The Good Evening Thread

Good evening Spies on a Monday that was wet, then sunny and very humid in the afternoon and evening.

Spent the better part of the day doing things needed so when we leave on Friday, everything will be good to go until we get back.

More rain overnight and in the morning again for tomorrow, so just more finishing up things to do again for me. Don't mind it as most of the work is indoors or in the garage.

@Erin B really hope that @Preeway, @cksurfdude, and @BallsLeon have safe travels and a great time in Nebraska.

As far as @Dead Solid Bogey goes, the last date he logged in or was on the forum was June 26, so really hoping that all is OK in that situation.

@Rob Person bike looks great, and I hope you have a blast on your adventure!

Steadfast had a bad wrap during the first go but haven't heard the same the second time around. If it works, it works!  

I have several Newton shafts and do like them but always go back to steadfast. I have a 6 dot, two 5 dots and a 4 dot. They’re great shafts but I’m hitting the steadfast so much more consistently. I’m glad I have the Newton shafts. The 6 dot in my 425 is longer than the steadfast, but it takes some power to keep it straight. That’s fine, and it stays in my 425 as a wind equalizer, but I hit the callaway clubs so much more consistently with the steadfast. It was a hard choice, (not really) I’m sticking with steadfast.

Forgot to tell u gentlemen, big news in the golf world today.. Hit my first green side flop.. My golfing buddy hits this shot all the time so I was primed to do it..Took a 56° and gave it a full, hard swing about 10 yards off the green.. Went about 35 ft or so straight up and landed right beside my feet in the same place .. Guess Rome wasn't built in a day huh

Wow! Not a great round for the first one.

two penalties on 3 for an 8. So sad about that. 33 putts not great. Let you know how the second goes.

Evening spies. Had a decent day as RangerRob duties go, but then I played 9 holes and crushed it! Shot a 39!  Video in the how'd you play posts. 

Back on real duty next 2 days. Light duty is over!  Have not had a single mishap like last week.

Good evening Spies on a now cooler and drier Tuesday.

After the rain stopped this morning, spent the majority of the day outdoors while it was still hot and humid.

Had to get some things completed and managed to get a bit more than halfway through the whole project.

Had to take a couple breaks due to sweating and getting "overheated" but tomorrow should be lower temperatures and humidity so I should get it wrapped up, especially if I start earlier and hope the neighbors don't complain.

Great playing @Rob Person and I will check out the video. @Erin B considering the 8 on the card, and not knowing where the less than desired results on other holes may have impacted your score, the card doesn't look too terrible.

I couldn’t hit a straight drive today. Anothe 200 yard day for the 6 iron though. I’m taking the next two days off to recover. 36 today was not a good idea. Learned a lot though. Putting was better on the second round, shot one over on the front just to fall apart on the back. Was super tired so I have that.

Well, the course and patrons both survived my foray into the world of marshalling today  To say it was hot would be an understatement, 104* and I didn't bother to check heat index cause at that temp I don't really think it matters much... Other than that, it was a pleasant indoctrination.

@Erin B While I realize you don't consider this round up to your personal standards, I consider it a very respectable round in my realm of scoring. You're going to kill it in the second round!

After 33 holes I believe not getting tired would be quite an accomplishment. That was one hell of a 6i shot!

Hi and good evening mis amigos! Have a flared up tendon in my elbow so that could explain some driving. Don’t worry @Preeway @BallsLeon @cksurfdude I’m still gonna head your way. I have lidocaine patches and compression sleeves. I’ll be good. And I’ll have anti inflammatory meds. In the meme time enjoy the pics I came across today.

Sounds like your driving game is on par with mine lately. But I can’t blame a bad elbow. Mine are just plain bad. My alignment at address is my biggest culprit these days. At least I know what my problem is but knowing doesn’t seem to be 1/2 the battle no matter what GI Joe says. 

On the upside, my putting is as strong as ever and my chipping is gradually improving. 24 hours from we’ll be on the road to Gothenburg.

I do believe arriving at Bayside a lot earlier than normal could help us both work this out. Plus I really want to test out all the toys, lol.

Good evening Spies from yet another day that liquid humidity fell and ruined the best laid plans for getting to the range.

Did manage to get my "special project" completed, and I am hoping that with the better weather forecast for Thursday, I get a round in this week before heading to Wisconsin on Friday.

Plan is to get a couple rounds in while there, but unsure of courses we may play.

Looking forward to seeing some pictures and recaps from the members meeting up in Nebraska over the weekend as well.

Hope that all here had the best day that was possible, and that any issues with finding the fairways get worked out before you play next.

Bayside is known for handing out free shots during your round at the turn. If we aren’t loose before we start, we can get looser for the back nine.

I feel your pain in the elbow. I just had another cortisone injection. It didn’t work this time so, the doctor says I need to have surgery on my right elbow. However, I am doing my best to put it off till winter. Hope your elbow heals soon!
