  1. I didn't hate my team to start... I was hoping for Tiger to back for the Masters.  I don't think any of us saw his season ending quite like it did.  Brooks being out for extended periods wasn't part of my plan either... and Rickie... well, I'm a fan and was hoping for more.

So basically, yeah, I'd have to go back and redraft and probably not take any of the players that I took.  🤷‍♂️

I've had reasonable luck with USPS lately, using PirateShip to print labels at home. I always make sure to enter slightly larger dimensions (round up to nearest inch) and weight (+4 oz), but had a similar experience last month.

I shipped a SuperSpeed-C club to @B.Boston and about two weeks later USPS tried to tell me the box magically shrunk from 48" to 2" long and somehow gained four pounds. Thankfully, PirateShip immediately refunded the overage...

I still got the box and label here if you ever need proof! haha

  3. We’re a few week’s into baseball season and we had our third practice for Jackson tonight. I love his enthusiasm and excitement. Even after practice he wants to do more including racing me around the bases tonight.  I never have to tell him to be ready and he’s trying to hit it hard every time.  He’s already looking forward to his game on Saturday!

I hav been processing my last round for quite a few days now.  I played extremely well, and I couldn’t put a finger on why.

Well, today using some metacognition... I have learned that I need to stop practicing.

I hadn’t touched a club for over a week at least, didn’t even warm up on the range.  So instead of smashing range balls all the time, I’m just going to hit the course.  And play whatever shot shape comes out that day.

    Practice... just makes me worse.

    Practice... 🙄

sounds like a positive case of KISS.

    - 44/48 = 92 / 90 ESC (+19)
    - 4/13 FIR
    - 3/18 GIR (1 birdie)
    - 31 Putts (1 3-putts, 11 2-putts, 6 1-putts) - Had three lip out on me... blah.

Had a free greens fee that expired this week at the condo course I play occasionally, so I took the afternoon off to take advantage of that. Decided to challenge myself from the back tees, which in retrospect with a 15 MPH sustained wind was really a poor choice. The course rates out as a 72.9/142, but they shortened a few holes to accommodate more condos over the past five years, so it's only 6,300-ish yards now. I would assume they'll re-rate sometime, but that's besides the point of this post...

My golf game is feast or famine so far this season. Today I couldn't hit anything from the tee and it cost me dearly. I think I lost five balls in total to hazards or out of bounds, and I carded a nine on the first par 5 after most likely visiting someone's yard with my tee shot (couldn't tell, ball was right, going right) and then getting a bad luck bounce on the cart path in front of the green out of bounds on my approach shot.

Six pars and a birdie tells you how poorly the other 11 holes went. At least I putted really well! Something about these greens really suit me - I putted extremely well last time I played here, too. They're very quick but they roll true and I enjoy that a lot.

Sounds like my round off the tee last time out!  Something about the early season and wanting to crush them all is a bad mix for me.

6 1-putts with 3 lip-outs sounds like you are getting dangerous with the LAB putter man!  I also seem to do better on quicker greens.  Keep it up!

  6. I'd be curious to see where the CG's actually are in comparison to one another.  What's already been mentioned is prior is good but the thing we don't get from their description is the starting point.  Vokey moved the CG higher in the LW from SM7 to SM8, Hogan maybe moved it down, but in theory (not likely to be true) they could be in the exact same spot now and both of their marketing stories could be true with Vokey raising it to lower launch and Hogan lowering it to add launch.

It's probably too nuanced to get the true story on them.  It's one of the reasons I really like the driver CG report when they do it.

Hello friends and welcome to a Tuesday.

Today we have a new version of our trading sheet, the major behind the sheet change was that I removed the attempt of auto update, because google sheets need to be coded with HTML. and that is a skill I do not possess.

With that in mind there is no change for you guys, as  will still update this sheet every Monday morning or Tuesday if the Monday is a holiday.

As for facing values and updates, I have worked on the Points per Event portion, to use the amount of events played by a pro and the average points that fantrax is listing, so we do no have the case where a pro only played one event and it is sitting high on the list because of it.

I also added the comparison tool, it is simply a way to look at a trade side by side and see the total value.

To search for a player, all you have to do is to delete the current name on the box and start typing the new name, all of the 3200+ players on fantrax should be available.

    image.png.7d474fa7de98ac96fc5145a0f502b1ea.png

The tool will allow you to compare as few as 1 player or up to 8 players from each team.

