It happens so infrequently with our group - it really wouldn't matter how it is done. There would be lots of high fives and beer consumption afterward.

I heard of a great hole in one bet between two guys I played with recently. If one of them made a hole in one while playing with the other, the one who made the shot gets to buy the club of their choice, paid for by the loser. I wonder why no one will make that bet with me...

That almost makes more sense. Played with a guy who after his first hole in one gave the clubhouse bar his credit card to buy a round. Guys were buying sandwiches and all kinds of stuff. $450 hole in one.

It is almost unlucky to get one in a situation like that.

On the hole-in-one topic: has anyone gotten some sweet stuff from their OEMs after their HIO? I know that many companies will send you a bag tag or something like that if you make an ace with their product. If you've got something, show it off!

I got a nice plaque from Callaway for my hole in one with both one of their clubs and one of their balls. I had to send in some certification attested to by my pro and the people in my group.

 

IIRC, Titleist will supposedly do the same.
