The suspense keeps on building.... Best of luck to those that advance.

Based on a really rough estimate of the relationship between raw score and the stableford score of how people performed in Week 1 and looking at the raw results for week 2 .... I think I have an idea of who is going through

My estimated stableford score cutline is 37pts

If true, I believe I'm am right outside the Top 10

Maybe I'm wrong and I made it through.

Regardless, it's been a great season and a couple really fun tournaments. It's my first year here on the forum and it's been fantastic. Thank you all for establishing such a wonderful and welcoming community.

Good luck to all as we await with eager anticipation for the official scores to get posted

I may have peaked too early. I shot a PB last week and ended up at the top of the list. Way beyond my expectations. I was just happy to be playing a second week. Now I am in for the third and final week. I never expected to get this far. However I finish this has been a great season.  Good luck to everyone.

OK, before the drum roll for week 2 results and who made it to the final week for the MGS year end Stapleford tournament, let me take a chance to fix my spreadsheet error from week one.

Here are the results from week one:

image.png.2aa844cfe9a32bb513a1a9ede28fc819.png

I tracked down my spreadsheet error and it was a misplaced "1" on Mr. Mushball's score that prevented him from having his course handicap accurately applied.  Sorry about that!

With that corrected, here are the results for the week two:

image.png.96491bf0533c5220f5798e2ca7ccad62.png

In a very tight contest, the cut line was established at the top ten (and ties) moves forward.   As you can see, the cut line was at 35 points which dragged in three additional people above the cut line which will give us 13 going into the final week of the competition.  The next four golfers who missed advancing were two or less points from making the cut.

There was some impressive golf!  If round 2 is any indication, the championship will come down to a few strokes, one or two points or a tie breaker.  As a reminder, the first tie breaker will be most net birdies, then most net eagles and finally (and let's hope it doesn't come down to this) a flip of a coin!

Good luck to all who made it to the championship round!  I look forward to seeing all your scores.

Woohoo!

Sunshine, blue skies, and 70 degrees on October 22 in Michigan is a rare treat and a good day for golf.

Steady wind of about 15MPH from the south-southwest with gusts of 25 - 30MPH made club selection and GIR tricky at times.

Played well except for a couple shots, back to back with the same club on hole 13. Operator error more than anything, topped the first hybrid from the fairway about 60 yards, then hooked the second one left and chipped on and 2 putted for a bogey that should not have happened if I stuck to my goal of playing 'safe" golf.

Hit 9 of 14 fairways, those missed were not far off, more due to doglegs and through fairways. Only 4 of 18 official GIR's due to leaving myself in places where trouble was out of play. Short game was good, as I only had 27 putts total, with many 1 putt greens.

Longest drive was 250 yards, also on hole 13, and only used driver on 5 holes total.

Pictures of some of the fall colors here, will post more in the How Did You Play thread.

Thanks to @GolfSpy_BEN and @Golf2Much for putting all their efforts and work into this Virtual Tour this year. 👍  😎

Congratulations to those that made the cut! Some great golf out there. I shot a gross 2 over and wasn’t even close!

It was a close week to be sure. Great shooting as always @Javs. I think I benefited from my son trying to beat me which pushed me to stay focused. Going to finish the season by playing at Arbor Links on Sunday afternoon. This course has been feast or famine for me which means I could be challenging for 1st place or stuck in 13th, lol. Good luck to everyone who made the final week.

I played the silver tees. Not a bad weather day today. Hard to believe it’s the middle of October. There were record highs set in the area today. My round was pretty good overall. I was driving the ball well. I kept my drives in the fairway. Putting speed was good, but my direction was off just a little bit. It was a fun time participating the season this year. That’s to everyone that set up the events.  IMG_4442.jpeg.ea17f6bc94fb3d17b7ff16eda70a1bf3.jpeg

I gave it a go.   Not many birdie chances.  2 over on the front.  Had my best shot at hitting the green in 2 on 15.  Par 5.   Had 196 in after a low bullet down the right side that rolled out into uncharted territory for me.  Yanked it left and a little long.  Chunky pitch.  2 putt par.  17 into the sun had no idea where it went.  It was in the bunker.  Bladed it across the green.  Double.  Might have one more shot at getting a round in, but not looking promising.  If not, it’s been a good run and a ton of fun.  IMG_6179.png.3be404150391ac3dbdff2cc009a3b7e4.pngIMG_6178.jpeg.058c0a2ce59b8601c3a579dc6bec8e77.jpeg
