Popular Post BLD7
Good morning MGS! It's gonna be another crappy weather day today. Rain in the forecast and temps in the upper 30s, so miserable and muddy for the most part... The Wolverines won the Big10 championship last night so that was great to see. Will be interesting to see how the committee messes up the top 4 rankings today Early double header basketball today for the youngest then hopefully we will be able to relax and watch some NFL this afternoon. Popular Post Shrek74
Good morning and happy Sunday all you Spies. I'm back at the data center this morning as things didn't go exactly as planned yesterday. We only got about halfway through the change work, but luckily nothing has gone offline at this point which is very important. Hopefully we can get the second half completed today and before the change window ends. Plus I'd like to go home tomorrow and sleep in my own bed. Anyway, wish us luck today for a smoother day than yesterday. Popular Post rkj427
Good morning Spies on another cool and rainy day here in SE Michigan. Did manage to take SWMBO to Carl's yesterday early afternoon so she could pick-up some summer style clothing that was on sale, and I was able to get some range time in there too. Had a holiday party to attend last night at a private golf club here, first time I ever was there and quite impressed with the facilities, seeing how it is located in the middle of a residential area of Rochester, MI. Also found out that a friend of mine, who works for Leader Dogs parents belong, so I may get an invite next season to actually play the course too. Not much on the agenda today, normal household items which need attending too, and maybe see the final round of Tiger's tournament. Hope that your day is the best it can be, and that something golf related or enjoyable is in your plans. PS: I am in agreement with @Dead Solid Bogey on the assessment of simulators, or Top Golf, I would much rather be on a real course than hitting off a perfect lie from a mat into a screen. And I also would like to be able to putt the greens. Popular Post cksurfdude
Good Weekend Morning! My wife is a trooper - she's heading out to the season finale 5K run for a group of 10-11 year old girls - and it's gray and rainy and just yucky out here... ..she volunteer coaches with the local chapter of a national nonprofit, which is aimed at boosting young girls' confidence through a season of life lesson talks plus training sessions for the 5K. Unfortunately there's no backup rain date, and also unfortunately .. as these things seem to go these days .. several girls in the group have notified her they're not coming... So I guess that means I "get to" (well now I do feel obligated) help with finishing all the holiday decorations after she gets back..! Popular Post ParFore74x
Good morning and happy Sunday spies! Slept until 7 this morning which is more than two hours later than the norm so that was cool. I was also woken up by a canine alarm although mine was the triple Yorkie style. They’re not accustomed to me sleeping in either so they get relentless and team up on me. Going to a movie with my wife here in a couple of hours. Her employer buys out the theater for employees to go before the theater is actually open for the day. No clue what we are going to see, I was probably told but do not remember. Daughter has 3v3 indoor soccer starting this afternoon which is fun to watch because the pace is really sped up. We shall see if she allows us to go watch. The girls all make up five person teams from their high school squads but there are no coaches allowed. The whole point of the league is to make the players think for themselves and adapt to whatever situation presents itself. Multiple teams from 8-10 different high schools and it lasts through February/March when high school season starts to get things rolling. I think that I will go roll some putts for a while now, hope that all of you have a great day!! EasyPutter
Good morning MGSpies on a wet soggy overcast WNY Sunday morning in a peaceful house with hot porridge cooling and Lyle's Golden cane sugar syrup ready to turn it into candy. curling with the Veterans is the main event at noon with a trip to RIT and dinner with son before home in forecast rain, yay. Venues like TopGolf, indoor sims, etc @Dead Solid Bogey are a good way to build and extend the sport - what I would like to see (and maybe it is already there) is that those venues are secondary to the Main Event of going out on a golf course for the real challenge of hitting off grass, playing in variable conditions, and the exercise. There are purists in every sport but the mainstream recognizes that more opportunities is always better as long as "new" does not equal "instead of." Chuck @cksurfdude the notion of adverse weather pertains to all sports except for a few and cross country or long distance running are amongst the exceptions. As a high school varsity cross country runner, I loved the bad weather. In fact the worse the weather the more I liked it. We did not have many supporters come out to our races including parents but once the varsity cheerleaders did show up to rally our spirits just before the race which was strikingly impracticable, but we were the only cross country team to have cheerleaders at a meet and that made them awesome! Jamie @GolfSpy_APH if you have snow in your neck of the woods, we definitely need to see photos! Warmer temps are a tease for thoughts about golf here. Snow gone here, mostly gone in the snow belts south of here and sodden ground from 2 days of nearly constant rain, so even if a course was open everything would get plugged aka lost. Kenny B
Good Morning everyone! We had a tee time at 8:30 today, but after the snow on Friday, warm temps and wind on Saturday, the snow is gone and the course opened up walking only. Today, they are open for carts, but it's raining hard... temp 43º and the wind has stopped. The rain is supposed to stop around 11am so my wife changed the tee time to 11:45. Yes, I know I shouldn't go with my sore knee, but honestly it feels a lot better and I had no problem hitting balls in my hitting bay yesterday at my normal (slow) swing speed. I need to get out and walk. I'll see how it goes. I did get an appointment with the Ortho doc for tomorrow morning, so I'll get an update on right knee. Have a great Sunday and sorry for those that can't play due to snow... but Hey! It's pretty! rkj427, Josh Parker, RockerFCC and 5 others 8 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
MattWillGolf
Good morning spies, It’s a wet day in Central NY. 2 cups down and avocado toast on board. Watching the Tiger highlights from the Hero World Challenge on YouTube which is every one of Tiger’s shots. Lots of dialog on the ball roll back in social media. My initial thought was against it but I’ve read a bit on what it entails and honestly I think it won’t affect me. I had a very well thought response from Nathalie Sheehan, a PGA Professional, on one of her posts. The roll back is is intended to reduce the distance by 5%. That’s not much when you consider the distances of average golfers. The numbers show that the average male golfer hits their driver 216 so just over a 10 yard reduction. Yes, I know everyone on social media is over 300 yards . The roll back may help my game. I won’t be as deep in the trees! Wishing all a wonderful day. sirchunksalot, RockerFCC, rkj427 and 6 others 9 Quote CB-P226 Hoofer Cart Bag 0311 Black Ops 8° w/Mitsubishi Diamana S+ 60 0311 XF 3 wood 16° w/Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw Blue 0211 19° Hybrid w/Project X Even Flow Riptide G410 Crossover 4 w/Mitsubishi Tensei Blue Paradym X 6 - GW w/True Temper Elevate MPH Official Forum Test SM9 54°/12° D and 58°/12° D w/KBS Tour 110 ER11v 34” Evnroll ER11v Official Forum Test Shot Scope Pro LX+ Pro LX+ Official Forum Test MTB prime 3.5+
