**wow** Update ---CALLING COBRA GOLF HELP !

9/20 - After months of trying to get someone at Cobra to hear what I was saying about my clubs - Bob Philion (CEO) stepped up and made good on a problem for me - Mr average customer!

Thought it only fair to point this out.

Nice to know companies can still look past guidelines to keep their customers happy!

 

If anyone is here from Cobra or knows a higher level Cobra rep please PM me.

 

I think my experience is definitely not indicative of what Cobra is all about.  Yet - it is all I've to go on to this point.  Lots of wanting to sound like they are helping, but not solving the issue.

Kind of like I'm not Fowler or Bryson - so who cares.

Other than trying to call via customer service you may want to consider the social media outlets. Post your story on their social media; generally they will respond or ask you to get in contact.

I have had nothing but great luck with Cobra. What happened in your situation?

They allowed my clubs to be shipped knowing the fit would not work well.  

Then hid behind "that is what you ordered".

Glossing over the part where their head of customer service and the person who placed my order AND their head of TEAM program for school golf teams...........

all promised that their club techs would know how to deal with cutting an inch off of any club - and how to make that club work as if standard.  So - I didn't ask for any form of stepping because they swore their tech would know best.

 

They made them, cut them as is and shipped.

Solution to my issue of having a set of clubs that didn't function anywhere near its capabilities - was to put lead tape on them and ship them back to me.

 

So - I now have brand new Cobra irons with C-taper shafts that two fitting verified worked perfect for me - and yet I'll be using ping eye2 irons going forward.

I'm sorry it sounds like your cobra experience has not matched my own.

Glad you got your problem solved. You should have gotten results via customer service, but it seems like we now have to make things visible publicly. .

I chatted with him very briefly at the PGA Show. Seemed like a real approachable person and genuinely interested in Cobra's customers.

 

Glad it got settled for you.

 

On a related note. I had the opposite situation as you with a different OEM. I had graphite irons ordered 1” over and a midsize grip. I had been told the custom team would find heavier heads to make up the SW difference. So i ended up with C8 SW instead of actually requesting them to be built at D2.
