Tiger playing a much higher spinning ball then most, and usually he is the last to make any changes which has been evident since his signing with Nike when he kept the Titleist 970 series 3 wood for many years before changing. Tiger changes to whatever club/ball/equipment when he feels it helps his game. has been that way his whole career.

It is interesting. I guess that says a lot for the VR_S Covert 5 Wood then for him to make the change to that fairly quickly.

It's really honestly hard to say since Tigers (woods) are usually one of prototypes. They may look similar to the Nike retail offering but there never quite exact. But the one Tiger is using does have the New Covert technology is there.

I have been reading "The Big Miss" and Haney was talking about exactly that. Tiger apparently thinks that having more spin around the greens is more important than the distance to be gained in going for the newer firmer balls. I find this funny, because when Nike was marketing a ball that was supposedly his ball it was really firm. Haney also said that no other tour pro plays that ball and they are specially still made just for Him. He also said that with a modern ball and a driver that also spins less Tiger could be a lot longer. That is just crazy to think about.

It's all about the short game, unless you can't keep it in play!

What's in my Bag:
Driver: Adams Speedline Super LS 10.5 with Excalibur T7+ tour stiff shaft

Irons: 4-9 KZG Tour Evolution with Nippon N.S. Pro Modus 3 tour 120 x flex shafts
Wedges:49 degree Dave Pelz wedge with a Nippon N.S. Pro Modus tour 120 x flex shaft. 54,64 Dave Pelz wedges with Rifle spinner shafts 59 Degree Scor wedge with rifle spinner shaft.
Putter: Bentinardi Ben Hogan Big Ben Center shafted 33 inches with best grips custom pistol putter grip.

Ball: Titleist Pro V1X, Callaway Hex Chrome +

Good point here, I remembered reading that as well. He made a point about driver loft as well, what was it again (hey it's been a year now)

Well here Tiger's Actual Specs from another site that someone leaked from Nike Tour Van: His driver is marked 8.5 but actual loft is 11.25

I've got to go back to the ball thing - the Nike One Tour D has been listed as Tiger's ball for some time - that's not the old Nike One Platinum that Tiger used to use or supposedly used.

If this is in fact the One Tour D it spins less and goes farther than the Platinum. I don't see him as being appreciably longer with that than the newer edition balls - the Platinum was not a very long ball though - when he was using that he had yardage to gain - I assumed he took the yardage leap by going to the Tour D.

That is my favorite ball of all time to date by the way - I used it for nearly 3 years - long and great greenside spin - I don't know why he would want to switch quite frankly - what's the sense?

Taylor Made Stealth 2 10.5 Diamana S plus 60  Aldila  R flex   - 42.25 inches

SMT 4 wood bassara R flex, four wood head, 3 wood shaft

Ping G410 7, 9 wood  Alta 65 R flex

Srixon ZX5 MK II  5-GW - UST recoil Dart 65 R flex

India 52,56 (60 pending)  UST recoil 75's R flex

Evon roll ER 5 32 inches

It's our offseason so auditioning candidates - looking for that right mix of low spin long, more spin around the greens - TBD
