I am so old that I remember the days when beltless Sansabelt trousers were the accepted golf attire.

Sansabelt, wow u definitely have to be older than me. I remember "old guys " wearing them.

... Interesting. This is exactly how I wear my shirts. I tuck them, then pull them out all the way around so I have complete freedom of movement. I have always preferred a loose fit. At 6'1" and 180 I don't have a problem with it coming out any further. I have never understood the fascination with belts or buckles.

I guess I just think it looks sharper with the belt showing. Maybe it's just because that's how tour pros wear shirts.

Well would you ever wear a suit without a belt? It's not about holding your pants up, it's about the way the accessory looks.

 

I personally feel naked without a belt. I'm always wearing a belt if my pants/shorts have belt loops even if my shirt is untucked.

For me it's a little of both. I wear polos for work and always tuck. When golfing I do the same with the exception being some courses that it really does not matter.. Some local muni's. but if I'm playing a resort course or some where new. I always tuck.. then go from there.. it also depends on the others playing. Play a resort course locally that they only requirement is that you wear a shirt in the clubhouse.. Have played draging a roller cooler and clubs bare footed and shirtless.. Barefoot golf is so sweet, except broken tee on the tee box. LOL

Your course sounds like my old county course where it was more laid back. Man that was a fun crew to tee it up with! The only thing we didn't cater to were tank tops. We had one old boy show up in a tank and we run his arse off.

While I no longer wear suits, when I did I had the tailor sew in bracer (aka suspenders) buttons, so I didn't wear a belt.   But that was a while back.  If I need a suit now, I will need to buy one because I can't get into my old ones now.

... Always wear a belt but the same kind of leather brown/black belt I have always worn. As others have stated I always thought of a belt as something to hold my pants up, not a fashion accessory. Of course I am a life long hippie form the late 60's and fashion has never been a part of my life. Aside from the scam, I just can't imagine living life caring about what others are wearing or even worse, concerned about what others think of what I am wearing. 

 

... Kinda like many today that say they won't play an iron because of the logo or color in the cavity. If it looks good at address, feels good and produces good shots I couldn't care less what the cavity looks like. My irons are not a fashion statement but a tool to help me produce good shots and post my lowest score. I switched from AP2's to Amp Forged because they felt much better, looked better at address and performed better. The ugly bright orange medallion in the cavity never bothered me at all. When I wrote a 68 in the box at the end of the round there was no box to check for Iron Fashion.   ^_^

I always go tucked with most of my golf wear, pulled out for a looser fit. I'm also not going to get into a conniption if I come untucked during the round, that's whatever. If it's a super casual fun weekend round when I bust out the jean shorts at the local pitch and putt, then probably untucked
