Thank you for saying stroke instead of shot. My interpretation is only one stroke per course.

Really looking forward to this but not gonna lie and gonna admit I'm a bit concerned about the old joints and back holding out playing that much golf two days in a row...

I’ve been trying to build up for it. Only walking 18 right now. No carts. 18 is a piece of cake. Mid April I’ll walk 18 and then drive home and play 18 on the simulator. That should be good until mid May then I’ll plan on walking 27. 
 I don’t know how you guys did pairings in Maryland but if anyone just wants to do a scramble on the second round Saturday I’m okay with that. I’m totally flexible (not literally)

Asking for a friend  if someone is coming from the HQ testing location and wanted to bring one of those Teeless Drivers, it would be something that someone with a low swing speed could give a couple rounds of golf under well observed testing conditions for performance for someone with, say a 25 handicap or something like that.  Maybe other such clubs or testing things too.  Just saying we might be able to work several layers of MGSness into this Forum outing.

I am coming from the general location; however,  I don't have access to their storage facility.  I have heard that @GolfSpy_Xmight be in attendance; he might be a good individual to bring some unique/not readily available/hard to find things for people to try at the outing.   Not sure how much he is on the forum but @Golfspy_CG2might be in communication and can put in a good word.   Next time I see him,  I'll try to remember to make a suggestion.

Thinking ahead to Talamore and maybe it is a bit early to start this kind of thing, maybe it should be moved to a message communication with just those attending but also thinking how continuing here will whet the appetite for others to make the commitment for future MGS Forum Meet-ups.

Reading what is on the reservation confirmation page, the Lodges have 2 bedrooms with 2 queen beds each and a bathroom ensuite for those sharing the room.  Not that any lasting mental scarring happened last time or anything  but is it just going to be first arrive gets first choice or is buddying up going to be a thing this time?   

Also hoping that this time, like last time is going to have all of us gathering often to spend the weekend time together, having food/meals, drinks, and singing Kumbaya again  okay maybe not the singing as we must have at least one form of decorum, maybe.

Just got an email from Frontier Air .. thought I had a decent schedule for NY-RDU and back, but no .. no longer.....

Flight no longer non-stop .. takes off later in the day, then stops in Orlando (???!!!???), then gets to Raleigh 9:03 PM on Friday.

Monday return also takes off later .. stops in Orlando for 6 ½ hours .. gets to NY 12:44 AM in the middle of the night.....

..bleeping expletive bleeped expletives...

 

So - who was driving down from the NE region..?? Might wanna talk about ride-sharing.....

That is bizarre. I don’t fly often anymore but never heard of an airline changing a schedule like that.

On the plus side there is time to adjust with 65 days to go.  Wait 65 DAYS???!

My plan is driving Thursday from Buffalo area to Raleigh and then into Southern Pines on Friday, return to Raleigh Sunday après golf shenanigans and onward to Buffalo area Monday.

Yeah it's an insane change! The additional travel time makes that flight completely not worthwhile. Gonna see if I can get a refund (not likely) or a travel credit...
