juspoole
Played the Par 3 course and was able to walk 9 over my lunch break. Was low 50's and misting a bit, but lack of wind helped a ton. Played very well and got to take the new SM8 for a spin. Had a lot of good shots and was able to hit every green. In regards to putting, even with the greens slow was able to start most balls on the line I wanted and were close enough for tap in range, but did not want to actually tap them in the hole at this point to keep safe. Made 1 birdie from a great tee shot that was 6 feet away. Actually had many tight shots and 4 great looks that were 12 ft or closer. Overall really happy with game from 130 yards and in at the moment and so far I like the new wedge. Popular Post revkev
Played Innisbrook today with Foz, Matt and Sportsman. Innisbrook is known for being home to an odd breed of squirrel - here’s one of the buggers. I told them from the start that I wasn’t keeping score because I was hung over as all get up and worse I knew I’d be constantly interrupted and probably would miss a few holes. We played the NorthCourse which completes the Innisbrook Rota for me. Predictably I did not play well but I had a blast, told lots of stories, got interrupted some and only lost one ball. It was just the needed diversion at this time. Interestingly I’m watching a replay of the ‘18 Valspar. They just said the players would rather face 15 mph winds blowing in one direction than 6-8 that gusted and kept switching directions. That’s exactly what we had, you’d stand over the ball and could never really tell if it was helping or hurting. Finally it was bizarre to drive past Copperhead on the way out and see everything set up for the tournament but no spectators present - when the first round should have been wrapping up. The course that we played touched the 12th and 13th holes of Copperhead. You’d be surprised at the elevation changes. Matt even asked if this was built on the one hill in Florida. Actually there is a sand hill that runs from Palm Harbor up to Lecanto (Black Diamond Ranch) and another such mound West of Orlando (Bayhill). We aren’t talking mountains, we are talking half a club and with swirling winds, indecision. Kenny B
My wife and I played with another couple; first time we have played with them. Nice people. I struck the ball OK today but couldn't score; didn't have the speed right on the greens. I left 4-5 putts short in the jaws; I rarely leave putts short. Still shot 80, so not too bad. I heard a rumor today that our governor is closing golf courses. This might be my last round for awhile. MattF
Innisbrook on Thursday with @fozcycle, @revkev and @00sportsman was a great day. I played OK but more importantly the company couldn't be beat. Here's a few snaps. Played pretty ordinary with Foz on Friday and played like today, but I had a blast with 3 elderly ladies that I was paired with. 3 days in a row is a touch too much for me I fear. cnosil, tony@CIC, Rickp and 6 others 9 Quote In the bag: Driver: Darkspeed X 9° UST Mamiya LIN-Q M40X Blue 7F4 Fairway: Apex UW 19° & 21° Project X HZRDUS Smoke RDX Black 5.5 Irons: JPX 923 HMP 5-PW UST Mamiya Recoil 95 F4 Wedges: T-22 Denim Copper 48°, 52° & 56° UST Mamiya Recoil 95 F4 Putter Sycamore 005 Wide Blade Bag: Fairway 14 stand bag Balls: Chrome Tour Cart: CaddyLite ONE Ver. 8 God Bless America, God save the King, God defend New Zealand and thank Christ for Australia! Jmikecpa
Got in my first and what is my last round (at least for a few weeks) at my club today. Cold and windy in the water but walked 18 and hit it pretty well. The new sticks are doing exactly what I had them built to do. Hit 13/14 fairways off the tee and 14/18 greens. Flighting the ball in the wind is a snap with the new shafts and distance is spot on. Not sure what I shot since this was our cups and didn’t really try and putt all that much. fozcycle
Shot 41/47:88 today with one birdie. Birdie held for $40...Woo Hoo!We did use proxy markers for the Par 3’s. The cups were inverted, making it easy to leave the pin in and retrieve your ball. There were no sand bottles on the carts, no rakes in the bunkers and we collected the cards for calculating the winners with payout next week. We had 33 players today keeping distances and I personal contact. All went well.Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy THEZIPR23, mr.hicksta, Rickp and 5 others 8 Quote Driver: 0311 XF 10.5* w/Project X Cypher 40 gram Senior shaft or 0811 XF 12* w/Evenflo Riptide CB Senior shaft Fairways: 0211 5W & 7W w/ Evenflo Riptide CB regular shaft and Tour Edge E521 9W w/Fubuki HD50 regular shaft Hybrid: None in bag at the moment Irons: Titleist T300 5-PW w/Fubuki MV Senior graphite shafts w/Golf Pride Tour Wedges: Edison forged 49*, 53* and 57* wedges with KB PGI Senior shafts(80 grm).
