With the P770s to test, I can now put a JMX grip on one of my P790s and a spare 56* wedge and give them a go at the range and sim. I'll game the 56* wedge to try the grip out. Once the P-series test is complete, I'll look at fitting all JMX STR8 grips on the irons and wedges to complete the set.

I am impressed with them. I was shocked at the feel I still had on my 58*.  Loving the woods and today's test with the PW worked really well. I'm jumping ship and going for it.

That's great to hear! I love them on my driver, FWs and hybrid. Just hadn't jumped and tried them on the irons.

How were they to blow on? I've not dabbled with using compressed air to install and remove grips, so mine are all with regular double sided tape and fluid so far.

Super simple. I'll snap a photo tomorrow of the tool I used. These are too big for the star grip tool.  I use masking tape and haven't had any issues at all.

That seems to be common theme among the JMX users… Everyone is surprised at the feel they still have with the wedges! I think I’m going to have to put one on one of my old wedges and give it a go for myself!

They were super easy to put on with air! It’s easier that you think. I did have mine twist after about 5 simulator sessions and 5-7 rounds. So be looking out for that. Someone else said using athletic tape instead of masking tape has worked for them but I haven’t tried it personally.

I would absolutely say give it a try. The rest of mine should arrive Monday or Tuesday.

I am going to have to pay attention to the grips. I use masking tape but could always switch to athletic tape if I see slipping.

Shoot I don't honestly know what pressure. It's prob set at 45-60psi if I had to guess. With that particular tool you can press the handle more or less to control the amount of air.

Just found one on Amazon for $8.

For new grips, I use 40 psi midsized grips. To blow old ones off, I’ll take it up to 60 and work the grip while applying pressure. If they don’t come off at that pressure I cut them. I haven’t tried the jumbo grips yet. Haven’t gotten to the store yet.

I could play golf every day and learn something new each time.

I use 55-60 PSI for the JMX. I used about 45 with a conventional midsize grip. Good luck!

I was going to ask about this too! Thanks for sharing. I thought it would be a golf grip specific tool. Good to know the standard taper fitting works, I have one or two of those for my compressor. I'll have to give it a try. Masking tape is interesting- thanks. I'd seen people mention cloth tape and only today watched a youtube video of a mini driver fitting where the fitter used an air compressor to switch grips over for the subject of the fitting to try. It was cool to see it in use. The fitter made a comment about masking tape being good for fittings, but longer term use could result in the grip slowly working its way round.

Well, I did a thing this morning because of some of you… got my old Sub70 286 58* wedge and had a spare JMX Tour Series Blackout XS from when I was testing a couple of different grips (I prefer the STR8 Tech grips). I’m going to see for myself how these grips work on wedges!

I'm a big fan at least for driver.  I'm sure how I'd handle it through the bag, but on the driver it's perfect.  I have tried all three and I like the Zen Max the best as has everyone else who has tried my clubs.  But I have so much more confidence with being able to reduce grip pressure.

I bet these would help other baseball/softball coverts feel more natural.

Well, I did a thing this morning because of some of you… got my old Sub70 286 58* wedge and had a spare JMX Tour Series Blackout XS from when I was testing a couple of different grips (I prefer the STR8 Tech grips). I’m going to see for myself how these grips work on wedges!

I will be completely honest.  I play the MCC Plus 4, and I really like them, so I have not tried the Jumbo max.  I have gripped one before, I guess I need to try it out.  Is it better to try as a one off for long irons or a FW for a test run?

I started with driver. I was flipping my hands and had a 2-way miss. JMX grip helped quieten hands and reduced pull/hook miss.
After that I moved on to fitting FW and hybrid. Irons and wedges are next for me- I’ve just delayed jumping in on those.

Others may have started with irons and some may have just jumped in with both feet and gone full set.
