Kor.A.Door
Honestly, my misses are just too big. Even with the irons. I have a draw miss with my 5 iron off the tee that can get up to 30-45 yards left of target...most courses I play thats just not acceptable, it leads to a penalty. Same with driver. I hit it a real long way most of the time, but my misses are always OB penalties. I need to figure out how the pro's "BIG" misses are still only 15-20 yds offline with 300+ yard drives. Also chipping was a huge problem too this week, but it changes every week..who knows.. Did you just say that your “misses†is too big? Kenny B
Still have a lot of trouble with any ball-below-the-feet lies. I have trouble with these lies as well, and my course has lots of opportunities for ball-below-my-feet. I also have trouble with downhill lies; just can't stay down through the ball very well. However, my biggest weakness is not hitting the ball far enough with the driver. The driver ads over the past 10 years are not true. “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
MaxEntropy
I would say my biggest weaknesses are: 1) Inconsistency off the tee (woods) 2) Unrealistic expectations - I'm a bogey golfer. I have to remind myself of that fact when I am tempted to get too torqued about a bogey or a double (or three putting for a par, which has happened a few times). 3) Like someone else said, I need to be better about taking my medicine and go for the safe shot instead of the high risk/high reward shot. Last week in my league, I hope I learned something: I had tree trouble for my second shot. I thought about going against my natural ball flight and attempt a draw, but instead hit straight, but a couple clubs short for a chip and a 1 putt. Had I not been scoring well, I'm sure I would have talked myself into the nearly impossible (for me) shot. 4) Bunker play - none of the public practice facilities in my area have decent bunkers and some courses have really bad bunkers, so practice happens on the course. Occasionally I end up with a very good result, but it's all luck. revkev
Like most people with a handicap it's distance for me. Statistically that's the normal limiting factor between handicap levels for most (not all) people. At least I don't suffer from the average 30 yard delusion that many do in regards to how far they hit the ball so my course management is a bit more realistic. I make up some strokes there. JohnnyPenso
The mid-round slump. I'm typically getting off to a fast start these days, often at or around par after 5 or 6 holes, then 5 or 6 over on the next 5 or 6 holes and finishing another 3 or 4 over for the rest of the round. I was finally able to change the pattern a little the last time out and I know it's all in my head so I'm hoping I've turned a corner.

Sluggo42
The thing you need to think about is that you can putt better than a pro. Har in the Hat
Right now, tee shots. Generally it is 30-75 yard pitches especially out of deep rough. Biggest problem is inconsistency. And that is so true. it's amazing how some days you can be on fire with one part of the game or most of it yet the next day it could be like you're starting to learn the game. I always believed that golf is the hardest sport to learn What's in my Mizuno BR-D2 bag OFFICIAL TESTER FOR THE PING i500 CLUBS. Har in the Hat
Seriously though, using a 9 or 8 iron, it is much easier to chip off hard pan than with a wedge. I learned that from an older guy that I used to play in a group with. He was always able to chip hem really good when he was on hard pan, then I would either blade or chunk it, he said use a 9 iron, and I've never had an issue since. same set up? Har in the Hat
Consistency, I am the type of golfer that can hit greats shots half the time and terrible ones the other half. If my terrible shots were a little better I could be much better. Consistency aside, I would say my handicap breakdown would be like this, Driving-19 Irons-0 Chipping-12 Putting-0 Clearly I just need to hit more fairways!!!!!!! that kills us all. Kor.A.Door
same set up? Set up with the ball back of middle, so very similar to a regular chip. The object is to get the ball moving forward with good contact, there are limitations, if you are trying to carry the ball over thick grass or water or something, it's difficult, but if you figure out how the ball reacts and runs out, you can put it pretty close regularly.
