Agreed. Their defense looked great yesterday. Joe Burrow is great, but he’s not “miss the entire preseason and it doesn’t affect your play” great. Still a good football team, so there’s time to get it sorted. Good luck to your Bills!

... Who doesn't?  Josh is one of the very few college QB's I have seen that improved his accuracy in the NFL. I have had several misses as a pretend GM when evaluating college QB's because it really is just a guess and impossible to know how they will perform unless they run a pro style offense in college, and so few do. But I thought Allen would struggle due to his inaccuracy and Mahomes would struggle because he was just way too reckless with the football. I thought Graham Harrell and Blaine Gabbert would excel because they had the exact tools needed for the NFL. Quick release, strong arm, ability to read defenses and go through their progressions quickly and make decisive throws. Coming out of a spread offense in college, you really have no idea how they will play in the NFL. Soooooo many almost sure thing prospects have failed.

IMO Josh has succeeded because he’s had to work for every inch during college and pros. Fought to get into Wyoming. Remained humble and busts his butt. Talent is one thing…he has been a leader and a great teammate and those are things you just cannot teach.

... I would completely agree. But hard work doesn't necessarily improve accuracy. It has been my experience that by the time you get to college, you are ether accurate or you aren't. You can marginally improve but more often than not TRYING to be more accurate is like steering your drives off the tee. Seeing someone with the drive and determination to get better and then doing so is just very impressive. Josh is one of my all time favorites.

But seriously, offense took a bit of time to click, but I’m jazzed for the two headed monster of Bijan and Allgeier. Defense finally seems to be coming together as well…can’t wait to watch how the NFC South plays out!

... Well, ever since he said he thought the sun rose in the west on Hard Knocks I have been skeptical of his intelligence.  I was not a fan in LA and McVay got rid of him for a reason. Like more than a few he is very good if his first read is open. He struggled getting to his secondary read but has continued to get better at it in Detroit. So hard to say until I see him in an important playoff game but I give him huge props for continuing to get better. I'd add I will take him over any other QB in the NFC North and in the end that's really all that matters.

Thanks!  I’ve been a lions fan for many years but because they have been so bad, not living in the area, they rarely have been on tv in my markets (Rams, Bucs, Falcons). I’ve tried being a fan of these other teams but just don’t have that same feeling. This year I have nfl ticket under YouTube.  Goff seems much better that others thought when the rams traded him, and some lions fans were upset they didn’t draft Fields.  Thanks, but no thanks.  I really liked his composure standing in the pocket in the second half against KC, and he has some really good receivers, but a running game.  It’s a long season so I’m sure there will be a lot of ups and downs.

... I don't think Goff was a good match with McVay. The guy has an eidetic memory and Goff is a little more California surfer dude. I think their trade hit him hard and he really dedicated himself to reaching his true potential. Many don't. Should be a fun year for a Lions fan!

Goff has excelled under Campbell’s lovable style and who can blame him.  Like you said (and beat me to the task) McVay is too cerebral.  Campbell is a guy who builds your confidence and makes you believe in yourself…McVay is just different…

 

Also…349 pass attempts without a pick is pretty impressive stuff from a QB that a lot of players had written off.
