Don't know how many of you guys might be in to this sort of thing, but my son Sam's band is releasing its first CD today.  The band is called Sammy Strings (that's my boy!) and the Can of Bliss.  Chec

... I will be listening to Cheap Trick and ZZ Top tomorrow night at the Tinley Park Amphitheater. And I scored tickets for TOOL this morning playing the United Center in November.

No matter what you might think personally about this guy.....................he was an extraordinay guitar player.

For those that like classic hard rock and looking for something new, forget Greta Van Fleet, try some Scorpion Child.

A little Chuck Berry..... Judas Priest style.

Funny, I just came home from the record store with a copy of Chuck Berry One Dozen Berrys. Literally just finished listening to it, great album.

Love Judas Priest too. Sad Wings of Destiny is my favorite of theirs.

I’ve got the vinyl and side one is epic. Victim of Changes
The Ripper
Dreamer/Deceiver
Deceiver

There might not be a better album side in the history of NWOBHM.

As a Shinedown fan, I'm ashamed to admit that I'm just getting around to listening to their new album, but I've been doing some putting practice while listening to it for the first time. They really seem to have gone mainstream and really abondoned their hard rock roots. It seems like a lot of my favorite bands have gone downhill lately: A7X, BFMV, Disturbed etc.  IMO, this is their worst album by far.

Eventually almost all bands will sell out for the money, if they stay together long enough.

If you’ve been busting your butt for 10+ years living out of a suitcase and ruining personal relationships because you’re never around and all you have in the bank is $2000, you’d jump at the first chance to “sell out”.

Or, maybe as you aged your musical interests evolved.

Release the same album and you don’t sell because fans think you’re boring. Evolve your sound and you don’t sell because you’re a sellout.

I'm not talking about bands that struggle for years. Aerosmith comes to mind. They found a new fan base as they slowly changed. Rush did the same thing. Neither band is doing what made them big in the first place.... they are still great bands, but their original fan bases don't care for the new direction.

I guarantee I'd sell out for the money too!

Currently listening to rough mixes of the EP I've been working on since January. I got the final vocal tracks back from the singer and I'm getting things cleaned up before I send it off for mastering!
