Popular Post RichL85
Morning all. Slept in a little bit today but starting to caffinate now. Not sure what the plans are for the day yet but hopefully nothing too stressful. I don't think any of us can handle a lot more right now. Will definitely get out of the house for a bit this afternoon, but otherwise I'm hoping for a fairly quiet weekend. I have some work to catch up on from last week and I don't want to stress over it honestly. Popular Post Indy_Oz
Happy Saturday, Spies! Firstly, what a testing opportunity to wake up to. Fantastic work @GolfSpy_APH and team getting Taylormade on board for this one. They're stunning clubs in person. Zero golf on the agenda today for me. Started the day with a relaxing coffee shop visit with my wife and a group of locals, followed by a walk around the village farmer's market. Yard work, dog walking and kids' soccer will make up the rest of the day and some of tomorrow. Need to use this weekend to get the back yard presentable ahead of having friends over for informal celebration/commiseration of my reaching the half century. We have an unplanned pumpkin patch forming that needs to be brought under control... (there's a lawn under this!) We dumped a couple of pumpkins next to our compost bins last Fall and forgot about them. Now there are six (that we have spotted) about the size of soccer balls and it continues to spread and grow. Ha ha. This was on the plans to be a future putting green area, but that may be deferred a couple of years now. Nice of the US to have a holiday weekend to celebrate me . Five more years and it's discounted green fees and membership. Ha ha @RichL85- sorry for your loss. Losing a furry family member is always tough. Have a great weekend all! Sitting here watching the Women's Open with GF and sharing my Old Course stories with her. She swears I never told her this stuff before; I'm pretty sure I did but I don't mind an opportunity to tell them again. She actually recognized the R&A clubhouse behind the first tee as the backdrop for my avatar photo. Photo below is me about to bounce my tee shot on 17 off the outbuildings at the Old Course Hotel. Fortunately it came back inbounds, one of the few things that went right that day. @RichL85 sorry about your daughter's fur baby. As a certified crazy cat guy I've been there many times. GF has lost four cats since I've known her and is still mourning all four. @Northern Monkey nice course. Hit 'em straight and putt 'em straighter! As poorly as I played that day at the OC (well north of 100; I'm not exactly sure how far north because I took an X on 2 after I couldn't get out of the fairway bunker), I managed not to go OB. My tee shot on 17 bounced back inbounds off the outbuilding and TV cables from the previous day's TV tournament (American colleges) kept me inbounds on 15, I think. Nelly, however, could not say the same; the wind blew her tee shot OB on 16 and she made a double. William P, Wib081, sirchunksalot and 8 others 11 Quote Obsessed with chasing the dimpled orb. Popular Post Byrnzee
Good morning Spies! Day 3 in Italy and we're headed out from Rome to the Amalfi Coast for the next few nights. Today we'll be taking a train to Naples before taking a ferry to Sorrento. We'll be stopping for pizza in Naples since we've heard they have some of the best. Will be watching the Formula 1 race in Sorrento once we check-in to out hotel and find a pub that's showing it. One thing that's been a bummer since being over here is not being able to watch any of the golf! I was hoping I'd be able to watch the Women's Open since we're around the same time, but my streaming services all don't work over here. Same thing goes for the men's BMW Championship. Might have to get a VPN free-trial to try and make it happen. @Cfhandyman congrats on 1K posts! Here’s to many more ahead and your appreciated contributions to the Forum. I want one. I have an older one put back from MGS that Adam and the staff sent some of us early timers some years ago. LOL I had it on my Mini Titleist staff bag with my Muirfield blades. This was back when I could take and store pics. LOL one of the guys on WRX was asking about my Muirfields in the classic section. I posted a pic not thinking and the big MGS tag for all to see. I drew a 3 day suspension for that. For some reason they are really sensitive about MGS on there. Of course I do not have to worry about that anymore. Popular Post BIG STU
Up this Am coffee in hand as I guess everyone can see Yesterday the wife and I played the Par3. None of the folks showed up. In fact we had the course to ourselves for like 12 holes. It was windy as heck with wind coming off the ocean. With no one on the course It gave me opportunity to practice some knock down wedge shots. If I had been playing seriously I would have added my 7 iron into the clubs for play. With our breaks and my practice we still turned it in like 2hrs and 10 minutes. The new breakfast place we wanted to try was crowded and had people waiting to be seated. We said screw that. LOL I asked the wife if she knew what she wanted to eat? I called in our order to the Garden City Pancake House which my bud and his wife own. We got our usual seat over where the staff takes their break. We got in got seated and had our food in like 5 minutes. Came home and showered in time to catch the last 3 holes or so from the Women's Open live. Did catch most of the BMW switching back and forth to the Senior event. I must have worked myself pretty hard yesterday because I went to sleep in the chair. I really slept well last night but I am not sore or stiff this AM Got first tee time at my course this AM playing with my league bud and my other bud Big Bear is Joining us. Plan on my usual Sunday after golf coming home shower and eat breakfast then watch my services on TV. We're heading out in a bit to meet up with some friends and go out on their boat - just a small one set up for fishing, not a big luxury yacht - and so far it looks like a nice day here mostly clear and not too hot. And yes will be wearing an SPF shirt, cheap sunglasses and bringing a wide brim hat. And packing a few Arnies too. Anyway how the day goes well for you; get out there and do something fun!! It's strangely quiet without them. Popular Post Josh Parker
Good morning! Successful dinner last night with the entire family minus my brother. 2 racks of ribs, a brisket and smoked cream cheese. Wife made her homemade mac and cheese. Plan on getting out this morning and playing a round and then spend the rest of the day hanging with the kiddos and wife. Congrats @Cfhandyman on the 1K post. Always enjoy reading your contributions. @Byrnzee enjoy the trip! Have a great day everyone! Popular Post Rob Person
Good morning spies. Last duty day, and it can't end quick enough! Monthly reports due today. As a supervisor, I loathe paperwork! A necessity nonetheless... Have a great day spies! Popular Post Wheelieb
Morning All, I have the first “tee time” this morning at the local tire shop. Got to get my tires rotated and checked to see if my alignment is good or not. If not, I had gotten the lifetime alignment package which already makes that free along with the tire rotation. Drinking some coffee before heading up there. Got the futon put together and there is a missing bolt, since it was taken apart for us it isn’t surprising. And it’s not really an important bolt as it wouldn’t affect(effect? I am terrible with these two words) anything of its function. Hoping to get some putting practice in in the garage this afternoon. Hope everyone has a great day.
