I need to bring the second guy with me more often. The additional putt was a big help. But having a second shot on everything really took the stress away and I was able to free swing so to speak. I was able to use my first shot on a lot of holes.  This was a blast and I plan on doing it a couple times a season just for fun.

If your second guy is as good as mine was , you’re going to have some low scores.🤣

I motion we keep this thread open even if we can’t post new scores (that count anyway) after this Sunday. Would be cool to see people continue this challenge all year. Especially as course conditions improve this spring.

I 2nd that motion! I probably won't be able to post a score this weekend, but I'll definitely do it as soon as I can! Or if they MGS VCT crew is open to it, we could do another one later this year.

I wish I could participate in this one.  Here is Key West, it's tourist season, the first of three weeks of Spring Break at Florida and other colleges and our course is content in filling every tee time with every available golfer.   I'd get about three holes in before someone would call the pro shop complaining about someone playing two balls!  I'll give it a shot this summer when there's just us crazy people playing golf down here!

So, I'll just have to play my normal 18 holes with one ball and get my practice in for next week!

The ayes have it, motion carried. I will leave it open. Since it doesn’t affect either season of the VCT, we can leave it open as long as there is interest.

A tale of 2 9’s for me. -5 on the front with an average proximity to the pin of 9 foot max. I was throwing darts.

Back 9 however that jumped to probably over 25 resulting in a 2 over finish.

I didn't think I was going to get to do the scramble but my playing lesson was cancelled due to it still being in the high 30s Saturday morning.  I'm crazy so I wen to the course anyways and imagine, no one else wanted to play in the cold.

With an open course I had plenty of time to take two shots on every stroke. All I'm going to say is I need a few days off from golf at this point. After this round where I basically took 100+ swings, I played another 14-15 holes with a friend, then came back out Sunday for a final 18. All this with 2 pre round buckets of range balls and 1 post round bucket on Sunday.

image.png.ecc4ed6f0bc83b2f1ee744d8702533ba.png

Aside from the choices I made playing this much golf, getting an extra shot at every chip and putt (my weaknesses) really helps. Of course, it also worked out on the long clubs. Case in point - #5. . . Outside of a scramble, I'll never swing that hard with the tee placement I had and hope it stays up.

I was just wondering how long this lasts, when I saw that it locks Dec. 31, 2024? Is that right?

I may be able to squeeze this in after all. 🤣

We will leave it open as long as folks are interested in adding rounds to it.

The system requires an end date for the tournament, so I picked the end of the year, figuring I can adjust accordingly.

Awesome! I feared it was only a week, and rain last Saturday, fitting Sunday, golf Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, tournament Saturday and another round Sunday, I ran out of days this week to try this.

It was a great week, but my playing partners probably wouldn’t have been to keen on the idea of me dropping another ball and taking the best.

Also, the only thing worse than walking across a muddy fairway to get to your ball when it’s cart path only is having to do it twice.

Looking forward to getting out and trying this. May have to use a course different than my home course though since it can be very busy when I normally play
