Hoping this is a good spot for this question/conversation. I've been thinking about replacing some of my short irons due to wear. Looking for Srixon heads only because my shaft is no longer made (Recoil Smac Wrap). Will need to put some together. Was curious if anyone knows Srixon's schedule for new irons? Will they do something in 2025 after the MKIIs or is it too early? Might be worth waiting to see what is coming................

I believe that Srixon is on a 2 year release cycle so they should be releasing new irons in 2025.   In my opinion there probably isn't enough reason to wait for a new release cycle as there won't be a significant difference between single release cycles.

Those are nice irons, but I’m really in love with New Level, however, I wouldn’t be doing my due diligence if I don’t try out sub70 next year. Maybe then I can mix up the two sets for combo irons 😂. Seriously though, the MKii’s are pretty darn good.

I could play golf every day and learn something new each time.

I'm thinking about selling my Galaxy Watch 5 and replace it with a Garmin Eipx Gen2. I use the Shot Scope v5 on course, but might sell that too and use the built-in shot gathering on the Epix. I'd prefer to just have 1 watch for everything instead of multiple. They're on sale for $549 on Amazon.

Agree. I need to check out New Level. I have sub70 JB wedges and have really liked them.

Not trying to sell New Level, but they are the best irons I've ever owned. Better than both sets of my PXGs which my kids are gladly playing now. If you know your numbers and customize them you get to select some top notch shafts to go with them for no added fee. They will also gladly install shafts that aren't on their list, for a fee, but you can't beat custom clubs built just for you. Sub70 also customizes but charges for upgraded shafts.

I recently pulled the trigger on an Odyssey Mini Jailbird putter. Waiting for it to ship and can't wait to put it into play. The thing I'm thinking about, funnily enough, is the putter grip I want to put on it. I went back and forth debating on which grip option I wanted on the website, only to settle with the default one.

However, I love my current grip on my Scotty Cameron. It's by a company called Sweet Rollz and they made really quality putter grips with cool designs on them. My bag has a white/green theme, with a forest green towel and 3-wood cover, along with an alignment stick cover that is white with green shamrocks on it.

Sweet Rollz makes a similar looking design to my alignment stick cover and I'm absolutely going to put it on my Mini Jailbird once it arrives:

I’ve been very intrigued lately about the concept of counterbalanced putters and/or driver shafts. While I know this isn’t a new concept and that I should test some options for myself… does anyone have thoughts/opinions on them?

For me .. average recreational bogey golfer, scrawny old man 😄 .. just don't get along with them. Tried both a CB putter and CB shafts and just not for me. I like to feel the club head. Which is to say it's all personal preference and you should experiment yourself to see if you do/not like the feel.......

Definitely plan to try them out! But I like to hear other people’s experiences as well just for my own curiosity. Thanks for the reply!

Try the counter balanced putt on a big green outside.  I find it works well for some people but not for others.  For me, I find it’s great for short putts but for long putts I lose a lot of ability to get it the right pace to the hole.

Good to know! Sounds like there is a little trend of “losing” the club head on larger strokes whether is be on lag putts or driver swings. I’ll report back when I can get around to trying them out. Definitely looking at putters more than driver shafts in this case.

After buying a Newton shaft from @Erin B, now I’m mulling over the idea of a Newton fairway shaft for my 4 wood. So many toys, so little time.

Someone needs to start a support group: “New Golf Tech Anonymous”

I work in a ProShop and I want it all … it’s a disease! If I had $$$ I buy Smoke, Qi10,  & G430 drivers, Vokey, Cleveland, & Callaway wedges in several lofts and bounces … oh, heck, u get my drift. I’m an addict.

BUT u’ll have to pry my LAB DF2.1 out of my cold dead hands.

After buying a Newton shaft from @Erin B, now I’m mulling over the idea of a Newton fairway shaft for my 4 wood. So many toys, so little time.

6 DOT for you for sure.

I could play golf every day and learn something new each time.

After going to a Callaway fitting event I’m almost certain I’m going to grab an AI Smoke Triple Diamond. Ball speeds were insane compared to my gamer and it was much more forgiving than I anticipated. Got an additional 20 yards carry…

Probably a first for this forum, but I've been researching decent pink clubs for my 14 year old daughter who only cares about how the irons look and match her bag.  I think I've identified every name brand pink club made in the last 15 years.  Adding to my challenge is the clubs need to be left handed.  Interestingly, there is only one current pink iron right now, and that is the Mizuno JPX Q.  I've confirmed it does not come in left handed. She showed me the Mizuno 241 Azealia edition is pink and she would love to have them in her bag.  Not happening for multiple obvious reasons.   Also, there is the Vice Golf VGI02 Pink, but that doesn't seem to come in lefty or softer flex.

2022 - Cobra AirX - They are pink and were made left handed.  None available to order, new or used.  I did manage to snag a left handed 2022 AirX driver 15 degree for her that she likes, and just ordered a used 5 hybrid. These would be perfect for her if I could find a used set.  The 2024 irons, hybrids and woods are blue.  Boo.

2022 XXIO 12 Bordeaux - not sure if they made these in left handed, but I haven't seen any available in lefty

2022 Honma Beres 3 star - not her taste, and $600 / club.

2021 Cobra Radspeed - left handed available and some used clubs around.  These may be an option.

2019 - Ping G Le2 - more red than pink and she said she won't play Pings.  No reason given.

2019 Cobra F9 irons - left handed and she likes the look a lot, because it is hot pink.  I found a used 7 iron I'm going to have her try.  These may be an option

I've seen some older model Cleveland irons that are pink, but none in left handed.

Interestingly, after seeing my Callaway Ai Smoke driver (which she loves the look but deducted points on appearance only because it had no pink) she loves the look of the Ai Smoke irons.  Apparently the women's models are the same heads, so an option would be the Ai Smoke HL irons, left handed, 1in short, with women's grips. She really only needs 7-pw so price isn't too crazy.

A little different thought…after reading through the Toura build test, could you do some paint fill on a set to meet the pink requirement?

With somrthing like Toura that might actually work. Good thinking. I don't know much about their offerings, so not sure they have a left handed game improvement head available. She might like those. Actually,  she might like almost any non-descript lefty head I can paint fill the logo / bottom.

I had gotten a set of discounted TaylorMade RBZ hybrid/iron combo which she refuses to carry because they are green. I needed a second set of lefty clubs for her older sister who is just starting to take lessons and I assumed (wrongly) the old irons would go to the older sister. I had offered to paint fill the bottom, but she pointed out the backs and shafts would still be green. Her older sister is enjoying using the RBZs.

Girls…nothing but trouble!  I have a 6 yo and 11 yo at home, plus the wife, plus 2 female dogs (and the male dog is my wife’s), so significantly outnumbered!

Good luck finding the combo that works.  I believe @Josh Parker did a build with some Tora’s recently and he is left handed.  Might be worth checking them out.  Not sure price point on them.

They didn't have many left handed options but always putting new things up on the site.

No kidding. "dedicated" is too nice of a term. She just told me her bag's dividers are tearing a little (they aren't) and the Top Flite bag screams "beginner", so she thinks she wants a cream colored g/fore bag. Not happening, but I can see whenever she does get a new bag, she will "need" to get new irons that match the new bag.

Unless I can find a decent used set cheap, I'm leaning towards the paint fill approach on one of the more non-descript irons. That way we can change the color when her taste's change.

My local golf store had three left-handed AI Jailbird putters in stock. I tried one out, and it felt incredibly stable and smooth. I plan to trade in my current putter and use gift certificates to purchase it eventually. I was impressed!
