Where to buy drive/wood shafts

Where is a good place to buy new shafts for drivers/woods/hybrids?

Also what are everyones thoughts/recommendations on driver/wood shaft weight if I was fitted for DG 120 S300? My current driver shaft is a Stiff flex 55g stock Ping G425 Alta CB.

The used market on golf forums is always the best option and usually really good at policing itself against fakes. There are plenty of fakes out there so always do your homework and remember if something is too good to be true it probably is.  eBay is also good but they charge ya tax which adds to the cost.  
 

As for a suggestion I’d try to get a driver fitting somewhere. Let them know upfront you won’t be purchasing if you won’t be. This will get you a good idea of what shafts work for you and then you can shop around and find them or similar shafts.  
 

Also don’t get set on what “should” be a fit. I swing 108-113 and can get to 120 if I really go after it and have played shafts in the 40-70 gram weight range and from Regular flex to XX Stiff.  Current shaft is the Aretera Alpha One Grey 65/04 shaft. It’s made by a new company that was founded by the guy that developed the Ventus Velocore.  It’s really good if you get a chance to hit it.

as for a shaft for you your guess will be as good as anyone here. Find a place to test shafts in your driver or get fit will be your two best options to find what works for you

I’ve bought a couple from 2nd Swing that already came with adapters installed…would do again if I decide to change shafts again.

If you are looking to buy new I'm not sure it really matters where you get it.  Most retailers are stuck at MSRP and not allowed to discount so it's going to be the same price just about everywhere.  The used market is a different story and where the deals can be found, but also where you need to be an informed buyer.  I stay away from ebay, but will buy used from golf forum classifieds sections (here and golfwrx) and also a golf club traders group on Facebook.  

Buying new at MSRP though can be done at any local fitter or a ton of different places online.  

Also if you want used but reputable without the hassle of dealing with classifieds I'd recommend mikesgolfoutlet.com

It actually does because some will charge for the grip and adapter. Peoplesclubs has it included in the price

This isn’t entirely true. If you find the right guy(I lucked into it) you can get new for substantially less than most places. For Most big retail places it’s probably true though.

eBay and Golfworks are where I live for shafts these days, new and used.

I'm a fan of the 50-60 gram range for driver shafts. I play DG120's now. 60g driver, 70g 3/5 wood, 90g hybrids. Swing weigjtatters more for that transition into irons.

Like others have said, Ebay and GolfWorks. Golfworks also has OEMs get rid of shafts so they do specials to get them pushed through, it's how I got my Project X shafts at $25 each

I'd add grips4less to that list.   They're handy for me since they're based in the San Fernando valley and they'll let me pick up directly from the warehouse.

Very true, I was just trying to keep it simple. I got a brand new Ventus black TR 6x folds of honor edition with an adapter but uncut for $230 when I lucked in to the right guy who was a dealer through the Facebook golf club traders group.  

There's definitely deals to be had but it's many times a matter of finding the right person and they don't advertise because of MSRP restrictions.

Check out ProClubs and Mikes Golf Outlet. This is where I have seen the largest collection of shafts for average to low prices. As a gear head/tinkerer I have put some awesome builds together thanks to both of these sellers. They also have pretty good trade-in programs which include shafts.

If you are willing to change out adapters, Callaway Pre Owned will throw discounts up quite a bit.

If you're on Facebook, there is a golf shafts BST group. I am a part of that and have done some trades on shafts through there. Just make sure with any private sale the person can verify they actually own and have the shaft in hand. So many scammers out there anymore.

I got mine at the golf shop I got fitted at, but now that I know what shaft profile I like, I would be more open to trying to find some on Facebook groups, facebook marketplace, wrx, and other forum based sites with private sellers.

Victory Custom Golf is where I have bought half a dozen shafts from Ken, thats who you need to ask for as he will get you into the right shaft
