Popular Post null
Well the first round is in the books. Good news is my putter and wedges were on fire. Bad news is none of them are cobra clubs. Iron shafts are going to be an issue. Very different than what I was fitted for and what I’ve been playing the last 5 years. I’m going to do my best to give feedback on the iron heads without dwelling on the ill-fitting shafts Lost two balls off the tee today (one driver and one 3 wood) with duck hooks out of play. Decent distances across the board, but I need to get on a launch monitor to figure out what my carry distances are - especially with my 7 wood and irons edingc, Shankster, sirchunksalot and 7 others 8

Popular Post Mtbryant01
I got my first round in with the MIMs and Snakebite wedges. Didn’t record this round in Arccos as I’m waiting for the woods to come in. Shot an 81 40/41. 7/14 FIRs, 7/18 GIRs. Results might now show it, but I really enjoyed the MIMs for my first round with zero range sessions. It felt like I was flushing most of my shots, even those in the rough. I went from 90g to 120g in the shaft, so it will take a minute to get used to that as I left a couple out to the right, but all in all I really enjoyed them! The Snakebite wedges were great as well. I was playing on firm and fast greens today. It’ll take me a couple rounds to get used to them, but overall was very happy. I think I’m going to like the full groove face on the 58. Let’s talk about the finish on the Copper MIMs. I was warned about this at my fittings, but sand will take some specs off the finish. The range was sandy, and it didn’t take many swings to notice some specs forming. Below is an 8 iron I hit 5 times on the range. I didn’t clean off the balls and some of them had a more sand specs on them. This was right after the range, it wore off and wasn’t as distinguished after the round. Here is my 7 iron below that I didn’t hit on the range but hit 4-5 times during the round. I really think the sand on golf balls or a sandy range could play a factor into more wear on these clubs. Will have to watch and clean off the balls on the range for now on. russtopherb, RollingGreens, Nunfa0 and 7 others 10 Quote Cobra Connect 5 participant G410 Plus, w/ X stiff 75 g Project X Evenflow Black shaft driver / Radspeed w/ Smoke RDX Blue 70S shaft Big Tour 3 wood/ 5 wood w/ Fujikura X F3 60S shaft 4 Hybrid w/ Project X Catalyst 80S shaft Copper MIM Tour Irons w/ KBS $ Taper Balck 120S shaft Snakebite 50, 54, and 58 wedges w/ KBS Hi-Rev 2.0 125S shaft Newport 2.5 putter MTB X golf balls RH, Alabama

It's to be expected. I'm too nervous to hit these off a sandy range...and the next time I hit into a fairway bunker during a round, I just might take a penalty and drop outside the bunker to save the finish. Sandy range balls will tear up any iron, regardless of finish. I remember taking my new Ping i210 irons and seeing the hydropearl finish get torn up after one session on a sandy hitting area. Popular Post txgolfjunkie
Another round in the books and I'm starting to see some trends with these clubs... Driver and 3W need additional weight in the head. Both are light and I'm losing feeling in the swing. I ordered some weights for the driver and they should arrive Thursday but I'll just use some lead tape for the fairway. Drives are still short low draws (use to hit high fades) and 3 wood is a pull draw instead of a pull fade. The driver is still double digit yards behind my gamer and I'm hoping the weight helps with that. Irons are flying straighter than I'm used to. I usually play a slight fade to hold the greens but I'm just hitting straight ball after straight ball. I hit a good number of greens today but of my 18 approach shots, 15 were right of the pin. No fade. I lived on the right side of the greens all day. Wedges are really great. Really, really great. The greens were soft and grainy with not much run out which allowed me to fly my chips closer to the hole. Great spin control around the greens and on half shots. Overall it's still a learning process and I just need to aim for a straight ball off the irons and aim down the left fairway off the tee box. We're getting there... Slowly but surely. Very interesting. I too ham seeing pull draws with my Driver. Something I had practically eliminated with my gamer driver. I am playing the driver in neutral, the 3w at -1 and the 7 wood at -1.5 right now. The lower loft is mainly to give me a slightly more open face look at address gavinski91, sirchunksalot, GolfSpy_SHARK and 1 other

We were in such a hurry to get through the round I didn't get many good shots of the maiden voyage with my new Cobra sticks. However, one mosquito did land on my ball just before I hit and this was the end result: I'll clean up some video and add some shots/round summary with the arccos. The wedges around the greens were the biggest surprise of the day. Just amazing feel and excellent spin control, even in the wet conditions. The next time you play in Galveston I expect an invite damn those copper irons are sexy! TBT
My F7 driver was very draw biased as well, I ended up having to order some different weights to straighten it out some gavinski91 and myherobobhope 2 Quote XR Driver Matrix Ozik 8m3 Black Tie Shaft King F7 3W UST Mamiya Chrome Elements 7F4 Shaft King F7 5W UST Mamiya Chrome Elements 7F4 Shaft King F7 4 Hybrid Graphite Designs Tour AD-HY 95 Shaft PXG 0211 DC 5-PW Mitsubishi MMT 80 Shafts RTX ZIPCORE 50*,54*,58* UST Mamiya Recoil 95 Shafts Metal X Milled #7 with SuperStroke 2.0 grip MTB Twitter: @timldotson Instagram: timldotson Facebook: TimDotson

If it it was as simple as putting a new driver adapter on, maybe. My Mizunos fit me like a glove and I’m not going to do anything to jeopardize those. I’m going to be doing my best to give as much feedback about the MIMs as possible in with the build cobra sent me. If anything, it will provide everyone with a reminder to never sacrifice your fitting results because a certain shaft is back ordered. Oh man… I’ve been gaming a hobbled together set of irons for a year (bought used beads, was going to buy shafts, but they needed parallel tips, so i used pulls from the club pro)… hit my preferred shafts last night at a srixon fitting and immediately ordered them… get the right shaft! Crazy arrows, it's never the Indian! It all seriousness, I'm hoping the added weight in the driver head, and some lead tape out on the toe of the 3W will help straighten out the ball flight. You would think the added weight will keep the head from closing down too fast at impact.
