Over the last 18 months I am down 50 lbs, and the side effects have all been very positive. Rooting for you. No golf for me today, sadly, but it's still a good day. Was greeted at the office this morning with deliveries of my "SPY" putter cover and a couple new wedges. Also, we are taking my oldest daughter and some friends to an Orville Peck concert tonight in Louisville, so that will be fun. That dude is one of the most unique country acts I have ever seen. I am not at all a country fan historically, but his music is great - like a bizarre cross of Elvis and Johnny Cash and I don't know what, but it really works. Would you believe the McDonald's between my gym and work had no coffee today? Odd, but I will survive. Kenny B Posted April 18, 2023 Share Posted April 18, 2023 Up at my regular 5am time. We got a rain storm last night (lasted about an hour), and now as usual the wind comes and drys it out. Also cooler at 43º and high will one get to 55º; chilly with a breeze at 15-30mph. Since next week is my wife's Rotary charity golf tournament at Canyon Lakes GC, I thought it would be a good idea to play this week to get use to the course again. It has big slopey greens that are generally faster than ours, so it will be a challenge. Wouldn't you know that today is the coolest, windiest day this week. But it's Senior Tuesday so we get the round at only $50 with a cart. I hope I break 90. Went to the range yesterday and apparently removed my head from some orifice and was hitting the ball SO much better (pics to follow later in the what/how did you practice thread). It's amazing what happens when you swing the club correctly!!!!!! Wishing I could be out playing today- but.......... At a 9-hole exec course we would shovel the greens on #1, 2, 4, 7, 8, and 9 and reroute the course. Play six holes and then sit in the clubhouse by the fire and drink... rinse and repeat for 18 holes. Yes, we had carts but no covers or heaters!! Looking forward to some warmer weather in the next couple days. @BIG STU congrats on the changes and taking those opportunities to get a little activity in. We have moved in that direction ourselves to just changes those small habits. On the mower front, I got the EGO battery operated one from someone who no longer needed it and it is great. Yes, walking keeps you warmer, but when it's that cold there is a tradeoff to consider. Everyone in their own cart will play faster than walkers, so we get to the warm clubhouse sooner for that drink!! I always wear wool socks... even in summer when it's 110º+.
