one question I have, and this will require you to play a round with the same chrome soft balls they provide. Are the balls with dots reading spin into a net as accurately as the same std ball on the course.

Nice and compact! Like to see how reliable it is for indoor vs. outdoor.  If it's relatively accurate I'd consider something like this to pull more real world performance stats.

The guys can answer this as they test the unit for sure, but my understanding is that the MLM2Pro will not read spin data for anything other than their special balls. No special balls, no spin data.

I can definitely try that, I'm not sure how easy it would be to set up the rapsodo for each on course shot, we love to play first light tee times.

I hope on a colder morning with no one behind me, I can use the range setting to play a full round with it.

I'm going probably going to have to get a dozen of those balls, they are 70 bucks per dozen.

  • GolfSpy_APH changed the title to Rapsodo MLM2Pro - 2023 Forum Review

With the units starting to arrive the excitement and anticipation is growing!

I liked, but didnt love the MLM and found it a good unit for what it does and was to provide. It never became something that I felt was a must have though. More like a fun addition to have here and there. I am hopeful that with the additional features the MLM2PRO has it will feel like a must have must use as much as possible piece of equipment.

I appreciate you letting me know! One of the biggest reasons I didn't go in on the original MLM was the inability to use it with the Android platform.

I'll be reading closely to hear how it performs!

Hitting from the mats today.

Due to the elevation difference I was having a hard time getting the hitting area to line up.

A couple of goul balls took care of that.

Great stuff Elson! It's good to see some information from the range and see the Rapsodo in action. I know you did it took a bit of work to get the height correct but other than that, how easy was it to set up?

It was great to get that feedback, I always knew what a badly hit shot felt and sounded like, now I know where to look for my ball.

Setting up was extremely easy, turn on the device, connect to my phone set up location and it was ready to go, writing the steps make it seem a lot longer than what actually happened on the range, it was a couple minutes ready and go.

I need to get a stand for my phone, so I don't need to pick it up to see the feedback after each shot.

Something to consider for the testers (and sorry if their has been mentioned already).  I’ve followed this product since its launch and one of the things that people complain about is that you have to use the pre-marked Chrome Soft balls.  They are some solutions/workarounds to this that I’ve seen (example link below).

https://justapotamusdesigns.com/products/copy-of-rapsodo-mlm2pro-ball-dots-pack-of-50-for-50-balls?variant=43346085150875&currency=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&utm_campaign=gs-2021-01-04&utm_source=google&utm_medium=smart_campaign&gclid=Cj0KCQjw6KunBhDxARIsAKFUGs9J_LhkYChU7_ImsOHiYRTEXM94W_MjKB6GNvQI23EnQ0xjaDMnO9UaAhC0EALw_wcB

Id love to see if anyone can figure out/test some of these type of workarounds to see how feasible they are.  I’ve heard pretty good things about the dot stickers in the link above.

Thank you, this is some awesome information.

I figured that someone had made something like this, but had not looked it up.

Checking out the app this morning and I love the feature to go back and review your shots, and swing video.

I like being able to freeze at a particular moment of my swing.

What I love the most is the impact vision, I can see with good feedback that by instinctively trying to fight my natural slice, my clubhead is coming in very closed at impact.

I wish I could export just the impact vision video, but it is not letting me.

I have been following the update and performance progress since this came out, almost got one a few months ago, but have a bigger fish in mind now LOL. With the Rapsodo ball this thing seems really good, without using the dotted ball the side spin can be off a bit from what I understand. Is this what you have seen in testing? I am real curious how it tracks on the range with regular balls vs into the net with the dots, purely from a side spin perspective. Also, did this last update make the short chipping better? That was an issue a month or two ago. Looks like you are having fun with this, congrats.

So you got me curious and I ended up doing some research and found this 3D printed marker guide on eBay.
