MySpider X Cart: Onewheel XR+ Ball: Z-Star Diamond/ Z-Star XV

GolfSpy BOS
I love my 2020 Forged Tec Irons, but I am curious to see what Cobra’s been cooking for this release. I haven’t seen them yet (I guess I’ll have to do a google search). They toned down the giant "KING" on the back of the club, and overall I felt like the blade length was fractionally shorter, but that could have just been a change in top line or finish to give me that opinion. hartrick11
From what I understand it is a slightly slimmed top line but otherwise similar dimensions/offset as the 2020 version. Hopefully they followed the King Tour MIM approach to the offset... to my eye they did a fantastic job of making those irons appear to have less than the stated numbers. Granny
Saw the heads today at PGA Superstore. The are available for pre-order 4/14. I saw the LTDx, 2022 FT and 2022 FTx side by side. I would say the top line varies about 1/16” between each club head. Look really good! I’m Still having problems with the lofts. They even had the FT-X One Length head. hartrick11
Saw the info on Cobras website… looks like the X model is similar to the older versions but with slightly stronger lofts. The FT carries the same lofts as prior iterations but with a bit less offset and smaller topline…the topline almost looks smaller than the MIM Tour in the pics. I think the two models should stand well independently but also blend easily; they should now appeal to a wider audience, similar to P790/P770, seems like a great approach. I would also bet that if they do bring the MIM Tour back it ends up being a bit smaller to provide a bit more differentiation vs the FT. sirchunksalot 1 Quote Driver: TSi 3 10* w/ Graphite Design AD IZ 7X Fairway/Hybrid: TSi 2 15* & 18* w/ Graphite Design AD IZ 7X, AD IZ 95X Irons: P790 4i, P770 5-7i, P7MC 8-P, $ Taper 120 Wedges: SM7 52F/54 S, 58 M w/ Modus 125 Putter: California Hollywood 34" Circle H

I have never been happier with a set of irons than I am with my MIM Tours. They just check every box for look at address to blade size to offset to top line and the performance is everything I could ask for. Probably have around 400 rounds played with them and have zero interest in comparable irons. ... That said, the Forged Tec is not a comparable iron and obviously a Players Distance iron so I am very interested to see how these compare to my old P790's that spun too little for hard and fast desert greens. But several things make the FT's an iron I will play: Greens around here have been watered more than previous seasons so they are holding better. I am not getting younger and a few extra yards would be appreciated, something like 5 more yds than my MIMs would be ideal. Also considering the FT's are forged from 1025 carbon steel, I expect them to be pretty soft, maybe not as soft as MIM's but hopefully very close. ... I should have a set by May and post an initial mini review as quickly as possible. I might add a Forged Tec X 4 iron as a DI since it is the same loft as the FT 3 iron. A little larger head with more forgiveness seems like an ideal candidate for a DI. Thin2win, bens197, cnosil and 5 others 8 Quote Driver: Qi10 10.5* ...
