1. The Hybrid so far has wanted to go left unless I put a "slice" swing on it.  That being said, we will see how it performs on the course.  I've liked the feel, just may need to set up with the face a touch open.

2.  Shafts for irons and wedges (were not my first choice due to OEM stocking issues from COVID).  While independently they feel fine the irons are significantly (25-30grams) heavier than what I had before, and the GW is the heaviest off all the clubs.  The MIM wedges are actually lighter overall then the Forged Tec GW.  I don't anticipate it will cause any issues.  But I may look into re-shafting this fall with what I was originally fit into.

@Headhammer Best team logo! And creative intro! You spent thoughtful time on it. I love his quite, calm, but sassy demeanor - quiet assassin seems to fit. This guy has a stellar chance to sneak in a win when the rest of you are not paying attention.

@GB13 - This venom spitter seems to be on top of his game in every way. Creative, elegant writer with word play (much like @downlowkey), quick witted, fearlessly ripping everyone to shreds except @Headhammer, super confident in his golf game with very clear goals. You guys must be worried about him or why else would you all pile on?

I commit to vote every week, but you guys are too ruthless for me to reveal my choices.

MIM 60 is standard 35.5" conventional length wedge. I ordered 60* KingONE wedge 37.5" shaft, but is on backorder due to covid 19. Not a club I use a tremendous amount but all three of my Vokey wedges I'm used to have 36.5" shafts. This MIM feel awkward to me so far.

I'm not convinced the 2 hybrid, 4 iron setup was the way to go, even if the gapping looked right on Trackman. I should have pushed back on my fitter a little bit with that. I could grow into that setup, but for now I am almost never going to pull the hybrid because I just don't play a ton of courses where those lengths are going to be useful. Most courses I play are not going to be longer than 6,200-6,300 yards. That is partly because of my skill level off the tee (erratic is putting it nicely) and partly because there are not a ton in the area that have tees in the 6,400-6,600 range, which is probably the max I'd feel comfortable playing with some enjoyment and chances to score. Heck, there are a ton of courses in this area that are shorter than 6,000 yards from the back-most tees.

Playing at my current course, I will never have a chance to use the 2 hybrid, unless I either purposely play other shots short, or if I absolutely wallop a drive 285-290 yards slightly uphill on the par 5 on the back I might be able able to go for the green in two with either the hybrid or 3 wood. That hasn't happened once in almost 75 rounds at this course.

I think I could have gone with a 19 degree hybrid chopped down slightly in length to keep it in line distance-wise with the 5 iron, removed the 4 iron, and then added an additional wedge at the bottom end of my bag to tighten up the gapping down there and provide an additional bounce option.

Prior to Me playing the Cobra F8+ i was playing a G30 LST. With the Ping I hit some monster drives, I had 1 measured at 315, but I could not control it.. Once i got the Cobra my average distance increased as my dispersion decreased.

As I seem to be the only Lady on this thread, I'll jump here.

I have a new F8 (from June). My old driver was Ping Serene. My Cobra is not longer (yet) but more of my drives end up in the fairway. With advice from @chisag and @downlowkey I've played around with the weights and loft so the results are getting better.

For me it's the 60* MIM wedge. I've been playing a Callaway PM grind for the last few years and have utmost confidence in that club from anywhere inside 75 yards. The shapes of the PM & the MIM are so drastically different it's going to take me some time to build a similar level of confidence. I flubbed a chip from around the green, skulled one and came up short twice on 40 yard approach shots in my first round with it. Going to spend some time tomorrow at the range working with it from different lies and distances to gain more comfort.

Old Driver: Callaway Big Bertha 460 9*

New Driver: Cobra SpeedZone 9*

 

Anecdotally, yes it appears to be longer off the tee, but I only have one round in with it and I hit the 3W off most tees yesterday, and it was by far longer than my old Cleveland HiBore 3W. I plan to book some TrackMan time later in the competition and get head to head data on the old & new driver and irons.
