cksurfdude
My rant...bloody cars. Chanin's Rav has been making a squeaking noise for the past 6 months and no amount of my getting under it and shaking things can point me to what it is. Being an 02 with 112,XXX on it, I thought the shocks may have been the culprit, so I ordered new fronts and rears last week. I put the rears on yesterday morning, snapping the lower passengers bolt in the process. I got the rest of the bolt out using an easy out (YAY, they don't normally work for me) ran down to O'Reilly's but they didn't have the right one. Went to Lowes armed with the correct bolt info and got one there for the princely sum of $1.64. Back home, got everything buttoned up, backed it out of the driveway to take it for a test drive and the squeak was still there. I got out and gave it a good shake, could still hear the squeak. Got Chanin to rock the car (c'mon, it's a Rav 4 not my truck) while I got under it to try and finally pinpoint the noise...I did. The rear passengers spring is broken right at the top perch. So, now I need to order new rear springs for the damn thing. At least you don't have to worry about the shocks for a while 😀 Sent from my E6853 using MyGolfSpy mobile app Yeah and it should ride like (almost) new! (You're pretty handy .. Yikes I can totally understand your "What the Heck" perspective, but now its time to get passed it. Remember, a budget is a management tool, so I would get a detailed understanding of the number. Is it based on volume, is it based on price or both. With such understanding, you can address variances both in explanation and tactics. Are capital investments being made to the course and facility that must be financed. Perhaps, management is saying "let's see what this guy can do". Golfspy_CG2
It's called a stretch goal. This old body isn't made to stretch like that...LOL But I get it, you don't want to give something so easily attainable, that the sales person feels he can get it by coasting...but what worthwhile salesperson would do that, when the old mantra is...."you eat what you kill" I've always been self motivated when it comes to sales, but it was still a shock to see this number, when on Friday I was told it would be about $30,000 less. I can totally understand your "What the Heck" perspective, but now its time to get passed it. Remember, a budget is a management tool, so I would get a detailed understanding of the number. View it as a challenge to be overcome on your path to Corporate Director of Sales with a desk in the Executive Suite. Oh there's no ill feelings that I feel I need to get past it. The Rant thread just had to do since we don't have an "Oh My" thread...LOL There's a lot that goes into it, that isn't proper for a public forum. But, yes some improvement's are being made but to my knowledge no more so than this past year. And yes we did talk about volume vs price and where the growth should come from . Not to tout my own horn, but I guess I will. I think a large part of it was they saw what I did last year, but didn't want to assume that was going to be the standard (based on results from previous person) but then when this year exceeded what we did last year by such a large amount, they may have said "ok, this is the new norm" As for the title and chair in the executive suite. No thanks, I was actually asked a couple weeks ago, what I wanted to do next, in order to grow. I told them, I have more I want to accomplish here, and I'm perfectly fine with striving to achieve that. And that there are ways I feel I can continue to grow within my current capacity. Rickp
Yep, cat food. My wife likes to make sure our adopted cats and a few ferals have enough to eat. Well, that stopped. Dishes come in at night now. Bad news... last night we had to put the old mama cat down. I honestly didn't think she would make it through last winter, but the hot weather was too much. Her daughter cat is missing her. I'm not really a cat person like my wife, but she was the most friendly cat I have ever been around. The other one doesn't like me much. Sorry about the old mama cat. Hate having to put a pet down. When I was sure it could not get worse I got a flat tire driving into the office. Hope it starts getting better from here but right now I doubt it. Flat Tires never happen at a good time...(says Captain Obvious...ha) I've been fortunate I've only had one in about the past 10 years, and it wasn't as bad as it could have been. I came down to my car in a hotel parking garage one morning to find it flat. I couldn't change it myself as I was like 2 months removed from my Knee Replacment surgery and it I had never even seen where the spare was in this SUV let alone tried to change it. Turned out it was mounted underneath the back of the truck. The AAA guy even had a hard time getting it out of it's well. Timing wasn't horrible, I was on my way over to the arena to cover a basketball game and was heading over about 3 hours early, and AAA was there in about 20 minutes. So all in all not too bad. StrokerAce
okay... I ordered a putter from 3balls in like new condition and it was listed at 34 inches... got it yesterday and it felt a little short so I measured it. (I laid it down on the couch for the pic but I also leaned it up against the wall and both came out at 33) 33 inches! ... and there were more scuffs/nicks then I expected for like new... ...and it had a junky grip (karma!?!) which they didn't really describe in the listing... Now what do I do? Add an extension? Play it at 33? Contact them and ask for some sort of replacement? I checked and they don't have a black protype in 34... there's the 'black series' but I'm really interested in the protype with the all black head/shaft. I'm not too worried about the grip as I can find plenty of affordable alternatives... Oh yeah - I called Odyssey and gave them the serial number on the putter... apparently they stopped doing that a while ago but the guy was still able to look it up. It was a 35 inch putter(!) that someone must have cut down to 33... Some companies fall all over themselves trying to make the customer happy.
