  2. Good morning all! Two more days of work and then vacation! While I won't be golfing (This cruise ship does not have a golf course on it, bummer I know) I am very much looking forward to some time off to relax with Mrs. BOS. Just need to get through this pesky forecast first.

  4. Good morning and happy Wednesday everyone! It's a nice morning here and my coffee is working it's magic. Right now my plan is to get the yard work done after getting home this evening. I just really enjoy getting out on the mower and riding around. I hope all of you have a wonderful day!

  6. Good morning, friends! Today's work day will crawl, as is normally the case when you're looking forward to something after work. Surprising my nephew with a trip to watch our Georgia Southern Eagles play baseball this evening! Been a rough year for our boys after being nationally ranked last year but he attends their camp each year and has become buddies with most of the team so thankfully he's like me and loves the team regardless of record. They're five hours from us but are coming to play a school only an hour away! Hope everyone has a great day!

  7. Feeling bad for you Northerners. We have been in shorts and tee shirts for a month now. I already have the official golf tan going on. Opened up the pool from winter last week, put the solar cover on, and the water temp is already mid 70's. The local pool company is coming tomorrow to go over the system and show us the ins and outs. First time having a built-in pool. Hoping warmer weather finds your way soon.

  9. Gooood morning all! Back at work today, just need to get through these 3 days and then it’s vacation for 9 days! What a chilly morning it is, 37 with crystal clear skies. Finishing up my coffee in the car, let’s get this day rolling. Hope it’s a fantastic day for everyone!

  10. Hah! It never occurred to me to do so - 35 little "bell" icons with nearly every one of those a mention within this thread, lol. Thanks for the love - made me laugh a bunch this morning. Managed to get in two rounds over the last two days - Monday was a Jekyll/Hyde round (57 (lol...I know) on the front, 40 on the back - par 72 course), and then Tuesday was much more consistent, but ended up shooting a very similar number (94). Two courses designed by the same guy (Gil Hanse), lots of tricky-fast greens, lots of false fronts/closely-mown fringe, very little water. Incredibly fun courses, and Tuesday's round really should have been mid-80s, but I lost concentration a few times and ended up with big numbers on easy holes. But all in all, an incredible two days of golf, and cake, and a few drinks to celebrate. Back at my desk this morning, sifting through work emails and all the posts "not" tagging me - thanks for that consideration, all Two days without breaking 90 has shown me I've got to get my practice-game back up to where it was last year - it really is the thing that I seem to respond the best to, genuinely working through specifics instead of just getting out there and whacking a bunch of balls

  11. Morning Spies, Second cup is goin down. I have 9 days until retirement and my final projects are going a bit sideways. In one of them, the contractor's quality of work in room prep was among the worst I've seen in my 35 years in the medical imaging industry. In the other, a hardware packet need for installation was lost. oh well. This combined with the weather is putting a crimp in my golf. Have a great day Spies! Hope you can get out and hit'em

  12. Good Morning everyone! Finished my 2nd cup of coffee and ready to begin my exercises. After battling that course yesterday in the wind, I'm taking the day off; maybe head to our course for some short game work. My wife will be leaving soon to help get up the Ladies Par 3 tournament this morning. All 18 holes will be set up as par 3's, but that doesn't mean they ARE par 3's. For example, our par 3 #8 hole is being played from the tips... 250y.

  13. Morning everyone. Really looking forward to playing in my Spark Golf league this afternoon. The past two Wednesdays we had crappy weather during that time whereas pretty much every other day had great weather. Two-man best ball for 9 holes. Fun format, especially when you have a partner who can carry me whenever I'm spraying balls all over the place LOL.

    How'd you play?

My wife and I are playing in a charity tournament a week from Friday at Canyon Lakes GC in Kennewick. This course is probably our best and toughest public course in town. The greens are brutal compared to all other courses... big, fast and lots of undulations. I like fast greens, but I'm not used to the large breaks and I don't see a good line for a putt. I'm a firm believer of getting the speed correct and if I don't make the putt, then it's an easy two-putt. Well, after today... I'm not so sure that I'm a firm believer anymore, at least not on this course. If I didn't have a good line, then the speed wasn't correct and the next putt is waaaay longer than it should be. I've played this course many times over the years, but not frequently. We played this tournament last year. Well, today we decided to play the course just to see if it's the same as last year. It is. It was a chilly 50º with winds 20-35mph... a little sun, a lot of clouds, a sprinkle or two, then a little hail. Just a lot of fun {read sarcasm}. I doubled the first two holes into the wind, then we turned with the wind and made a nice par on the long par 5. Sprinkle in a few bogeys and then another double on the par 4 #8. I hate this hole! Always have!! If the pin is in the front (as it was today) and your approach is anywhere past the pin, your first putt will run off the green!! After a par on the par 5 #9 hole and a front 9 score of 45, I was not very happy. Then on the #10 slight dogleg left par 4 playing very downhill and downwind I flew the fairway bunker and recorded my longest drive that I can remember... 257 yards. I made only one bogey on the back nine and a score of 37. For some reason I could see the line for my putts and my speed was perfect. Pretty happy with an 82 after the horrible start. The tournament a week from Friday is a scramble and my wife and I are playing with the couple we played with last Sunday. He can bomb 300 yarders, and the Ladies get lots of relief off the tees. I think this tournament will be fun this year.

    How'd you play?

