What Wedges Are You Currently Using?

Following! New wedges are on my get list for this golf season! Right now I’m running wedge set from Amazon- LAZRUS rainbow, 52°, 56°, 60°.

Out of curiosity, do you guys recommend getting fit for wedges?

How do you like the Lazarus wedges? I remember when they first came out a few years ago and they had them in several color options. I considered them, but them stepped back as several new DTC companies started popping wedges on the market.

I don't play my wedges, my wedges play me.  Probably the worst part of my game after my atrocious driving distance.

I'm using Cleveland CBX wedges in 54 and 58 degree lofts.  And I have one of those Callaway 'Sure Out' 56 degree sand wedges with the totally huge bottom flange.  Even with that the guys I golf with realize that no one, and I mean no one, is safe in any location when I'm about to have a spasm shot from a bunker.  Nothing about my wedge game is "pretty", not pretty at all.

Original Cleveland RTX 50, 54, 58. Ended up with one (50*) and liked it so much I bought the mates.
Replaced a set of Ping Glides that I tested for MGS and LOVED, but just was not hitting well at that time. They could sneak back into the bag some day.

Taylormade Hi-Toe 50, 54, 58 degree. The 58 degree is my favorite for around the green, but it sits in the garage because it is terrible out of deep rough -the only kind of rough around the greens at Coyote Run-. I need to sharpen the grooves on the sand and A wedge as I have pounded them about flat in the year I have had the clubs. Responsive and workable they are some of the best wedges I have ever had. Note the grooves go all the way to through the end of the toe. Kind of gimmicky but does not add or take away anything from the club.

Last year picked up a set of Glide 4.0 wedges, 50/10, 54/14, 58/6. Picked them mainly for the hydrophobic finish as I play many dew sweeping rounds with water playing a factor. I have enjoyed them and like the options now with the varying bounces based on how firm the turf is.

We want to hear and see what wedges are currently in your bag!

Photos are encouraged!

What lofts are they?

Are they new? Or are you getting new wedges this season? If so waiting on any specific wedge release?

Let us know!

Pw/Sw - Foremost 551 model, 25+ years old. Probably time for new ones, huh? I can't do anything out of the sand with the SW. It's like throwing a brick in the sand.

The PW on perfect center contact will give me 105 to 125 yards.

Unsure what their angles are, but guessing Pw is 46-48⁰ and Sw is 54-56⁰

Gw/Lw - warrior brand, bought off rockbottomgolf on clearance. Never had either of these type of wedges before. I've been very happy with the GW! 90-110 yards, and even slightly off center strikes do not stray too far.   The LW however is a finicky club for me depending on lie.  In the thicker cuts I can get it to pop up nicely. In fairway/fringe I either skull it, or dig through it and over shoot my target.

Gw is 52⁰, Lw is 60⁰

I definitely would love to afford a new matched set, fitted to my needs.

I have little to no knowledge on wedge angles, soles, and bounce.  Something else I need to learn more about as I progress.

I have my Sub70 wedges in play at the moment.

50* 286 that is full shots and pitch/bump and runs.
54* & 60* JB Full Groove wedges for bunkers, flops, chips, etc more around the green. I don't really do full shots with these.

They're built with DG120 S300 shafts that match my irons along with MCC+4 Mid's that also match.
They're great wedges and not sure they can be beat for the performance and price combo.

To get things started, I am going to be using the Toura wedges that I built up.

It is a set of 52,56,60 but I am going to bend them one flat and one weak for preferred gapping.

Since I was part of the Indi Wedge (FLEX-S 50-54-58 all 10* bounce, all with Recoil 780 F3 shafts) test last summer, I’m continuing to game them.

Not looking to replace this year - figuring the INDIs are good for another season or two.

WITB? Ping G400 SFT w/Aldila Mamba shaft R flex; Ping G410 3w; Ping G400 3h(19), 4h(22), 5h(26); TaylorMade SLDR 5i (interchanges w/5h)-PW -stock graphite shafts Rflex; INDI FLX-S wedges (50, 54, 58) w/Recoil graphite shafts -Rflex and Odyssey AI-One 7T BD Milled (aka Millie), ball choice tends to be Pro-V1 or simliar 3pc urethane balls.

Really am interested in the vokey sm10's.  May go to a 3 wedge system instead of 4.

Did the online vokey sizing thingie, have 2 possibilities;

Has anyone tried the wedges from Harry Taylor? My 52* SM8 Vokey is worn out so I ordered a 305 series wedge from them. The price is so low that even if it doesn’t play as good as it looks I haven’t thrown much money away

I have both the 305 "greens" (the dimpled sole ones)  and the 405 series (giant cavity-back spaceships).  I find the 305s play like Clevelands.  The milled face is good, overall great value.
