Good morning and happy Hump Day Spies,

Up enjoying a much needed cuppa. Picked up my parents last night at the Rochester airport an hour and a half each way from my house. It offered the best travel times for them. They are both in their 80s. It’s great seeing them. My dad’s big request for the trip. We have to be home to see Niners vs Cowboys on Sunday night. He was a 49er season ticket holder during their glory years.

Good morning all from one last above average temperature day here in early October. Scotty putter is arriving today, one day ahead of schedule, and I just so happen to pick up my youngest from Pre-K at 11am and will be home with him for two hours until our afternoon sitter arrives and I head back to work. 100000000% rolling putts on the perfect practice mat, might even try to go up to the practice green if I can keep the wild man entertained. Putter is scheduled to be delivered between 11:30 - 1:30, here's to hoping it's on the early end!

Good Morning everyone!  A beautiful day as the sun is going up; wife is playing in Ladies league, so I'm thinking I will try walking 9 holes after my PT exercises.  

It's also time to start pruning shrubs, but I think I'll wait.  I was going to join the Procrastinator's Club, but I kept putting it off.

Good morning everyone! Busy day of work this morning before taking the afternoon off for a doctors appointment and hopefully catch some MLB playoff action! I managed to get out and play yesterday and shot a really solid round, with my second lowest score ever of a 78. Event though it wasn't my lowest score it felt like my best round. I was dealing with pretty heavy intermittent winds and managed to strike my irons well almost all day. Kept the driver in bounds without sacrificing distance and putt alright! Outside of a few poor decisions and untimely misses, I really couldn't see much to complain about!

Good morning all!  Starting to see a lot of color on the trees along the highway.  We're getting a mini blast of summer weather too, going to be hard to not get sick towards the end of the week....

 

Looking forward to the charity scramble this weekend and hoping the rain in the forecast goes away!

Started this beautiful day with a range session before work. Swing has been feeling great lately after implementing a few key swing thoughts and checkpoints. Brought my dog with me as company and he seemed to enjoy himself 

Might need another cuppa sooner rather than later!

Morning, friends! Took the kids to see Paw Patrol in the theater last night - our littlest one's first time in a real movie theater. Pretty awesome to be back - one of my favorite things on the planet when I was single was taking a day off and hitting multiple movies in a day

Saw this just now on a FB golf group, and I thought you'd all get a kick out of it, too.

Morning all! Love all the hump day stuff, that commercial always made me chuckle. Still does! On my second mug of joe and feeling fine. Work is meh, but you guys keep me going on here.

Last warm day of the year here in Ohio me thinks. Temps start going into that comfy fall range of 50-70 degrees. Love it!

@GolfSpy SAM I think we are hitting the theater on Friday for Paw Patrol! When the first one came out during the COVID craziness, the tiny little theater in my hometown would let you rent out the ENTIRE thater for $15 plus your ticket and concession fees, so we did that and the kids loved it lol. Not a fancy theater by any means, but our oldest who was 3 at the time felt like a big shot

Oh man, I really, REALLY love that they did that. That's incredible. Going to the theaters is absolutely one of my favorite things, and I've missed it SO much - not just with Covid, but being far enough away from family that we don't have any built in (free) sitters.  So going to a movie AND paying for a sitter ends up being way out of budget for something as silly as a movie.  Tuesday nights are like, $6/ticket, so it felt like a pretty fun reason to get back in the habit.  The little guy LOVED it - it was really awesome. "Can we go back to the movie theater to watch Paw Patrol again tonight???" he said when he woke up

That is awesome! Our boys enjoyed the first movie so much we had to buy it on Prime Video as soon as it was available  I've seen it, at minimum, 75 times. lol.

Not a bad Central Florida morning this morning.  74 degrees at range this morning at 7:30am. Felt good to get out and hit balls, especially after a nice workout with TheStack session last night.

Late, late, Wednesday afternoon my fellow spies. Apologies for the lateness of this post.  
   Was struggling on the front nine when “ those people “ called informing me that a couple of office honchos and a couple of regular field leads would be taking their offspring to engage in the early youth deer hunting season and that I would have to be “ The Pretend “ field  boss for the entire state for those few days near the end of the month. I know those honchos and I am betting on the deer. 

Strangely enough I started playing better after the phone call and finished the round with a rather decent score.  
   Upon returning to the kingdom of the wife, the monarch informed me that the shopping excursion would be tomorrow and that she was cooking supper. Now you must understand the Royal usually makes reservations for supper, so tomorrow must going to involve some heavy duty shopping… I am trying to make the best of the situation and waiting outside until noticing the supper is ready.

We're nearing the end of the work week and it's a little bit warmer here this morning. It's going to cool off once the weekend arrives.

Thursday, my spies, AND HERE WE GOoooo…..Had coffee so I should be semi-socially acceptable.