Found out in a fitting yesterday that my path has gotten pretty excessively outside in. Might be a product of hitting on a net all winter with no ball flight feedback Meant to work on that before playing, but ended up with better than expected weather so played 18. It was super windy, which led to some trickiness, and I couldn't quite get my path neutralized. Lots of pulls and a couple pull hooks. My putting felt great, hit my lines just didn't have much go down. Short game was tidy as well, and contact was solid throughout the day. Just gotta get the path sorted out and get a little more confident in the wind and things should be moving in the right direction!

    How'd you play?

I drove about 1 1/2 hr, across the PA border for golf 1st time to Melrose CC, just north of Philadelphia. Par 70, neat old course cut into the woods with lots of slope. Another course I get aerated greens. 2 of the last 3 have been. Course was also busy so I just lagged and picked up 2 putts each hole. Hit the ball well, especially a 5 hole stretch from 9-13 at +3, +1 net. Scored 49-47 for 96 with 34 putts. 10 holes double or worse and lost 3-4 balls OB. Had horrible luck with cart paths, and this is a course that if you bounce on one the ball goes down a hill and ends up 40y lower, 80y away from where you thought it was. 2 balls were "lost" until I found them 8-10 holes later 2 fairways over.

Good morning, Spies! Good luck @cojobro77 this Friday. Yikes! Hope it goes well. No golf for me today, sadly. (Really this time.) All suited up. Serving breakfast to staff this morning a week ahead of Admin Professionals' Day. It's an annual tradition, and a lot of fun. Then . . . lots of work to do. Wishing you all great Wednesdays.

  31. Good morning everyone, Wednesdays have the most standard meetings so not looking forward to that at all, but after today we are that much closer to the weekend and school vacation for our kids. Working on my Edel intro and hope to have that up in the next couple days. Trying to come up with some good testing parameters to get everything lines up. The data nerd in me always gets a bit out over my skis on this and wanting to do too much, so a reminder to myself that less can be more.

  32. On the way home from PA, I was 15 minutes from Golf Galaxy, so I stopped there to peruse. Had a 54° Jaws but I kept repeating in my head I don't need to change my wedge setup. Then I walked past a 15° Titleist 3w 917f2. Immediately caught my eye because I play a TS2 driver which is very similar. $90 check. R flex MCA Diamana 70 blue shaft check. I felt a waggle, hmmm. Waggle waggle, smile. Carried it around the rest of the club section, walked it to the grip section and grabbed a Lamkin UTx like is on my hybrids (not chev grey like the hybrids, but a cool black corded I like) brought it to checkout. Then to the back where the club fitter put on the grip while I was in the restroom. Small chat while he finished gripping it, "she's in good shape for 6+ years old" "hehe not when I get done" He was nice enough to put the hosel setting at 14.25° standard lie like I want to use it, between 12° driver and 17° 4w. I had said if I get a 3W it's just for glamor shots, so obligatory photos below. Not as glamorous as I was thinking, but I think I'm gonna like it just by the short time simulating address.

  33. I played yesterday at 37 with freezing precip coming down. Played a couple holes while it was 25 in January to say I played golf in January. Agreed! Lost two balls playing in January when, you know the thing I said up there You got me beat, missed single digits by a few but I think wind chill was close to +10 Gotta walk, it keeps the blood flowing, the muscles working, and cold cramps from sneaking in. Layers is the key and the new fabrics with moisture wicking are amazing for feeling warmth. And to not forget tagging @GolfSpy_SAM Happy Birthday to one fabulous Mod! Happy 18th Ooops I shouldn't have tagged @GolfSpy_SAM ? I think quoting @GolfSpy_SAM is easy as being a Chatty Cathy Happy Birthday Matt! And oh my word what a lot of reading it was to catch up to the end of this post from 12 hours of MGSpies posting awesome things to read!!!

  37. gm all! Ya know... In a funny confidence, there's a Par 3 that I habitually mess up the tee shots on - I'm too often either wide right in trouble, or wider (haha) left in trouble. So you can see either way I'm in trouble ... ..so what I've been thinking is to try that "old fart" strategy! .. ie. kind of a low-running punch shot with the Cleveland Hy-Wood maybe..? Gotta test it out on the range!

  42. Good morning fellow spies! Massive snow melt off yesterday had me in a fantastic mood to end the day. Rain forecasted for today and tomorrow with highs getting back toward 60 should clear everything off and I am hopeful to be back on the course next week once everything dries up. Highs will only be in the 50s throughout next week but we can make it work! Hope everyone has a great day.

GM, after coffee heading out for a 7:44 Tee Time. It’s 50* & windy so not a pleasant morning may do 9 instead of 18, whatever the Boyz decide is OK with me. Had a small “ratcheting sound from bottom of the cart. Brought it to cart garage and looks like a brake issue that they fixed. EV carts are so quiet every little noise sounds terrible.

Have to learn to play "old fart golf". That's where you land the ball 10-20 yards short of the green and let it roll on. When I started playing golf, there were some old farts that were very deadly playing that way because they played that way all the time.

    How'd you play?

Decent day of play, and my best score of the year thus far. It was downright chilly out there, with a lot of clouds and wind! Shot an 89 at Hunters Golf club in Meriden. Nothing too exciting, zero birdies on the day unfortunately. My putting has improved a bit with a total of 34 putts today so happy about that!

    How'd you play?

... Probably better than mine. Apathetic would be a good description. I played the senior tees with sone friends so I moved up 450 yds and had 18 straight pars. Lipped out 3 birds and other than that never really had a solid chance and scrambled for par too many times playing the course so much shorter. Lots of ho hum pars. After 5 birdies Friday from my normal tee's it was a very frustrating day.
