Siamese Moose
I'll be getting new irons and wedges soon. I'm way past the MGS-recommended 75 rounds for wedges, and the irons were fit three surgeries ago. I will almost certainly get TM MG wedges again, but the lofts might be different to get the gapping right with whatever the lofts are on the irons. However, I'll almost certainly stick with 58° as my highest loft wedge, as I don't care how the full swing distance fits into any distance progression. The current irons are TM M3, and they've been OK, but not as consistent with distance as I think they should be. I now know they're rather notorious for hot spots. The putter was fit just over a year ago (Mizuno OMIO 1), and you'll have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands. My driver (Ping G410) is also safe, as my launch monitor numbers are still about perfect. My fairways (Cobra F9) are not fitted, but I'm pretty happy with them. I'll give the fitter a chance to knock them out of my bag, but I expect them to stay. My hybrid (Ping G430) was fit last Spring, and it's safe as well. Preeway
Well, my putter is now officially on the chopping block after being selected to test out the Odyssey Ai putter. If I were to switch to a 56° then I would probably start to consider throwing a 52° in there as well because of the wider gap from GW to SW. I’ve been playing the 54° for a couple seasons now and I like it, it’s just the tinkering aspect that I get in my head once in a while. TheRealKimKong
Unfortunately … over the winter there is no need to do any changes… Cobra Driver is set. Well, tbh… i got my hands on an Aeorjet LS 7.5° Driver Head and I couldn’t resist - so I am working on getting a feel for it. Coming from the LTDx LS in 9° and having my first 300m drive with it and driving my first Par 4s this season I am pretty confident I get this monster flying. Also clubhead speed is promising and going up 110 and some close to the 120 but control is still limited up there. Mizuno ST-Z 3+5 Wood is set Mizuno MP225 (3) 4-GW is set. Well and than there are maybe… the wedges. I have „just“ 49° (GW - MP225) + 56° (Mizuno T22) and I am thinking about adding 54 and 58 instead of just one wedge - but i love the 56°. I've struggled with 3 wood for the better part of 2 decades and finally found one I can hit reliably. Hybrids (I carry 3) are a possibility for replacement. I hit them well, particularly the 3, but I tend to get a little sloppy with dispersion. Instead of replacing them, I may opt for a shaft change. I'm swinging a little harder these days. IanCC
The only things on the block are my King Tec hybrids and whether I go back to fairways. I have 2h, 3h & 4h and swap in and out with the longer irons depending on conditions. That’d be a 5w and a 7w. With the TM BRNR I’ll never buy a three wood again. LTDx Max driver - safe unless the new one has a matt crown. TM BRNR mini driver - safe unless the used priced keeps on going up. What a nice club though. No idea why it was a limited run. 4-GW Forged Tec irons- super safe. Wilson Forged wedges - safe unless they wear out. I only carry 54 & 60. Would buy again. Wilson West Loop putter - Surprisingly good for the price. Sits well and feels great. Appreciate that’s two drivers, three hybrids, eight irons, two wedges and a putter but I chop and change at the overlaps so the 14 that take the field is super flexible. I need to decide on a summer ball as well. Srixon Ultisoft in the cold winter here but will go to something slightly firmer and with more spin when it warms up.
