My dad helped me put together this bag holder for my home Golf Simulator. Came together pretty nice and created a lot more space without having the bags hanging out on the sides with their legs out. Just got to finish the rest of the simulator next...

Nice single length build that I did. I 3D printed plastic weight screws for the heavier irons (PW and 9).

What is the brand of those;  the look nice.   Are those heads designed to be single length or did you have to adjust the weights/lofts to make them work?    I assume the plastic weight screws were to reduce the weight?

They come from Logical One Golf and they aren't designed to be single length. You're correct, the plastic screws were to remove all the weight from the 9 and PW. I used heavier screws in the longer irons like the 4 and 5 to get the weight heavier. Then I adjusted the lofts and lie angles to be correct.

Was it just trial and error or did you have some idea of what the weights and lofts needed to be?

Haven't built any clubs lately other than a couple re-grips. Instead I've built a rifle and been working on my muscle car. I don't know what restrictions if any there are about posting gun stuff.

There is definitely some thought that has to be done to get it right. The 7 iron head weighs 269g so that's the weight you need to shoot for on each clubhead. I took the weight screws out and weighed them to know how much weight they added in total. The plastic screws weigh less than 1g total and are essentially there to fill the holes.

I ended up making the PW about 1/4" shorter just to get the swingweight right and had to add a shaft tip weight to the 4 iron to get enough total weight even with the heavier screws.

The lie angle was easy and the most I had to bend was 1.5* to get them all to 62*. Since they are forged they moved really easily.

I moved a few lofts to get the gaps I wanted.

4 - 37.25" 62* 22.5* D2

5 - 37.25" 62* 26* D2

6 - 37.25" 62* 29.5* D2

7 - 37.25" 62* 33* D2

8 - 37.25" 62* 37* D2

9 - 37.25" 62* 41* D2

P - 37" 62* 45* D3

It was a $2 club stuffed in a kids toybox at goodwill.  Grip was disintegrating in my hands. I attempted a re-grip a few months back on another club, and failed miserably. The head was not in the greatest condition either.

20240310_111018.jpg.e01e80f6c283497f0c3eec800c7b2ace.jpg20240310_111011.jpg.96efead18f32d789e7ad98588838cd14.jpg20240310_111302.jpg.28129682939f5e0f3f40fd6d8914c5dc.jpg

i used a $10 kit (off Amazon iirc) that had the shaft vice clamp, double end hook knife, and 10pcs of single sided grip tape.

20240310_111441.jpg.7993a4118749d3cd82e84efcde61b21a.jpg20240310_112831.jpg.708d6538aa3d03a0aeb7e2d6dcfb0d3c.jpg

I didnt have any grip lube, so i used some motorcycle chain lube that dries tacky. It wouldnt budge past this point, so i grabbed the compressor and trigger tip attachment,  gave it a few blips in the end, and pulled down when it began to ballon.

success! I quicky twisted it into alignment before the lube dried.

20240310_113816.jpg.32ebf59ae799541c8a85a8ad5cf384c8.jpg20240310_113257.jpg.f89997be84db52e17728835c12bcd1e5.jpg20240310_113512.jpg.5ce4487e62be94f40608f23dd00c68bd.jpg20240310_113529.jpg.032dbe40c5f8fdffae26273dbef9b2aa.jpg

Cleaned out the grooves, a soft bristle brush and some elbow grease to revive the head.

Took about 10 minutes on the grip, and about 15 minutes on the cleaning.

Here is my question for the builders in this bunch.

I ordered some new heads that are .370 and doing a full custom build but all the shafts that I am looking at are .355.  Can I shim them and will that hold up?

I have never built a club in my life but have always wanted to and I'm going bold!

The black look good for those I think too. Grips amd ferrules that have the same accent colors as the shaft might be a bonus as well

You can’t go wrong with either of those options, honestly! Pair them with matching grips and ferrules and they’ll be sick. You could even install the shafts logo down so you don’t have to worry about matching the sticker or having it throw off your color scheme.

So they claim the heads are black and white.  I'm guessing its the metal and not white.  It's supposed to be 1 of 1 on the set they will make for the year with that design.

On the ferrules, will I order the hosel size of .370 or the shaft size of .355

I ordered a couple of uncut shafts to do a self fitting for a driver.  The manufacturer specs indicate to cut the shaft from the butt end.  I have bought a hacksaw to cut it with and watched a few YouTube videos. Seems easy enough but wanted to see if anyone has done this before and has any tips.

Shafts come in this weekend I am planning on cutting them down, attaching an adapter and new grip. I’ll post pictures when done.
