Nike Forged Blades

Does anyone know the difference, if there is one, between the clean looking Nike blades with just the single swoosh, and the version with TW on them?

Here's the backstory for the question.....last year I switched to Nike's Full Cavity irons. Don't get me wrong, I like them. But, for the previous 10 or so years I had been playing a set of FEEL Competitor musclebacks. I miss them. I don't play any better with the GI iron than I did with the MB's. I know it's mostly mental, but I want to go back.

The original forged blades with just the swoosh were forged at the old US based Hoffman foundry. The newer ones are from Endo's foundry. The Hoffman blades, IMO, are a much better feeling (see softer) blade and have slightly thinner toplines.

 

If you want something slightly more forgiving than the blades but not full cavity, the split cavity are a great option. There again, I prefer the original Hoffman foundry version versus the new version, but both are great irons.

I want to try them both. I figure I can always sell the one I like less.

 

I know it's superficial, but I like the clean look of the first set of heads, and hope they play the best.

The originals (top pic) are going to feel softer is my guess. The topline is slightly thinner as well. Neither will disappoint you, but I'm betting the originals come out the winner.

I like the "old school" lofts too. They are a full club weaker across the board compared to what I'm playing now.

 

My current PW is 45Ëš and 6-iron is 28Ëš
