Breathable, waterproof rain jacket for warm/hot weather.

Recommended Posts

I'm searching for a rain jacket for playing in our South Texas weather.  So it has to be lightweight, breathable, and of course waterproof.  I would like for it to have a hood, but not a must.

And there is a 2024 review going on as well. No hoods... but a bucket hat will do the job

Galway Bay has a new line as well, it is a bit lighter with improved breathability and waterproofing. Played yesterday in it and as the temps rose and changed I kept the jacket on the whole time.

Would the Galway jacket be good in 80-100 degree weather?

It's not a golf related company, but Frogg Togg makes a nice light hooded jacket. It's fairly inexpensive at like $30 or whatever it is nowadays. I used to keep one packed back when I was a cool kid with motorcycles. You can abuse the crap out of it. It's also packs down really small so you can throw it in your bag. I used to keep one under the seat of my bike.

Thank you for posting this! Houston is brutal right now and I too have been thinking about trying to find a super light weight rain jacket for those quick heavy downpours when I’m walking  a round.

Never would have thought about this brand! I get lost only thinking about golf brands for on the course needs, but remember fishing with my buddy’s dad growing up and he always rocked Frogg Toggs. Definitely going to snag one for the bag. Thanks for the rec here.
