Good morning all and looking forward to this week being very much a member vs staff. We do have another test coming up this week and potentially one next week, however that is likely marking the end of the season for a little while as we work more towards 2024. 

Going to play a fun match vs a friend who in one year went from a 42 handicap to a 7.6. Given my 6.9 handicap I will give him a stroke and we will see where we end up!

Hope everyone has a good week and looking forward to an important community call  with Matt Blois and just a fun week which includes my wifes birthday!

Good morning everyone!

It's the start of the work week and I'm relaxing in the car preparing to get back in the work groove. It's going to be fun today since I got a new phone and have to set it up for all my work stuff like clocking in. 

It was the most enjoyable weekend I've had in a long time. My wife and I got out and had a couples day that included lunch and shopping. 

@GolfSpy_APH wish your wife a happy birthday for us. We're all thankful she is so understanding of your golf addiction.

Good Monday morning all!

Glad to be back after a long weekend away. Had a wedding Friday that I was in that went very well, even if there was a bit of rain on the day. Had to cut things short as our childcare was shifted around. Still was a good time. Otherwise it was a pretty quiet weekend hanging around the house, making some food, trying to relax a bit.

Good morning Spies on a back to work Monday for me. Looks like a last gasp effort of summer here, as the temperatures are hitting 80 - 85 degrees F the first part of this week. After playing both days over the weekend, looking at next weekend for another round, and maybe some time spent on the practice putting green at the course close to my house after work, just to keep that part of my game in solid shape. Hope that your day is the best it possibly can be, and if golf is in your plans, may your scores be low, and the enjoyment factor high.

Good morning everyone. Coffee in hand thinking back to what was a great weekend. 54 holes of golf, kids baseball, and some great weather. Fall is definitely here now after a brief repeat of summer heat. Next two weeks are consistent highs in the 70s and hopefully it lingers into November as well. Really hoping to get in just a few more rounds before the season wraps up. Not excited about a 5 day work week but we will make it. Just need my coffee.  Hope everyone has a great week ahead.

Good morning MGSpies on a foggy WNY Monday with no problems making to my basement to start the workday  hot coffee about to make its debut and no tee time for me with open mic tonight.  Got the sailboat tarp support ready for the brutal winter wind and snow hopefully still months away but nice to get it done with warm fingers this year.

Good morning all, supposed to be a beautiful sunny week here in western PA with temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Golf Monday through Friday getting ready for our Augusta trip the middle of the month. Hope everyone has a great week of golf and/or practice.

The good news is the weather looks nice here for the most of the week, too, so hope to get a few fall clean up things done around the house and also get some much needed practice time in...

.. yesterday ended up being really nice and did get out for 9 with my wife later in the afternoon. Didn't play that great overall .. irons and wedges need a whole lotta work .. and the late season/late day low sun angles make it difficult to follow your ball...

.. lost a ball on each of the last two holes just 'cuz i couldn't find them even tho I was sure I was looking in the right area...

The bad news is even tho I feel ok I'm still coughing a lot - including last night in the middle of the night which woke my wife up which sucks .. she's still working and gets up early to get ready for school, plus Mondays she has an after school volunteer program so it's an extra long day for her - so I may have to try and go see the doctor...

Anyway hope your Monday goes smoothly for you!!

It’s Monday and I don’t care… Still a great morning my fellow spies. I played well again yesterday. Been a longer time since I played well in back to back rounds. That I played well in the challenging chilly weather conditions of temperatures below 90 ( lying weather people ) on the front nine was quite a surprise. 
   In other news, the Lady of the land was not quite thrilled with my return from self imposed exile. I was promptly sent to solitary confinement. I was also informed that there will be  a monumental regal announcement this morning. 
   May we all succeed in besting whatever this Monday may bring. 
   I plan on taking advantage of whatever time I have left in the “ Husband holding cell  “ by engaging in and meditating/ reflecting on the following:

A bit cloudy 75 degree Central Florida morning.  It appears might get some rain again this morning, after all day of rain yesterday. Fall off to a wet start.  On second cup of coffee this morning, no golf, but working from home.

Good morning Spies, hope everyone had a great weekend! I got to play some golf with my wife, and made some pulled pork last night so I can't complain!

Back on the grind today, will be busy to start my week but planning to get out to play this weekend and enjoy the lower temps. 

Reading the MGS Mental Health banner today and seeing the coming fall weather reminded me to get out and pedal my bike around some more. Perfect weather for getting on the bike with no route in mind, and letting my mind decompress. Hope you all have something similar to unplug and relax.

Good Morning everyone!!  Have a tolerable Monday... especially those who have to work.  No golf for me today; 3 days in a row is pushing my limits while doing PT exercises.  Hopefully I get to the point where I have a freer range of motion through the ball.  Much cooler today with rain showing up after noon... glad I mowed the lawn yesterday.

Not feeling great this morning….though that has been typically happening after playing golf the prior day.   Next doctors appointment today; which I think will be a waste of time since I haven’t done anything since my last visit and his test isn’t scheduled for another 10 days.  Then wait until mid November to see the gatekeeper at the next specialist to do whatever assessments they want to see if I am worthy of setting up an appointment with the doctor.  Sorry for venting but feeling miserable for 3 months with no answers other than “it’s not this” gets frustrating. And yes I know eliminating possibilities is progress

Good morning Spies!

