After shooting even on the front I was pretty stoked. Double on 12 and a triple at 15 I basically was throwing it away. Squeezed it out and it feels great.Sent from my Pixel 3 using MyGolfSpy mobile appCongratulations! That is epic! cksurfdude
Well, ummm, not so great cudda been better but cudda been worse... Past few practice sessions felt a little awkward so didn't bring a lot of confidence to the course, so... Not a good ball striking day .. which is disappointing as I'd been making some good progress on my swing and my game recently. Was pulling tee shots left or pushing them right .. chunking the irons .. etc etc (you guys know what I'm talking about!). Yet managed to scratch out more bogeys than "Others" .. two Triples and one Double (so I got that going for me). Had a few chances at par putts but kept grazing the right edge of the hole. Yeah it was really hot, and yeah it was really unbearably slooooow starting by the third hole .. took close to 3 hours for 9 .. but those are not good excuses for not maintaining focus while executing each shot.... perseveringgolfer
First game in 3 weeks today- no practice and straight on the tee for a trophy matchplay first round. played ok with the long game and chipping ok too. putting let me down, way short on long putts, missed the 2nd putt to lose 3 holes in a row with 3 x 3 putts- lost 2 and 1 after more 3 putt bogies on 16 and 17. Spent 1hr after the match on long game and 1.5hrs on putting - I now have yet another putting style which feels more natural so we'll see how it goes with 3 comps lined up this week (1 medal, 1 open comp and 1 third round of singles matchplay) MattF, Kenny B, CarlH and 3 others 6 Quote Driver Awaiting NEW Driver (after 10 yrs) 4 Wood Callaway Big Bertha Steelhead plus 4+ Callaway shaft in 'Firm' flex Hybrid Titleist 910H 19* Diamana ahina 'flower' shaft in 'S' Irons Mizuno MP18SC 4-PW N.S Pro Modus3 Tour 105 in 'S' Wedges Callaway Mack Daddy forged in black 50* and 54* KBS Tour in 'R' Putter 'YES' Tracy 11 C groove 34.5"

CarlH
OK, so yesterday my wedges gave me issues. This morning, before the round, I went to the chipping area and hit beautiful, crisp wedges with not one bad one. Out on the course...and BAM! edingc
- 44/41 = 85 (+13) - 9/15 FIR - 8/18 GIR (No birdies...) - 37 Putts (2 3-putts, 15 2-putts, 1 1-putt) - 2:45 Round Time - Walking by myself very leisurely, teed off at 6:53 AM. Another great ball striking round (feeling so good about my swing at the moment), and awesome driving round for me. So why didn't I score better? 1) Weather. My last two rounds have been the most windy rounds I've played all year. Struggled to account for the effect on both distance and direction this morning. 2) Two specific tee shots. Pulled my tee shot on No. 3 left out-of-bounds (absolutely crushed my second one though!). Hit a massive block on No. 16 the required me to punch backwards to the fairway. Probably four strokes gone between those two shots. 3) Wedge play. Just don't have a great feel for getting my wedges precise distances. I've been practicing a lot lately on this, but it hasn't come around yet. Leads to a lot of long first putts for me. Thirty-seven putts is too many! Nine holes tomorrow morning. romeopapazulu
This was my most frustrating average round in recent memory. My first putts on the front were leaving me with too many 5 ft comebacks (or still to get there's). For the most part I escaped and was pretty happy with how the front nine went. On #10 tee, I realized it was pretty hot out there. And I was walking on a course that must have 3 miles of green to tee paths. The putter quite clearly gave me two number one's (or was it one eleven?) right out of the gate after the turn. None of those too long second putts fell. An 81 shouldn't really feel that bad, but when the driver and irons are working that well, it is a shame to throw it all away putting like that. On the bright side, the ZGRIPS played really well in the heat. At no point did I wish for more traction in the sweaty heat. I still don't think I would have tried them if it weren't for the test for the forum, but I can't argue with how they are doing. sp0rtsfan86
Played a bunch of rounds. Really up and down last 3-4 weeks but have at least established a baseline that's better than mid 90s. I've shot 2 rounds in the upper 80s and 2 in the lower 90s with a few 9s in the upper 40s. Right now it comes down to driver. When it's somewhat straight I am close to 90. The last round was 93 but I had three or four 3putts because my irons and wedges were off and I couldn't get the green speeds right.
