First I need to check my alignment, some of the videos were to the side.

So it looks like you still get all the numbers your looking for and don't have to have the unit lined up perfectly behind the ball then? If so then this is great because it can be a pain in the but to get my Garmin R10 lined up perfectly for accurate numbers.

Mixed bag of goodies: Taylormade M2 driver, Titleist F15 3 wood, Nike 5 wood, Mizuno 923 Hmp irons, Cleveland zipcore wedges and Odyssey 3 ball putter.

Took the Rapsodo for a spin yesterday. I just realized as I was about to start writing that I didn't take a single picture. I have about 90 shots on video. I hope I can put a couple up here.

You need to take 5-10 minutes to set your bag up, that's what it took me anyway. Clubs are color coded and also listed by 6,5,4, driver, 3 wood or whatever clubs you have. You can list more than 14, I am not sure how many you can have. There is a feature called "Inventory" for those that like to swap clubs out of their bag or trying new/different clubs. Pretty cool for that reason and easily interchangeable from "your bag" to "Inventory".

It is light weight has sweet carry case that zips and everything fits tightly. I put in one of the pockets of my golf bag. The only issue I see with this is remembering to take it out and charge it, That's on me. It is Super easy to set up, much easier than the original. The options and ease to be able to switch metrics like, ball speed, Club Speed, Launch, total yards just to name a few is awesome.

I am running short on time this morning, I will come back and post up a couple vids and write some more on this,

I pulled up the simulator and it looks pretty cool. I didn't use it, but I will. I am looking forward to that.

Short version of 1st impression, I really like it, but there is a lot more to go thru.

Got to the school early yesterday morning to hit the range with the Rapsodo. I started out by going through some practice and hitting to get warmed up. When you open the Rapsodo app, you have three options to choose from - Practice, Combines, and Simulation.

IMG_5338.png.2c51cdec264074bc247de5f6afbfb36c.png

To start, I chose the practice feature to get warmed up. After warmup, I decided to hit simulation and head to the range. When at the range, I have been happy with the quick response of the shot and the tracer it provides. After hitting the shot, it takes about a second to see your ball flight. Although simplistic in its design, the range works exactly how I want it to.

IMG_5331.png.1efe59f02287a572eeb477207cb2b4b2.png

I have enjoyed using the range to see where my ball is headed when hitting into a net. My biggest challenge last year was hitting into the net but having no idea where the ball was going. With the Rapsodo MLMPro2, that concern has been washed away. I was able to play a couple of courses too, but will play more and provide insight on the simulation aspect soon. So far, this is a great device and a heck of a deal!

My feeling too, with the net being do close to us, I feel that without a launch monitor, it is almost impossible to know where that shot would have gone in the course.

I'm glad you also like it.

Yep the numbers were spot on even on the shots you can barely see the hitting area.

By the back nine, I would check what is the distance between the tee box and the green on my apple watch, I was using the golfshot app, the drive down to the exact distance and direction the rapsodo indicated my ball went, and it was perfect every time.

One big thing with the rapsodo, I think that the rapsodo hitting area is very generous and even if your ball is outside the little yellow box on the screen, it still tracks well.

Had a great session today which I will upload a bunch later, but so far I've only played a handful of holes and a lot of practice.

Any of the testers try out the combine and what are your thoughts on it?

One underappreciated part of the Rapsodo MLM2 Pro is the camera and the video feedback it provides. The picture it provides is very clear and the video aspect is much larger than the predecessor Rapsodo MLM. I have attached two videos, one from the original MLM and one from the MLM2 Pro.

Great stuff so far everyone! How big of a distance are you having to place the hitting area from the net? Is it the typical 8 feet of ball flight it needs to see?

When I have hit into the net, I have been anywhere between 6-8 feet from the net. Same thing for the launch monitor set up behind me. I haven't seen anything that impacts the data.

I’ve got the original MLM and trying to get within the frame is a pain, so I agree this is much improved. 2 questions:

1) Does the MLM 2 have any issues with overheating in direct sunlight, now that isn’t reliant on the iPhone for the camera?

2) When setting it up on the range, do you still pick your location and direction you are hitting? With the original, I’ve noticed I have to hit it “right” of where I indicated the target would be, in order to have the shot tracer indicate a straight ball flight rather than a pull. Is this still an issue?

Does the MLM2 tell you if you’re hitting down or up on the ball?  Know this is an option with the Mevo Plus pro subscription.

granted, also know that is way more expensive.

I think the reason the video is so much better is, the original MLM (like I have) uses your own phone camera, whereas the MLM 2.0 has two cameras baked in. So the control of the camera, including auto-focus and wider angles, can be manipulated by the firmware.

Really great to see these videos side-by-side. Thanks for doing that! Now, I really want the new one….. and it is your fault 😉

1 - No issues with heating up, I used in the range with direct sunlight, the entire session was just about an hour and half, and no issues at all. As for my back yard there is not direct sun on the unit, so no issue there either.

2- Yes when setting it up you need to pick a direction to hit, but it is very simple and fast.

Thanks for the info gents! It is good that the overheating iPhone issues seem to be resolved. To my second question, do you find the direction you choose is accurately reflected in the results. With the original, I feel like I have to aim right of the target line to get my shots to show up on the report as straight or “on target”

Thanks for the info gents! It is good that the overheating iPhone issues seem to be resolved. To my second question, do you find the direction you choose is accurately reflected in the results. With the original, I feel like I have to aim right of the target line to get my shots to show up on the report as straight or “on target”

In the range yes, my sessions have been accurate.

and during course play, I did not reset the unit for every shot, so it track as the first hole set up, I was sitting by the starters hut when I set up on the course.

Following this thread with interest! A question for the testers, did any of you have a net prior to this that you used without a launch monitor? I have a net that I use almost daily without any feedback other than feel on the clubface and I believe this will greatly enhance that experience. It is outdoors but on a level spot and I would be hitting off a mat with plenty of space behind for the monitor.

Does the MLM2 tell you if you’re hitting down or up on the ball?  Know this is an option with the Mevo Plus pro subscription.

granted, also know that is way more expensive.

Angle of Attack is a parameter included in the MEVO Plus base software and does not require the pro package add on. To get horizontal club path, etc. requires the pro plan.

I have been using a net without anything for awhile, and the difference is striking, without the MLMPRO, all I got is if the shot sounded right or not, but those few feet and fraction of a second from leaving the clubface and hitting the net, were never enough to get any real information on how that should would have ended up in the course.

Now I get that instant feedback, of the distance, shape and all of the other great metrics the unit has to offer, it is a truly much more informative and rewarding experience, and as a bonus, even in the range I am keeping my head down more even after impact, and I do not feel I need to rush and view where my shot went.

AoA is also a part of the Garmin R10 stats, shockingly. It's the only one in the sub $1000 category that includes it.

Thanks so much. This may make me try to MEVO then as I think the data seems to be slightly more accurate. Appreciate the help.
