Was gonna ask a question very similar to @Jnoble89 .. e.g. if you're a bogey golfer working on improving your swing mechanics is it better to continue that before getting into speed training? Dr Mackenzie seems to think you can do both at the same time... I have a feeling today is going to just be "one of those days" which I am not looking forward to. I've been hoping since my annual review in September that I'd be in line for a raise and based on an email I got this morning, that is looking much less promising. Frustrating to say the least. Yesterday's community call with Sasho, founder of the Stack system, was awesome. I really had never considered speed training before, not because I didn't think I'd benefit from more speed, but because I didn't think I was in a place with my swing to implement it. After hearing his thoughts on how it can benefit even when working on fixing a swing fault, I am much more interested in trying it out! Yesterday during my stretches my right knee gave out... very painful!! Doesn't look like I will make it until next fall for my replacement. It wasn't bothering me until the cold weather set in, but now it aches all the time; kept me up most of the night. I'm calling the doc later for an evaluation; hate to do it now before our winter trip to Palm Springs and miss golf. We got our first snowfall last night, but won't last too long. Warmer air is coming along with rain. Our 14 year old dog had a seizure at 2:15 this morning. It last a few minutes and then when he comes out of them he is very disoriented. It was over an hour before he was able to settle down. He seems to be back to his old self this morning but a bit on the tired side. He was by my side while I made blueberry pancakes. I had to pay the blueberry tax of course. He is on seizure meds. He last had one a month ago. So we will follow up with his vet and give him lots of loving. He will get an easy walk this morning. Thankfully the temps are in the upper 40s and the snow is mostly gone so he will have good footing on his walk. Please give a little extra love to your furry family this morning. For me with being in the midwest and you up farther north and our limited seasons for golfing. I always find the first couple weeks starting back up in league in spring that my swing hasnt really gotten worse, but the for lack of a better word muscle tone on those specific ones used in my swing have definitely lost something over the break. Im hitting much farther at the mid / end of year than the beginning. If anything hoping itll keep me in playingish muscle tone. I had PRP on my hip and it kept me going for like 10 months until replacement. Or, maybe a scoping procedure prior to replacement could help keep you going? Also, I've spoken with people who've had some luck with the gel injections. I'm going to check on that. I went to the ortho doc a year ago, and they said it needed replacement. I had mild pain then, but I was fine during the warm summer weather. It's hurt more since it turned cold, and yesterday while doing my stretches, IT REALLY HURT! Now it aches even when not moving it. I'd like to put it off at least until after the golf trip. I'd hate to spend the trip riding with my wife watching her play golf. It REALLY started snowing an hour ago. Big flakes... we usually just get powder. I don't think the course will have a weather delay today. The good news is that it's supposed to be 52º tomorrow so I'm not going to shovel the driveway.
