Graphite shaft tip altering ?

Recommended Posts

You can do it, but you have to be careful.  It takes time and patience, and I don't recommend for higher swing speed players.  I did it just for fun to see what a shaft I had on hand would play like, but I'm old and slow!!

I'm not sure why you would want to do it.  Many shafts from a manufacturer can be purchased in either .370 or .355 for the same price, or similar playing shafts can be bought from other manufacturers.  Check out Golfworks.com

Yes, I agree it can be done, I've done it. It depends on the diameter thickness of the graphite tip. Definitely weakening the tip. If you are a player that typically slams the clubs into the turf after a missed shot, you could break the shaft right at the hosel area. But performance wise, most would not see a difference. Altering the hosel, sounds tricky, i have not tried.
