Plenty of mystery in choosing your golf ball and especially with the new balls being released? For years I've trusted this to help make an informed choice.

I'm really intrigued.

 

How does the USGA list linked above provide help in choosing a ball?

 

I play the same ball until it goes out of production, and then I try to get used to another one. 

 

My last ball has been the Top Flite Gamer Tour, but I've still got a lot of them so I don't know if they're still in production.

 

If there's a better way of going about choosing a ball, I'm all ears.

I don't believe I've ever seen that list before. Ya think they make a lot of balls in Japan these days? Whew...I was glad to see that that Wilson's Sponge Bob Square Pants w/ gold freckles ball made the conforming list. I'd hate to get DQ'd over it.

I think it helps if you're looking for certain things out of a ball like, spin, cover, 2 or 3 piece it is really endless.