Going to be a busy week at work since we're kicking off the new fiscal year, but I'm also getting excited for a scramble this weekend with @StrokerAce and some family members.

Yesterday was one of those days that resets the positive energy and really was nice since I know this week will be stressful

• played a solid round of golf with my dad.  We actually ended up just being a two-some which doesn't happen as often.
• My mom made stuffed pepper soup which was ready with fresh rolls as soon as we got home
• Fantasy football teams crushed it (sorry @Placasse61 and @STUDque)
• Headed over to @Lacassem's house for some brisket and all the sides which managed to make me not feel bad about the Pats getting blown out.

 

Not much to complain about there!  OH and we also got to see the SUN in Massachusetts for a little while.  That was different!

Good morning all from a back to work Monday morning after a really great long weekend with the family in the Twin Cities. We had a great time at the Great Wolf Lodge and Mall of America, and even stayed late Saturday so the boys could have some extra play time at the pool. Going to be a nice laid back week this week at work as it is an off week for a couple of exercise classes that I teach. Also heading out early at 2:30 to play 18 either solo or with one of my former assistant basketball coaches if he can get out of work early.

@GolfSpy_APH just now seeing your post about the friend who went from a 40 something handicap to a single digit. I may need this individual to teach me their wizardry! 

Hope everyone has a fantastic Monday, and cannot state just how excited I am to see Matty Blois on the call for Thursday. As someone who goes back and forth with self-consciousness and negative self-talk, someone like Matt who has been pretty open about his own struggles with mental health will be awesome to have on the call. Doesn't hurt that he's also a member of the #LeftyGang!

Well, I have been off line all weekend due to PVRing the Ryder Cup and not wanting to see any posts updating me on the progress.

Wow...my takeaway is "these guys are good" some of the shots that were delivered under extreme pressure just took my breath away. Many many clutch shots from both sides had me riveted and many smiles on my face just marvelling at how the shots landed so close ot the hole.

I cheer for the Euros for no other reason that my family roots are Irish and Scottish but it isn't a competition without 2 teams and I do respect the skill set of all those elite golfers from the US. 

My biggest surprise on the Euro side was Victor Hovland, I really didnt know if his psyche would do well under this extreme pressure but he performed like a world number 1 and on the American side, Max Homa, wow, I was so happy for him, he hasn't really shown any form since early in the year but boy did he step up.

Another takeaway is that putting is always the difference and the greens were so pure that if these great putters hit the ball on line it would stay there, and if they weren't putting great it sure showed up. 

Anyway I hope everyone enjoyed the Ryder Cup and have tickets purchased for the Presidents Cup in beautiful Montreal in September.

The Canadian National Senior amateur is in Ontario next year and it finished about 10 days before the Presidents Cup starts hmmmm... might have to think about taking that in, have to talk to "command central" about that..

Good morning! I have been at my new job for a few weeks now and am so happy here. It’s been a roller coaster of a few years and have found a job I truly love and am clawing my way back in to a normal life. Hope everyone is off to a good week

42-7.6, yikes that is one big jump, I am intrigued how that can happen, must be a great athlete, enjoy the match

Well Jason unless you are single, self employed and play quite literally every day and work with an instructor for a year then get a job at a golf shop to have access to GCQuad and everything else it may be quite a task!

He has worked extremely hard and caught the bug hard.

He is solid now, altho we have yet to have a real great match. 

Today we were fog locked for the first 9 and just played with no points or anything. It was another round of only seeing about 10 yards. The 9th hole was the first time we saw a flag on an approach shot.

I won't the back 9 4 & 3. Missed a putt to won the first hole too. He was pretty wild off the tee and I kept everything in the middle and simple. This is where he can make the most improvement is taking away down distance for control. When he connects he is 30 yards or more ahead of me. However it's 1 in 3 or 4 when that happens.

We disagree on putting being the difference.  Looking at the stats tee to green was the separator in these matches.  Take a look at the stats below and you will see that the person that putted best  especially in the singles did not generally win. Sure making a long putt looks great and will generally win a hole, players are separated based on how they get to the green.

I basically already mentioned it, but he was able to achieve this by literally golfing every single day, working with a coach and a serious drive to get a lot better. His swing is funky (think Matt Wolff) however for him it works. He has shown a ton of potential and as with most I would say in this stage is at a range where it would be good to throttle back a little and narrow down dispersion as doubles and worse kill his score card. However when things are on, they are on. 

Should have mentioned that he was also the friend I sold the Ping G430 LST to. It sounds miles better than the G425 Max, but I did still out drive him on a few holes and find about 6 more fairways than him and the G430 LST. Too bad the Paradym TD comes tomorrow!

Good morning fellow golf spies! Had a great weekend spending as much of it as outdoors as I could. The fall foliage is starting to set in and I had a burn pile from old bushes and landscaping to get through on Saturday. Then yesterday I woke up early to watch some Ryder Cup singles action! Congrats to Europe on the fine golfing they displayed!

I was able to get out for a little bit yesterday afternoon and do some putter testing with the Sub70 piece at Yankee Trace GC. Also put a tiny bit of range time in. Can't wait to hit the courses this month. 3 rounds planned.

haha I definitely don't have that kind of time on my hands. That is an incredible feat to accomplish!
