Had a couple drives at 232, 235 & 242.......shooting a 40/45:85 with 2 Birdies and 5 Doubles on the back nine. Nice drives Foz!! I played my Wilson Triton most of last year, but went back to my Bridgestone JGR this spring with good success. It's a fairway finder. However, after last Saturday's round of missed fairways, I decided to bring back the Triton on Sunday. Although I didn't score as well as I did on Saturday, I hit fairways and had some longer than normal drives. I just didn't putt as well. The good drives carried over to my Monday round where I was outdriving the usually longest player in our group. The Triton is heavy, and there is something about it that feels comfortable when I swing. I'll be keeping it in play for awhile. 00sportsman, MattF, fozcycle and 1 other 4 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”

Siamese Moose
Shot a 78 this morning, which, while not my lowest score of the year, is my lowest differential (6.2). Yay! A big reason for that was pace of play. We had some storms overnight, and it's overcast and threatening, so almost everyone stayed home today. We nearly had the course to ourselves, started at 11:00, in the car leaving at 1:00. Sub-two hours. yungkory
Played 9 in a pretty stiff wind today. Played pretty meh, but at least I didn't hit any hosel rockets which is sadly a feat right now. +8 4/6 FW but the two I missed I blocked right and had to take a penalty on each one. 4/9 Greens most of them short because it just felt like too much to take 2 extra clubs into greens, but I should've done it anyways. 19 Putts :( Started the round pretty strong hitting driver straight down the middle about 270. Went for it in 2 and ended up pin high, but about 25 yards right of the green. Managed to get up and down for birdie, making a nice 15' or so foot putt. Then on the next hole I fatted an 8i off the tee, 3 putted on #3, and knew it was gonna be a crap day. Popular Post golfertrb
Played yesterday afternoon with another of my sons. The weather was beautiful - hot and humid which was perfect for my back (It's cold and rainy today so) and because it was supposed to rain yesterday, I had almost no one behind us. We played at Lincoln Park East in OKC and we had a great time - we were playing for my son's 22nd birthday and I had a plan to give him an older set of MP 57's of mine but I wanted to have him try them first. He has been playing Cleveland 588 MT for a few years and he has wanted something a bit more versatile without losing too much forgiveness and playability - enter the MP 57. I put some new grips on them and asked if he wanted to try them when we played and it was night and day. He shot a career low round of 2 over 72 while hitting 13 of 18 greens! Just incredible! He had three birdies and was actually shaping shots and just LOVING that Mizuno feel When we we finished and he was basking in the glow of forged goodness, I threw him the proverbial keys and said "They're yours! Happy Birthday!" Insert hugs and shouts and so forth - so fun! As for me, I shot 4 under 66, which is good (slope rating is only 67.7 for the tees we were playing) - my last three rounds have been 68,66, 66 so I'm trending in a good direction. Here were my stats: FIR: 13/14; GIR: 14/18; Putts: 29. I am testing the Srixon Z Star and I in particular have used the XV the last two days and wow, did I hit the ball well yesterday. My ball striking yesterday was impressive - I hit some shots I was a bit shocked by. One case in point: the signature hole on the East course is the Par 5 15th. It is a short hole of 480 yards from the back tees and 462 from the tees we played yesterday. It is a dogleg left, downhill hole that has a wide chasm with a creek in the bottom directly in front of the green. It is the 8 handicap hole and requires a good tee shot with trees on the right and left of the fairway. I hit a high draw that left me 101 for my second shot. I hit my 50* to 15ft past the hole and missed my eagle putt by a whisker but that ball performed beautifully. I won't share anymore thoughts just yet but I am really enjoying it thus far. Until next time. cnosil
Golf league night and for the course we played tonight my course handicap is a 2. First hole terrible snap hook, play second off rock back into fairway (no relief allowed), chunk wedge, pitch onto the green and make a 10 footer for bogey. Next hole I chunk tee shot into the water, drop, pitch to right of green, get the ball onto the green and hole the putt for a double. Was really worried since I was unable to hit any full swing swing shot. Amazingly game came together and I shot -1 for the remaining 7 holes to shoot my handicap. 3 fairways, 4 greens, and 12 putts on the round. Team lost mostly due to missing man penalty; If you can't field 6 players the missing man counts as 11 strokes. sirchunksalot, THEZIPR23, Kenny B and 4 others 7 Quote Driver: G400 Max 9* w/ KBS Tour Driven Fairway: TS3 15* w/Project X Hzardous Smoke Hybrids: 915H 21* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype 915H 24* w/KBS Tour Graphite Hybrid Prototype Irons: TR20V 6-11 w/Vizard TR20-85 Graphite Wedge: 54/12D, 60/8M w/:Accra iWedge 90 Graphite Putter: Sacks Parente MC 3 Stripe Backup Putters: Milled Collection RSX 2, mFGP2, Futura 5W, TM-180 Member: MGS Hitsquad since 2017

Popular Post edingc
In-laws treated me today to 18 holes on a new course for me, The Falls at Barber Creek in Kent City. Absolutely beautiful course. Short, but challenging, especially with the wind. Went 45/44 for 89 overall from the white tees, which play around 5,500 yards. Recorded my first ever eagle on the 440-yard par 5 sixth, which is a dogleg right with lots of water. I carried the dogleg over the water and then stuck a 9 iron from 140 to 15 feet. Nailed a big left to right breaking putt. What a great hole and so much fun to record an eagle. Driver was pretty good today, mid irons were good, putting was good, chipping was meh. Sub-50 yards really hurt me today. Probably left four or five strokes out there just around the green. Hit 8/14 fairways and had 5 GIRs. Definitely above average for me and continues my confidence streak heading into another scramble next week. cnosil, MattF, sirchunksalot and 7 others 9 1 Quote Unofficial WHS Handicap: 7.5 / Anti-Cap: 13.0 (Last Updated Feb. 19, 2024) Driver: Callaway Paradym TD (10.5°, -1/N), 45.75", Fujikura Motore X F1 6X | Fitting Post 3 Wood: Cobra RadSpeed Big Tour (14.5°), 43", Fujikura Motore X F1 7X 20° Hybrid: PXG 0211 (2020 Model), 40.25", Mitsubishi Tensei AV RAW White 90X 4 Utility: Cobra KING Utility (2020 Model), 38.5", Aerotech SteelFiber i110cw Stiff 5-PW: Ben Hogan PTx Pro, 37" 7 Iron, Aerotech SteelFiber i125cw Stiff | Club Champion Fitting 50°, 54°, 58°: Edel SMS, V Grind, Nippon Modus 125 Wedge| Official Review Thread Putter: L.A.B. 00sportsman
... The English Lit teacher you were playing with gave you a B+? Actually, I probably would have failed because I didn't properly attribute the quote. (My parents both started as English Lit teachers, by the way.)Let's just say the rest of the round was a big, fat old F. I actually thought of your comments on the "comfort zone" from another thread as the collapse was happening. At least I attributed those comments to you.Sent from my XT1585 using MyGolfSpy mobile app Kenny B, chisag, MattF and 2 others 3 2 Quote I always try to remember that I'm not good enough to get mad!