Heading out with her high and mighty Highness. Hopefully her Ladyship’s purchases will not lower the treasury of the realm to such an extent that my lowly pittance of a “ husband allowance “ will be put in jeopardy, as I have my own plans on how to squander those pennies.  
   I am looking forward to driving a few hours and heading north this weekend to practice at a course that has quite a few holes with big wooden sticks with other smaller sticks with green things attached to them. Believe they are called “ trees “. . This venue is the site of an Ancient Ager tournament lovingly nicknamed the Flomax Open.. the course is said to be a perfect setup for us.

Anyhow, first things first. I have to survive the day as the entire entourage for the family ruler. Wish me luck, a strong back, and a multitude of establishments that don’t quite have what the Duchess of Deals wants. 
  Today, Thursday, may you endeavor to persevere to get to the gateway of the weekend, Friday.

Good Thursday morning all!

 

Up and working early as I am getting out this afternoon for a round. I  might be able to squeeze in 18 if things move fast enough. Should be a nice round at Owl's  Nest up here, probably the nicest course in the area. Usually play about once a year so here it is. Kids off to school today which likely means a tired group trudging out the door earlier than they would like. Still can't get them to try sleeping a bit earlier to make up for it, live and learn.

Good morning Spiers on a cool and cloudy Thursday here. Hoping to finish up what needs to be done at work in the facility today, so I could have a no commute Friday if possible. Time will tell if that happens, as we are still short staffed, and the workload is increasing.

Looking forward to the community call later today, and I was able to get to the practice green yesterday evening for a while. Hope that either golf or some other fun activity is in you day, and that your day is the best it possibly can be.

Good morning MGSpies on the last day of summer in autumn in WNY with today's highs forecasted in low 80's as clouds move in this afternoon - the old foursome will be doing dinner picnic again on the 19th hole with our Colorado member returning for his first visit since his move west - and just in time too with the next two weeks of forecasting predicting highs in the 60's or lower with plenty of rain to catch up for what we have not been getting with the tropics directing it elsewhere since late summer.  Unfortunate that the round will preclude the Community Call for this premier member as it will only be the third one since the beginning missed  but some things are necessary and if an opportunity presents itself I will join in from the 3rd fairway perhaps if cell coverage allows.  Hope golf is a part of your day too!

Good morning everyone. Coffee in hand and really enjoying less knee pain after getting a cortisone shot yesterday. I have a slight tear in my meniscus and putting in all the time time I do as a caddy on the weekends does take its toll after a while. The doc pulled out 20 CCs of fluid before giving me the shot and my knee hasn’t felt this good since the last time I had a cortisone shot, lol. Surgery at some point is inevitable but the doctor doesn’t think it has to happen right away. I’m a sure by the end of next summer I’ll be in the same boat having the same discussion again and pretending I’m just fine even though I’m now 50, . Last regular season game for my girls VB team and if we win we make the playoffs. It’s a team we can beat so hopefully they can respond well under pressure. Would love to see them get one more week out of their season. Of course this means no community call for me today , or possibly next week either , but it’s worth it. Hope everyone has a great day ahead.

Good morning all,

Rainy day here in Chicago and only going to get worse going into the weekend. I typically don't mind the rain, but with 3 rounds of golf planned for the weekend, it's putting a damper on things.

Flying out this evening back to upstate NY for a family reunion/golf tournament. Hoping for no more issues with the golf travel bag after last trip. 

On the hunt for coffee in the near future.

Morning!!

Was up at Sir Chunks time to take care of poochie but being an old retired fart in need of more rest was able to crawl back into bed for more snooze time!

Had a good practice session yesterday .. feeling a little bit better about my short game... Still needs plenty of work, though, and looks like another nice day today .. although starting out a bit cooler but mostly clear.

Have some things to get done around the house, too, so may stay here and try and join in on the community call later. Haven't been on one yet...

Oh @Preeway - fyi I had a torn labrum on my hip a few years ago (amongst other problems with the joint) and got a PRP (platelet rich therapy) treatment that really helped me with the pain and to keep me going for almost another year before surgery. It's a much more commonplace procedure now, and maybe look into it as an alternative to cortisone..?

Good morning all from a cool and crisp Wisconsin fall morning. We are getting into the normal temperature ranges for October and seeing a MASSIVE shift in morning temps. It is about 20 degrees cooler this morning than it was yesterday, and lows will move into the upper 30s this weekend. I SHOULD be sitting in a tree stand Saturday morning, but we are heading up to Appleton for a college reunion with our core friend group which will be really fun. Whitetail hunting will have to wait another week. 

Sounds like there is some big beer festival we are going to at a brewery up there. Tickets are $50 a pop, so you can bet your bottom dollar I'll be getting my money's worth .

Not too much on tap today other than the community call with Matt Blois, which is going to be awesome. He is one of my favorite YouTube golf personalities, so big time looking forward to that call.

Good morning Spies,

Working on my morning coffee on this “Almost Friday”. I’ve been enjoying having my family in town. They arrived for some spectacular weather. SWMBO went shopping for a “Mother of the Groom” dress with my mom and sister yesterday. She returned most excited to have found the perfect. She was beaming which made my day. The simple things really. My back is healing up for which I’m grateful. Made a tee time next week for after the visitors return to California.
