Duh on me.  I could have read your club list before blabbering on about Mizu.  Preach to the choir.🙃

I got my first fitting this spring and the Mizuno jpx 923 forged wound up being the best match. Because I had been hitting almost daily indoors over the winter, I got very sensitive to how clubs sound and feel, as much as how the ball actually flew. The 923 forged have been a fantastic fit for me. Great feel to me and most people don't realize the set is basically a split set with chromoly forged higher speed irons up to 7 iron, and then the 8 through gap are 1025 forged with smaller cavities, thinner soles, and less offset. I didn't even realize that until I received them but they are a great fit for me. I struggle with the longer irons a bit and the extra forgiveness is welcome, but I'm hitting the best approach shots of my life with the shorter irons. I'd say the gapping on the short end is bigger than ideal (about 15 yards between clubs for me), but I'm learning to adjust my swing for in between distances.

My guess is if I got fit for wedges, assuming I stick with the 49 degree gap, the 54 / 59 like @funkyjudge@funkyjudge said, would probably be ideal. I assume one would have higher bounce for sand (probs 54) and then I could have the 59 for touch shots, assuming I can learn to hit it properly.

Mizu wedges also can be bent up or down.  I have 2 identical "S 5", 52 x 09, and bent one up to 50 and the other down to 54, so I have perfect gap on identical clubs.  Bounce goes down when you decrease the loft, goes up when you increase loft.  And of course, the type of course calls for different bounce.  My main play here has very little deep rough.  Lots of hardpan, dirt, and in the bushes instead.  Don't need much bounce.  If you have the opposite, need more bounce.  Sand usually works with 12 or 14 bounce.

Is Performance Golf one of those "infomercial" type companies?

One of the guys has this Performance Golf SQ-1 putter.
I tried it and loved it.

It seems to outperform my hickory shafted Tad Moore Chicopee which I've been using for a couple of years.
It reminds me a little bit of a Dandy putter that I once had but can't find.
Maybe I gave it away and don't remember.

Anyway, this guys bails on putters quickly, so I may be able to buy it pretty cheap soon.

Wedges… I keep thinking about wedges!  I love my Callaway PM Grind 54º and 60º but I think they are about ready to be replaced.  I like the high bounce, C-grind, head shape, and full-face grooves so I’m limited in options, and I wonder if I can get the same performance with something else.  My wedges were built 3º flat lie and with KBS Tour 90 regular flex shaft which isn’t a common shaft option.  Wedges are clubs that are difficult, if not impossible, to test in course conditions, and I hate spending money on a club to find out it doesn’t work for me.

Very good to know.  However, if I do buy the putter, which I do like, it won't be directly from Performance Golf.

Onset (blade in front of shaft) putters set up well for me.

That was and still is a good design. If you really like it, get a better condition model of the same. I have been playing Mack Daddy 2s up intill this year where I replaced them with  the mack daddy 4s. I just like the shape of the 2s and the 4s are pretty much the same just not forged. I love Mizuno.  I would take a serious look at their Grain Flow Forged wedges.  The bigger companies pay more t the pros, but I don't think anybody makes better than Mizu.  A fitter can bend loft and lie.  There is also a small company in Carlsbad Indi Golf that will fit you by phone or video, they make each club to order.  I have hit them indoors and they are hi spin and lower trajectory than many.

If you follow me you'll know I demoed the Titleist GT3 driver the other day. Well, that driver is still on my mind. I hit that thing long and straight. And that was with the stock stiff Tensi 1K Blue. I don't usually get along with the Tensi Blue, but the 1K must be a different story. I haven't tried the GT4 yet, but did try the TSR4 and was fitted with that club at the end of last season, in the Tensi 1K Black. I need to try the GT4 to really get a good idea on what I want to spend that kind of money on.

I played a round with a buddy of mine yesterday and his son who is playing college golf for UTEP and hits it a mile.  He just did a fitting for new irons and got to test out the GT lineup.  He ended up in the GT3 from the TSR4 and got 5mph faster club speed.  He was shocked at the numbers and shocked at what GT line he ended up with.  He also ended up with the GT2 3w.

Fittings are definitely the way to go.  Looking forward to seeing what you get fit in to.

Was just on their website and it recommended the GT3 for me.

Previously I have been fitted for a set of irons and a driver, both with very positive results.  I have not yet been fitted for wedges, fairways, hybrid or putter.  Currently the worst part of my game is putting, so I am thinking a putter fitting will be my next expenditure.....

I've been dropping some crucial strokes from 7 feet and in. That's led me to believe that I need any indoor putting mat. Really liking the BirdieBall mat right now but I'm sure I'll be victim to impulse soon enough. It's always a rabbit hole!

I picked this guy up at Christmas - not only can you get those 7 footers but also those pesky 8' 6"s!

I had my kids on it last night with the line laser out doing a putting challenge.

Has this helped your putting? My putting is my worst part of my game by miles, and it is hard to get the time to get to a putting green.  For me, I think distance control is the biggest issue, but my alignment probably isn't the best either.

I wonder if indoor practice translates to the course. And does the laser line help?

I'd say the reps definitely help with the 6-8' putts. My stroke is much improved after banging out a couple hundred shorties in the garage.

The line laser is something I just started doing to help with stroke consistency. I have a tendency to get overly handsy and swing off path; my dominant miss is cutting across the ball and striking at the toe and pushing right. The laser helps to ensure that my stroke is much more consistent and also makes sure that my ball starts off down the target line. It's a work tool that gets used at home and the kids love it.

I want to get a new bag this year before the season is over. Hoping my bonus this month allows me to get it. Looking at Ghost, Vessel, Kradul, Revcore, Ping, Ogio, or Sun Mountain I think. My current bag just feels cheap and doesn't have many perks to it. I think right now I'm leaning towards Kradul for the price and features. Love the Ghost bag the most but the cost is a little harder to swallow.

Also want to look at getting new irons hopefully next year, will probably at least go somewhere I can test or get fitted. My iron game is pretty good, but my irons are cheap and I can't get much more out of them. Just going to have to save up to spend on what I like.

I've never been able to access those videos but I'm going to go out on a limb and say those are some cute kids doing cute things with an awesome dad.

How's the site on that mat? My research tells me most of them are going to be faster than my local.

Cheers

No stimp meter at my house, but some of the Amazon reviews say 12 - 14, I’d say that’s probably close. I have it set up on concrete, so it’s probably closer to 14. Indoors on carpet it’s probably 10.
