Coldest I have ever seen was -37 a couple years ago here in Iowa, and the hottest is 127 in Iraq in 2007. I can say without a doubt I'd take 127 time and time again. However, 120 in Kuwait WITH humidity was pretty f'ng miserable. I actually sought refuge inside of a porta-sh*tter with the door propped open because it was cooler than our tent. It's not too bad as far as snow where I'm at, but the chance of Black ice is real. The bad thing is, I get to work Saturday. Whee. Back in 2014 I was living in Birchwood TN and we had a snow storm that dropped about 7 inches of snow and since my job doesn't cancel often, I had to go in on day shift. (We were working swings at the time). I had a 2004 Ford F-150 that had blown the engine a couple of months before and I had to lease a car from work becausei couldn't afford to get the money to fix it since I was trying to buy a house. The car I leased was a VW Beetle convertible and I made it to work after passing by at least 7 4x4's. Granted, my driving would have made my grandmother proud, I don't think I got above 25 mph, but I made it. It never got stuck if you stayed around 25mph. I learned to drive stick in that car when i was about 12. My dad was teaching my older sister and i would go along. He said you may as well learn now too then i dont have to teach you later!
