It looks like you were getting a lot better numbers with the VF, less spin, better distance and dispersion. 

 

Haha well I had just came from morning service. I just changed out my shirt so I could swing. 
 

The VF is great. I actually went with the Ventus and Hzrdus as I preferred a head heavy feel and that’s definitely not the case with the VF.   After swinging the VF I actually dislike the feel of the other 2.

Yeah, will be interesting to see what your club is doing at impact. My eye mini has impact video for every shot in addition to club data so it’s really educational. Not that I’ve fixed my swing yet

Hope everyone had a great holiday.  Will be heading to the range in the morning to continue working thru the Mevo and testing its different functions. 

I have done the range challenge and gotten numbers from different clubs. I want to test out the side view mode as well as the long drive contest.

Great first impressions! Glad this unit is a breeze to setup! Seems like all have had a fairly easy time with it! 
Hopefully the 19.5 yard shot was a nice little fairway finder for you! Good to practice those too

@GolfSpy_BNG, I didn’t know the app had video features for the Mevo unit. What do the video features in the app do? Swing analysis types of things? Or is it trying to get some club data?

I haven’t gotten it working for me just yet.  Hoping to get it figured out tomorrow after work. I’m guessing it just records your swing for each shot so you can watch it. Soon there is any analysis through the mevo for it.

@jbern while I am not testing the unit, I do have a Mevo and Mark is correct, it records video of your swing that you can then overlay the data onto. You can also draw on the image, so for someone like me who slides a bit in the downswing instead of turning efficiently, I can draw a vertical line outside my front foot let’s say and see how far I am ending up past that instead of rotating to stay closer to that line.

I’m hitting off a 2x2 square mat right now until I get something more permanent and I’m pretty sure that went farther than the ball

I had one of the Callaway hitting mats I bought from Target which had about 14 inches of hitting surface front to back. I put my ball in the middle of that thing and hit so far behind it that I peeled a small section up. 

@Jnoble89 I think it's cool to can get video and integrate the data on it. It seem like it would be a great tool for self analyzing your swing or helpful if one had a lesson for the coach to look at. Thanks for sharing!

I agree! There was a period this last season where I’d hit a drive pretty straight and the next one would be a pull hook, but my swing felt exactly the same! It would’ve been nice to have video like this to see what the differences actually were, even though they felt the same!

That is a great feature!! As you mentioned it will allow you to analyze your swing differently as you can understand what cause to not hitting the ball as we need to! I can wait to see some videos from the crew

I went to the range this morning and figured out how to use the video.  I am trying to figure out why it will show in the app but when I go to the website login, can't find the video anywhere.  

I can edit in the app and add the lines pretty easily and have attempted to email the edited video to myself to share but the lines go away on the sent video.

Another note to self, have the phone in vertical mode and not landscape.  It will let you rotate it to view but won't send that way.

The side view option is animated and is pretty accurate for what you can see on the range.

Was able to get a good session in, my son even joined! Outside of the unit being awesome this is going to be very good for him I think. We took out a few clubs each. For me 2 iron, 8 iron and 48*. For him a hybrid and 9 iron. Set up an account for him so he cant track his own work as well. Used a mix of balls as well between Titleist gamer, Titleist white box test and ODIN. No issues from what I see on what ball you use.

He was making some good shots after working the swing out, its been a little while since he swung a club. He would get about 10 shots in and then we would swap but he kept saying "I need to finish on a good shot"....love that. Looking forward to getting sessions in with him.

I really like the computer page (logged in first time today). 

I took several videos but am struggling to see how to download them with the data on it. The videos saved on my phone but no data. They are not great angles (working on getting a stable setup) but the swapping between video and non is very easy. Also you can use different cameras (front and back on the iphone) easily.

One thing I did notice was the discrepancy on the computer page vs the phone. Both are great setups and easy to look at information but on the computer I am not able to watch the videos? See below the last few shots I did videos on show on the phone and I can watch them but the computer does not?

I tested out the metallic sticker as well today. It really does miss shot data if you do not have the sticker facing away from the unit and towards the screen.

Will be diving into some of the games and contests later on today if not tomorrow so stay tuned!

This may have been covered previously but do you suppose the low spin numbers are a result of range balls, primarily? Also, maybe hitting off of mats as well? I initially saw 5-6,000 spin with a 9 iron and did a double take but it would make more sense with older range balls + turf mat.

Absolutely. I play a 49* PW and only hit it about 100 yards when cold. By the time I'm warmed up, my 56* is 107ish and PW is 125+ depending on how much I thin it

I think those two things play a large factor in numbers for sure. My flight typically isn't that high off turf.  Our course is typically slow during the week so I'm going to take it out with me.

I have yet to figure out how to download the videos with the data overlay, which seems odd that it isn't an available option. I know when the videos are saved on my phone, the data is not there as mentioned. One work around if you wanted to have the data overlayed would be to screen record, but seems like it should be a step not needed to be taken. Maybe that is something they will incorporate to the online account page?

I am seeing those numbers with my 8 iron, I have a lot of spin typically and in this last session I was 5500-7000 spin with my 8 with prov1 and Odin off a mat

I would Definitly like to see it on the computer login. Would take a lot of steps out to have to email it to yourself. Glad I am not the only one. Again this is more app related nothing to do with the unit, everything else I have seen is super simple to use even swapping to and from video and swapping clubs is super simple this is the first “hmmmmm” I’ve had

Agreed. It is the only thing I've seen with it as well that hasn't been the definition of user friendly.

I can get the data overlay in the video.  I don't get the lines and angles to show.

Yep, I don't think of myself as a high spin player by any means but I typically spin a 7 iron 6200-6700 rpm and a 9 iron up in the 8000s on Trackman with an RCT ball. Admittedly, that is a $30k machine vs the Mevo but just trying to determine where the Mevo may make some compromises and I would have guessed it would be spin accuracy.

My big judge will be with my wedges. Thise I have a good gauge on numbers. My 52* should be in the 10-12 range

I never get all that much spin on a LM, Trackman or otherwise but my ball sure does stop fast IRL. I also hit WAY more hooks on TM, Eye Mini, and others I've tried than IRL. Perhaps I have a really bad case of the sim swing blues that has lasted many thousands of balls, indoor golf leagues, and practice rounds. Not sure why. I don't get 10-12 even with a 56*. Actually, I may test that today and see what happens - I do tend to play a crappy ball for wedges as they get chewed up so quickly.

I have a suspicion that it could very well be the range ball too.  They aren't new and the assistant pro has used one before and said he would be interested how the yellow ball responds vs the white he had used it on.  Said he had been told that the yellow had a harder time.

I'm going to take it out on the course with me and see what I get out there for numbers on my gamer.
