Which One Are You?

Recommended Posts

I’m going to go back to an oldie but goodie. “The Mokom glove” I purchased one three seasons ago and It’s still in good shape. I only wear it in June, July and August. They are the high humidity months where I would go through 3 gloves a round. This glove took me a round or two to get used to but what a trooper. I had to put one wrap of white medical tape on my index finger where one of the holes are because I was getting a large callus. But the tape fixed that. The glove is ready for another season.

If you go to the unofficial reviews section of the forum. I did a full review on it. If I get a chance I’ll try to post the link.

Here you go. By the way don’t buy it through their web site. Amazon has it for less. But go to the site for sizing.

Great write up and I think I will be trying these out!  I go thru gloves so fast in the heat and would love to be able to save a little money in that department.

My hands sweat a lot so it doesn't take much for my gloves to start looking ugly. During the summer, I'll generally rotate through 3 gloves and clip the sweaty ones onto my cart frame to dry out. However, after several rounds they start to look and feel bad so off they go to my practice bag for the range.

I don't hold onto balls/gloves until they're unusable, but I will hold onto them for awhile.  Balls usually get lost before I have the chance to replace them but, for the ones that stick around, I'll swap them out once there is a significant cut that I feel will affect ball flight.  It has to be a pretty deep gouge that I can get a fingernail under, though.  I'll only retire a glove when I start to notice the club slipping in my hand (rare) or when I find a really good deal on a new pair.  That said, I often golf without one now because my grips are fairly new.  Gloves become more important for me as my grips become worn down.

My bag has two velcro pads to hang gloves off of, so in the summer I rotate gloves every two or three holes.Throw the one I had on on the pad and wind up with three gloves in rotation most rounds.

I retire gloves when they get a hole or the fingers get to stretched out.  Loose golf gloves do not feel good to me at all.  As for balls, I am just now starting to keep them long enough to be an issue.  If I feel like it’s getting too scratched up, I throw it in a side pocket of my bag and clean it up/inspect when i get home and make a decision there.  Or I use it if I'm not feeling good about the water carry.

I used to play a ball till it was on it's last legs, but since I saw the MGS data about the affects of scuffs, scrapes, etc. I switch out after those happen. I've got enough to worry about without thinking I'm making bad swings when it could be the ball that's causing problems.

I don't wear a glove except for early morning winter rounds when it's too cold without so I change gloves once a year basically.
