I’ll second this sentiment. This test sounded really cool and I was expecting some really cool ferrules and unique grips maybe but you guys have gone beyond anything I imagined. Can’t wait to see everyone’s final product and to hear how they work on the course.

Thanks!  I'm loving this experience.  It's kinda kept me from going nuts this spring with all the rain here in DFW and kept me from driving my wife nuts while she finishes the school year as a HS teacher.  Going to be really interested to see how they play myself once the lofts / lies are adjusted and I put the GP ZGRIP Plus2s on the clubs.  Never been a fan of Tour Velvet grips, and since that's what the custom Toura Grips are, they're unfortunately going to have to go.

I didn't make a video, but built myself a P790UDI 2 iron tonight. 

On a directly Toura related note, I am going to make a post and submit a set of photos with the swing weights of the Toura CB irons with +5/8" X100 shafts, BB&F Co ferrules, and the stock grips to my main post...here's a hint...they are heavy, but not inordinately so:

I said the Toura CBs were heavy, but then I went and found my original build sheet for the Mizuno Pro 223 irons I got from Club Champion in 2022. They were all + 1" in 115 gram Nippon 1150gh stiff shafts and Lamkin ST+2 Hybrid Midsized grips (unfortunately too long as it turns out but part of that was I was significantly fatter than I am now and had more stomach to clear I guess) rather than +5/8" in 130 gram TT X100 steel shafts with Golf Pride ZGRIP Plus2 Standard grips.

 

I'm sure someone much smarter than me at this stuff can do the math on how this all works out for the swing weights being up and down throughout the set, but if I had to guess myself, I'll go ahead and say it has to do with not pulling the shafts out of the P7MC irons and sizing the Toura shafts precisely based on a combination of all of the various measurements to get everything more precise. In other words, I did this via the SWAG method and will have to make some adjustments with the help of the fitter at the PGA Superstore tomorrow night.  I'm 99% sure I'm going to have to add at least 1/8" to my 6 iron, which sucks because that's going to change the swing weight a decent amount because even if I shorten the extension insert as much as is safe to do so, it still is weight that wouldn't have been necessary had I gotten the club length right in the first place.  If they have one in stock, I am very tempted to just grab an X100 shaft from them and redo it, even if that means spending $30-45 on the fix to get it right.

 

I plan to do the swing weights of my P7MC irons tomorrow night after my gap analysis session at PGA Superstore with the Toura CB irons.

Ok so I finally got around to making up an Excel sheet with the factory lofts/lies vs actual. I give these a pretty decent pass as they are all within 2° which is a very tight tolerance compared to industry "standards".

I used the same format as @azstu324 and did a spreadsheet for my loft / lie data from the gap analysis session at PGA Superstore.  Normally, I would have been bummed that their repair shop had a 3-day delay to do the work, but that turned out to work in my favor because Golf Galaxy is also close by. They had a qualified tech who was willing to work on the clubs while I gave him the factory specs, let him read off what the clubs were right then, and then bend them to what the PGASS fitter recommended for me based on the Trackman Data and what the lie labels showed I was doing with the clubs.

The fitter did say that if he were doing a full fitting with me and recommending clubs for me, something with a slightly lower overall weight would be his recommendation.  However, he said I had enough club and ball speed for the 130-gram X100 shafts at this point. My loft data confirmed that unless I went STIFFER into an X7, I would hate any shaft I changed into because my ball flight would be so elevated that I wouldn't be able to control anything in the wind in Texas.  He said that for a future fitting, I could consider trying the X100 in the 120-gram version, but I wasn't sure that was a great option because it had a different launch profile that wasn't as flat as I needed.

So yeah, I guess at some point in my future, a shaft change might be necessary to make the most of these heads, but for now, I'm just anxious for Sunday when I can get some time to hit a few balls or maybe even get on the course and play a bit.  What I end up doing depends on if we're doing our combined family celebration for a couple of anniversaries and a birthday this Sunday or next weekend (someone is sick with the flu, and my 81-year-old father-in-law is supposed to be coming, so we can't get him sick).  

Without further ado, here are my numbers:

The rest of this is going to be picture-heavy with the TrackMan data, but in short, these were 2° too flat for me, and anything that resulted in a good shot was, as the fitter put it, the result of me "steering" the club...which is causing a loss of distance.  It was interesting that the 5 iron, which I had NEVER hit right since building it, was stronger than the factory loft, and the 4 iron was weaker than the factory loft, and yet, I smashed the 4 iron and could barely hit the 5 iron.  We'll see if the adjustments to the loft (notice that the 4 iron was basically spot on for what I need from the factory).
