Ah, you've swayed me!  No, actually it wasn't you.  It was a few Sundays ago when I was in that south-side sports bar and the lion's share of the patrons wanted the TVs switched over to WGN from the Sox game in favor of the LIV coverage because, "...those Saudis are really not so bad."  There are reports of the same phenomena occurring on the north side amonst Cubs fans.

While I'm sure Brandel is not looking over his shoulder at you, perhaps you could explain how this "sportwashing" nonsense is NOT political.

... Saudi Arabia's Private Investment Fund is worth a reported $620 Billion dollars. This week the winner gets $4 Million and 4th place gets $1 Million. 1st place teams make another $3 Million.

"Kevin Na putting for the lead"... now that's something I haven't heard for some time .  It wasn't too long ago Keven was walking in putts from everywhere and contending.  Thus far, his Tour 54 career has been rather lackluster but maybe he can breakthrough. At present, he's going to have to get past Smith, Varner, and Louie if he's going to grab one of the big paychecks.  While a Na win would be cool, I'm pulling for Harold to get it done... he is way overdue.

Lots of folks out to watch the event this holiday weekend.  The ariel shots of the course look cool... very lush.

The Aimpoint putt overlay graphic is pretty cool except it's default ball speed does not seem to match results that consistently.  HV3 just putted to save par on #4 and his ball followed the trace exactly but went right past the cup.  I've seen a few others do the same.  I wonder how ball speed is factored into the algorithm.

Congratulations HV3!!   That was a really great horse race to the finish.  Brendan Grace ties it up on the last hole but Harold never flinched.  He definitely had his "A game" today and just kept making quality shot after shot.  I'm happy to see him get this win and suspect this may help assuage some doubts he probably had about making the move from the PGA Tour.

I will say the podium award format leaves the ending a bit flat for me.  First, that repeating gawdawful flat black trophy may actually be uglier than the Sanderson Farms .  I dunno, maybe they are made of black onyx or something but it would seem they could come up with something much better.  Second is the lightening speed pace of both the individual and team celebration.  Maybe excuse the runner-ups and have a brief interview with the winner.

I have CW channel as part of my streaming service.  LIV is the only thing I've watch on that channel but looking through the offerings, there might be a couple of other shows worth a look.

So was Tour 54 the "Trojan Horse"?  If the deal/merger/joint venture/hostile takeover passes the monopoly challenge and gets approved, it would seem that this tour will fizzle out in short order and many players will move back to the other tours... some with much bigger bank accounts than they would otherwise have had.

Very interesting thread on Twitter this morning re: the potential PIF/PGAT/DPWT agreement. I don’t travel in the investment banking/venture capital world, but Bob seems to. It’s a long thread, but to summarize, it’s the “Golden Rule” theory: The one with the gold makes the rules. Don’t expect Yasir to let Jay, Jimmy & Keith dismantle team golf when he’s invested ALL the money.

Still lots of scuttle-butt concerning all this and I think this falls squarely into the believe nothing you hear and only half of what you read... and that may be overly trusting.  

Not finding much specifics on Monahan's status or what the medical issue was - though can totally respect his desire to maintain privacy.  I did hear some rumblings that he would be returning to duty soon.  I found this article interesting, particularly as it relates to Cantlay.  He, IMO, is a perfect example of what I stated in another thread about the most recent PGA Tour format changes (pre merger bombshell), and how I think it is going to fracture the players and cause animosity.  Cantlay is one of the top players but isn't a "needle mover".  Unlike Tiger who needs only send our a Tweet of him swinging a club at his home range to garnish #1 PIP payout, Patrick won't likely see a dime.  I also think the author is correct on this "sense of entiltement" that seems to be so very ubiquitous these days. 

It is definitely going to be interesting seeing how this all playes out.

I’ll start by saying I’m not an Eamon Lynch fan. Rather listen to Brandel, and THAT’S saying something. My biggest problem with this “article” is the “my sources” garbage. If somebody said what they said, then make them say it on the record. 
My personal guess, however, is that both Cantlay and Schauffele are kicking themselves they didn’t strike when they both were probably worth at least $150M to LIV. Now? Zero value.

I’m not a lawyer or more importantly in this case, a judge. I’m sure everyone who was offered a contact with LIV sought professional advice from their agent many of whom are attorneys.
 

They are grown men who made a decision to stay on the PGA tour. Purses have increased significantly this season. I’m struggling to see how they were harmed. Until such time as others who are currently banned from the tour are re-admitted I don’t see where they have a complaint. 
 

So my opinion is wait and see.

Nope.  In private industry people leave companies for more money/benefits all the time and often return to where they left garnishing further increases. The "I stayed loyal now you need to enrich me" cry falls flat with me.

Will survive?  It's already been divided into Designated Tour and DP USA.  I was looking at the Deere field and said to myself, well many are playing the Scottish Open.  Lo and behold that's not until next week!  PGATour Power Ranking had Johnny Kuest (wave if you get that reference) #15 and he's not even a member!