To make it easy, each set of players is numbered and the lines on the comparison tool reflect that.

    image.png.8a5066d46a81803868f1b91aa6b7ffc9.png

In the trades where you want to compare less players, just leave the other player name boxes empty.

You can also use the empty boxes to compare where you are either giving away or receiving more players.

I hope this help for the rest of the season and the the future fantasy golf seasons.

Let me know of any other Ideas you guys might have to improve this tool.

Um, on what planet Tom Brady equal to Tony Romo?!

Romo is a much better golfer.

Awesome write up. Excited for the 7 wood too. Which shaft do you Plan on going with? I think only xstiff 80 gram is the smoke black unless I missed something.

I’m going to request the smoke blue like the rest of the woods and see what happens. I really don’t get along with the Smoke black

You guys had me interested in the 7 wood earlier so I was checking it out.  I'm not sure what shaft I would go with that's offered to get the natural progression in weight.  My 5 wood is already in the 80 gram class (Ventus Blue 8s, 86g I think) so I'd almost have to go Smoke Black RDX and keep the weight close to even unless I went the upcharge route.

Interesting that the black vs blue was so different for you @jlukes I thought it was just a counter balance point difference between the two RDX models?

Do we really hate dynasties in team sports?

    • Does anyone know a person prior to Tom Brady who would admit to being a Patriots fan?
    •

I've been a Pats fan my whole life!! 😂 Of course... Tom Brady came under center in 2001 when I was just entering high school.  And I don't remember much of anything prior to Bledsoe being QB.  But they're my hometown team so I grew up rooting for them.  I've been a Bruin's fan all along too.  I really enjoyed being able to get super cheap tickets the night of the game while I was in college.  Celtics sure, but I'm not big into basketball.  I don't think there will ever be a rivalry as good as the Sox and Yankees was prior to the Sox breaking through the curse.

As for golf, it has to just be because its the individual vs the team.  It's still incredible to see what Tiger did to other pro's in that time was crazy.  We also got some good David vs goliath moments with people challenging Tiger in certain tournaments, but he was in a class of his own.  I like that we're seeing more competition now, and while a guy may go on a run like Spieth did or Brooks on major wins it feels like the competition is deeper and we're unlikely to see one run away with it like he did.

But with other sports... if you don't happen to be my home team... I don't like dynasties.  😉

Thats awesome.  The Radspeed Tour fairway wood was super intriguing to me from a size perspective, but with a loft of 17.5 it falls right in-between the lofts I'd want to play

The tour speedzone looked awesome.  The 3wd in that is smaller head size than the 5wd in the regular speedzone line.  I liked it a lot but it was too low launching for me, which tends to be my issue with 3woods in general, so the forward CG of that one made it even lower.  But the few that I nailed had a great feeling crack to them.  You might find it plays longer than the loft suggests with the forward CG.  worth a swing or two at your fitting anyway!

  11. 1 minute ago, jlukes said:

Going up in loft closes the face!  Will be going 7 wood as that should hit the gap better, plus if I need to go down in loft it will open the face and that is my preference.

I've got my 5 wood cranked all the way open (-1.5* setting) and it's an absolute dream for me.  Pretty sure you've got more speed than me and I get 237 yards out of it compared to an arccos smart distance of 263 on my driver.  I have to agree the 7 wood will probably help you will that hybrid-ish gap better.

  12. 7 minutes ago, edingc said:

I think @B.Boston suggested a slightly longer hosel on the hybrids to facilitate tweaking lie and loft during our post-mortem call last year, but I suppose that's a pretty small market.

I don't believe any of us carried the 7 wood last year, will be interesting to see how it works out for you if that's the route you go.

Yes I was hoping to be able to bend it or for an adjustable sleeve on them.  Since I still love the way they feel and get through the turf for me I'm determined to make it work.  I think I'm going to hit a bunch of shots at the range and maybe over my next few round choked up an inch.  That should make it play effectively 2* flatter like my irons.

Outside of that I may just have to try out a 7-wood too and see how that goes.  I love the 5-wood so that might not be a bad alternative.

Very interested in these wedges. I loved the MIMs can’t wait to see how theee perform. Let’s get to picking sides!

Indeed! The MIMs are superb. I’m curious how the testers feel about the full face grooves on the higher lifted wedges.  I’m not a huge fan of the look but I’ve also never actually hit balls with any.

