There is an ascending distant option where it increases by a yard for each turn. Has anyone managed to get every distance from 2-15 in a row? The closest I've got is 13/15

I'll give that one a try too.  I need to try out a few more of the modes on the TV, but I also tried on my iPad, which looks like it's limited to just Practice mode right now.  I was surprised by that because I figured having the extra power and memory of the iPad would be helpful.

Also, it looks a lot better on the 65 inch TV than it does on our 77 (humble brag). 🤣  The UI could use a refresh to get to 4K quality if folks will mainly be using these hooked up to the TV.

You just need a photo to complete the brag! 😆

How does the UI look on the iPad? Does the UI turn into touch input or are you still using the Exputt controller?

The beast:

IMG_1141.jpeg

The actual modes are fine, it’s more the menus that look bad. I’ll have to get a fresh shot of that.

the iPad works with touch controls and is probably the way I’d prefer to use it. But the TV and remote works quick too.

Rolled about 100 putts today, tried to use the analysis mode and I not sure if I didn't use it correctly but I haven't been able to get any results, I do get the putt distance report but no other data even after5 sessions. I have a micro SD card inserted. Anyone else having any issues like that? I'm going to keep trying different ways to figure out what I may be doing wrong.

I figured it out it was all user error, finally started to get the analyses giving data that I can see after each session in that mode, now just got to get 5 sessions under the belt so it can unlock Pandora's box of additional information.

More to come...

ExPutt Analysis Practice Mode

Finally figured out how to really use the practice analysis mode, I rolled 3 rounds in the mode.

Each round switched to the data screen after I think was 20 putts per session.

Right now I'm struggling with the putter path cutting across the ball at impact and leaving the face open a bit I guess to unconsciously compensate for the swing path.

My distance control has been pretty good, overall the ExPutt does a good job with measuring distance, however I noticed what ever distance that I hit the ball with less authority , say on a 20 foot putt, the ball will go 25 feet or more, then I will give the stroke a little more persuasion and it the putt comes up short. That's just the feeling I get when I know I hit it good and then comes up short and vice versa.

Here is some of the screen shots of my few sessions, but yes I know I need to improve a few aspects of my putting.

ExPutt has helped identify and provided reliable data to back up the issues.

Right now in the middle of this testing the arrow is definitely trending upward and the feedback it is providing is better than I expected at this point.

I haven't necessarily paged through these yet it will be interesting to see how that changes over time and hopefully get closer toward 0 on each graph or at least on the path and impact angle becomes consistent around the same number.

Catching up on this test - thanks for all the great updates!

Has anyone found any issues with putting on carpet? Would you recommend putting on a hard surface, or is low/medium/high pile carpet still accurate?

I didn't notice that I was getting bad reading on the higher-pile carpet that we have, that said... I think I'll throw a firm foam or something below it just to ensure I'm not getting any wonky start line issues.

So far my biggest issue is syncing up my minds distance with the ExPutts distance on anything north of 30 feet.  I'm a big visual/feel putter, so not seeing that distance on a real green has been hard outside of that closer range.

The Analysis mode is 18 random putts from 10’-50’. The only difference you see when you enter Analysis mode is that there is a little golf ball in the bottom left corner of the screen that starts at 18 and counts down after each putt. And like you discovered, the data is unlocked after 5 sessions.
Have you found any data on the SD card? I don’t have an SD card in mine and I’m wondering if it would have made the data easier to get than logging every putt on an excel sheet after I hit it.

Stickers help with face angle at impact and path readings. When I added the stickers I was getting readings 98+% of the time. I did improve my lighting setup and no longer require the stickers and still get readings 90+% of the time.

I’ve been trying multiple putters and one doesn’t have the dots on it and the readings appear to be the same consistency as the the putters with the dots. I arranged my lighting source shine more down on the putting surface and seems to have improved the overall experience.

I haven’t notice any difference when I have located the putting surface on carport or a hard surface. Readings have been consistent either way, I have mine on the carpet and found once in place if you stretch the putt surface just a little it will roll very well. The only thing I do is fluff the carpet or press it down under the starting point of the putt.

it definitely takes some practice and thinking to register the distance in your mind since the depth perception is off. I notice when playing a round last week Istarted out with my distance being a little off, then I was able to judge more affectively.

Sorry I didn’t get to see this response, but I have the same success with or without the dots. That being said my lighting is pretty strong over the practice area.

Just getting caught up on this test.

I've read so many replies that the answer has eluded me.

Has anyone had a major on course improvement ratio compared to the sim practice?

I was one of the testers of the original ExPutt and my distance control improved.   I think how you approach putting will impact potential improvement.  If you are more visual/feel like @GolfSpy BOSmentioned above you may struggle with figuring out distance.  If you are more technical and correlate distance with a stroke length you will probably be more successful on the course.   I think it is also good for face at impact evaluation and seeing how well you can control the face for various stroke lengths which definitely translates to the course.

So ExPutt testers and followers- I've been baffled by the data I was getting for the stroke path, seemed like I was averaging 3,4 sometimes 5 and above with the stroke path cutting across the ball and leaving the face open a pinch.  Wheels started turning and after putting with a couple other putters I narrowed the issue down to my gamer and found that the putter was not squared to the putter face it was twist to the right.

I removed it with the air compressor and reinstalled it making sure it was parallel with the face and my putting quickly improved with my gamer.

ExPutt made me start looking for the answers that would fix my stroke. Glad I was dazed and confused for a bit, if the data that the ExPutt was providing was not accurate I would not have found the issue with my putter.

ExPutt is definitely very consistent with the data its providing for the stroke analyses, I'm looking to improve the stroke data since the grip fix and now going to really focus of distance on the 10 to 20ft range as well as the 35 to 50ft area. Although reasonably good there is room for improvement.

More to come .....
