Reesedw
Seahawks played a great game last night, it is very clear the Legion of Boom is a thing of the past. But like I said yesterday the only area that really concerns me is the secondary. On display last night was one of the best passers in the league. DangeRuss did things very few can do, both from the pocket and improvising. As well as possibly the Best line backing trio in the NFL, who played amazing also.. Yes, Patrick Mahomes is great. "Go Hawks"..... Russell Wilson.. Great and exciting game (for once) on a Thursday night! Carson was running like a man possessed. Can't believe that 3rd down play where they tried to get tricky and used an option and pitched it to Lockett. Should have just given it to CC and let him bulldoze ahead...but Carroll has a history of trying to get "tricky" when you should just run the ball (SB, anyone?). The 'hawks better learn how to cover TE though.... once teams find a weakness they attack it relentlessly. Also - hate to say it - but they got pretty lucky.... Zuerlein makes that kick 8.5 times out of 10. But just keep in mind I am in Chicago, a quarterback starved city and have had to watch Favre and Rodgers destroy the Bears for over 20 years while 50 starting QB's marched thru the line ups. Cutler was the only legit NFL passer the Bears in all that time and I had such high hopes for him having followed his career from Vandy to Denver. But of course he was not a leader which is essential in the NFL. Trubisky shows promise but knowing the Bears could have had Mahomes will always sting. But no hard feelings and I love watching him play more than any other QB in my lifetime. cnosil and Rickp 2 Quote Driver: Qi10 10.5* ... Ventus Red Velocore 5R Fairway: Qi10 5 wood ... chisag
... I certainly remember what it was like for the Bears going through a couple seasons with Trestman HC and Tucker DC that gave up record numbers on defense. The question was not losing, it was by how much. But it never got as bad as it is for Washington fans. Golfspy_CG2
Gruden was summoned to Redskins Park for a 5 a.m. meeting Monday by owner Daniel Snyder and team president Bruce Allen, who informed him of the decision. Gruden thanked them for the opportunity and left. https://wapo.st/2OqucVZ Redskins fire Coach Jay Gruden after 0-5 start Gruden, the first NFL head coach to be fired this season, had been the longest-tenured coach of Daniel Snyder’s two decades of ownership. Bill Callahan takes over as interim head coach. washingtonpost.com 161 7:55 AM - Oct 7, 2019 To me, the most discouraging part of this is that Bruce Allen will be conducting the press conference this afternoon addressing the firing. Unless he announces he's firing himself It's really a shame what was once one of the premier franchises in the NFL has become, they are nothing but a league laughing stock under Dan Snyder. StrokerAce
Not sure it's the coach that's the problem, but what do you do when you have an owner that has no clue ??? Gruden becomes the fifth coach fired by Snyder, joining a group that includes Norv Turner, Marty Schottenheimer, Jim Zorn and Mike Shanahan. Steve Spurrier and Joe Gibbs resigned. Spurrier did so after two years, but it was widely speculated that he would have been fired had he not resigned; Gibbs retired after four seasons. Schottenheimer was fired after going 8-8 in his only season in Washington. No coach has finished with a winning record under Snyder, who bought the team shortly before the 1999 season. Under Snyder, the Redskins have finished first in the NFC East three times, including in 2015 with Gruden. They have finished last eight times and third seven times. Golfspy_CG2
It's so nice that the Capitals and Nationals are winning and being successful. And they have bonded with each other, several Caps were at the Game 4 on Monday night and several Nats are frequently seen at Caps games and practices. For the first time in 27 years, I'm seriously contemplating finding something else to do on Sunday's at 1:00 that won't lead to such disappointment and frustration. I sat and watched the game against NE actually emotionless, and actually cheering for NE at points. I won't things to get to absolute Rock Bottom, not that I anticipate it will change anything at the top, but I want Snyder to see what it looks like when an entire city turns against you. Mr. 82
Lol @ the Redskins. I remember when I lived in NoVA and all the Redskins fans. I actually pity them to some extent. But as someone who grew up in the Orange Bowl and watched Dan Marino torch defenses week in and week out I just laugh at the comedy of a dumpster fire that the Dolphins franchise has become. Ross thinks he can tank this season and stockpile draft picks in order to build for the future. Lol. This is the same team that has used previous overall #1 picks to take a running back (Ronnie Brown) and a OT (Jake Long). The media is pimping the “Tank for Tua” meme, and if Miami is as predictable as they’ve always been they’ll draft him when they could have had Jalen Hurts or another QB that might actually win you something. Miami is just like the Jets now. No matter how many coaches and GMs you go through, your expectations will always surpass reality. And at the end of the year we’ll still be left with Bill Belichick holding the Lombardi trophy again. I’d laugh if it honestly wasn’t so pathetically predictable. I watch a quarter and a half of the Pats/Giants game and thought to myself, “it’s 14-0 and Brady actually sucks tonight.” Same story different season.