Looking like I will have 3 make the cut. Based on scores yesterday I did not think the line would fall at +2 but it looks like that will be the mark. Rahm squeaking through with 3 holes to play.

Can we make it +4 or +5?  I have 7 guys going and it looks like I'm only going to have ONE make the cut... I feel like I should get an award for that.

It was an external drive, her school had recommended leaving all project files on the external so as to not bog down the laptops. Everything she does is very heavy on CPU and the display card so having the files on the external and the software running on the main drive with the OS was their recommendation. Just terrible, terrible luck. Fingers crossed we get a good call from the lab this morning... her professors were all understanding and most had already seen her in-progress work, but it's still going to impact final grades no matter what if she can't turn anything in.

It sounds like they will be understanding, hopefully they can get what she needs recovered with minimal re-work for her to do.

Anyone who’s placed an order through cobra with sensors in the grips able to answer this question?

The sensor grips add .25 inches.  So it's up to you really.  To play the same shaft length you can order 45.25, or the same finished length order at 45.  If you plan to go to a traditional grip after you may opt to order at 45.25 so its 45 after.

    image.png.40beaa5ba7789ee8b87b691ceeaefa73.png

so either -2.5 or -.5 depending on your preference.

EDIT: Oops didn't see it answered already.  But as far as if you grip all the way to the end, I found a few of mine felt squishy as the end, while others felt pretty solid.  It actually sort of taught me NOT to grip all the way at the end of the club.

    First Impression

I got out on the driving range today, wasn’t sure the weather was going to hold off but the sun came out just in time for a first test!! I’ve recently been gaming the Tensei Raw White AV 65s which has been working out well, it’s a heavier shaft that allows me to really keep my tempo in check. For me tempo is everything  The Tensei does not have much feel. The bottom line is it performs it’s low launching, low spin as advertised and it really tightened up my dispersion. My worst misses have become playable.

Today I took out the Tensei and threw in the Regio B+ 65s in the TS3, it didn’t disappoint. This shaft is all about the feel, just like the modus 120s iron shafts. From the start you could feel the energy, it has a mild kick point I would say, not huge where it feels like a large whip like effect, but enough to feel the driver head release towards the ball. The shaft loads incredibly and really fits well with my tempo. I don’t feel that this shaft would work well with a fast tempo. I think you would miss out on feeling the shaft throughout transition to impact.

The performance of this shaft was great, ball flight was phenomenal from the start. It was incredibly easy to find the club face. The shaft played well, with the extra feel I had a small problem towards the end of my session turning it over leading to a pull fade. I should consider though that I did hit about 25 drives which typically for me right now during a practice session is closer to 10. Some of it was really wanting to get used to the shaft, and the other part was trying to get some good videos. First time using my selfie stick in a while and hitting off mats today didn’t leave me with much room to film.

Ball flight played low to medium, spin seemed low but I don’t have any launch monitor numbers to confirm. Today’s temperature was in the 50’s and we were hitting into a head wind so distance was hard to asses.

The Regio B+ shaft has a little more energy and feel with the kick point than the modus 120s, but I would say it is very complimentary as a driver shaft.

If the weather holds off tomorrow I will be playing 9 after work, and am scheduled to play 18 Sunday morning, but at this time it doesn’t look like the weather will cooperate. Best Day of the weekend is Saturday, I will be doing the ping demo where I plan to put my TS3 with the Regio B+ shaft against the G425.

Looking to get more videos and data this weekend!

Great start!  I should probably unfollow this thread unless I want to try to find my nearest US distributor. 😳

Mizuno HMB in my 4 iron and JPX Tours in 5-PW

This pseudo combo set has worked for me and thinking of doing something similar with the Cobra utility iron and MIM irons.

3pm fitting appointment at my local range with the cobra rep on Monday afternoon so I’ll have my setup locked and loaded shortly!

It will be interesting to see if the MIMs can match the Mizzy feel for you. 👍

  19. I’m excited that we still have a competitor who’s going to be on #team1length. Somewhere @daviddvm is smiling. @LeftyMatt89 are you a former or current one length user? Or will this be your first dip into those waters?

to the two MIM players.. @Mtbryant01 and @jlukes what are you boys playing now? Those irons seem to look like an awesome players cavity back design.
