Mtbryant01
We got the RBC Heritage this week playing at Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Tidbits: - Past 3 winners: Cheng Tsung Pan, Satoshi Kodaira, and Wesley Bryan - Riggs w/ Barstool Sports claimed he was tracking Tiger's yacht into Sea Island, GA which is right next to Hilton Head getting everyone excited Tiger might play. That rumor was false. - Cut has been at E the past two years. - Hole 9, par 4, should be fun to watch, based off the website, it is playing around 315 yards. Smart play is lay up, but does Bryson say screw it? Does Bryson's hulk power set him up for a good week, can he keep his drives in play? Will Xander and Collin not let the lip outs affect their play this week? Who is the guy that comes out of nowhere and wins it? TCUfrog
I've got my money on Morikawa coming out and winning this one. This is a ball striker's paradise and length will not have the advantage at Harbor Town that it does at a lot of other courses on tour. Morikawa might be the best iron player on tour right now (aside from Tiger). Although my heart is for Spieth to win this week. The guy is so close to being back to 2015 Jordan and having him back would be great for the game. Grit Golf
I commented on the Charles Schwab thread, I like the Collin Morikawa / Xander Shauffele -VS- the Bryson DeChambeau / Matt Wolff strategy conversation that is starting to bubble up. There are two archetypes now emerging and its kind of nice to see an alternative to all out distance for winning tournaments proving itself out. With that said, Morikawa’s average drive is 297yards (that ranks him 112th), which is still completely unrelatable for amateurs, so he’s not exactly short off the tee, but he’s also not sniffing 200mph ball speed, so it’s all relative.Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy revkev 1 Quote “He’s a Cinderella story. Mtbryant01
I got a couple “not so favorites” I’m pulling for this week to potentially pull out the W. 1) Joel Dahmen - 4 top 20 in a row. Trending in right direction. 2) Kevin Kisner - has always played well here. Maybe he finally pulls it out this year. 3) Wesley Bryan - first tourney in 18ish months coming off surgery. Kuchar is another that plays this course well and could easily be in contention. I'm going with one of these four to win it though: Bryson DeChambeau, Sungjae Im, Branden Grace, and Jason Kokrak. Mtbryant01
One of the guys I was pulling for, Wesley Bryan, made the cut at -5. I’m not sure his status on the tour, but hopefully he can go low the next two days and help himself out. The course seems to be favoring the morning guys as a couple guys went -8 today from the morning wave and -7 from Thursday. Let’s see who can post a low number tomorrow to push Webb and Bryson. I also don’t think Webb can keep up making so many long putts. If it comes down between Webb and Bryson, advantage Bryson from what I’ve seen. Iowa Hacker
I love Jordan Spieth's game because at times it can look like mine. Crazy inconsistent! I can appreciate hitting 3-4 solid drives down the middle and then stepping up and slicing one over the road. He misses a lot of short putts and mumbles to himself just like I do. We hackers often can't relate to the game the pros play. I need 2 shots to get as far as a DeChambeau drive. It is nice to see something that occasionally I can relate to. I am also cheering for him to get back in the winner's circle again. He has some demons clearly, I don't want him to become Anthony Kim or David Duval. fixyurdivot 1 Quote Mavrik 9 Degree Mavrik 4 Wood Mavrik 3 Hybrid Mavrik 4 Hybrid CBX 52 Degree Smart Sole S White Hot #
