When do you think he will be back? The masters is my guess. And do you think this is what he needs or should he try to play through the failures he's been having?

I think the leave will be good for him. It's got to be tough to play as poorly as he had in front of all the crowds and to have the media all over you for it. It'll give him more time to try to get the mental stuff together too. And he'll still play his way through the swing issues. He just won't do it publicly. Hopefully he'll get back in good enough form for the Masters. He's absence will surely be felt.

For some time now, it seems his comebacks have always coincided with an event he's hosting or some other sponsor-related thing, and its been a failure. He better take all the time he needs, as it appears he needs a fair amount.

I think a majority of his issues are mental which only he can really fix. I don't believe he thinks he has a mental problem though which will make the fix that much harder.

Let's hope he finds a way back for the masters.

This may be it for regular, competitive golf for Tiger.

 

Once the Mojo is gone, the pit of despair can be great for those who have tasted the magic.   No one in golf ever had Mojo like Tiger had it.   He was Superman with no kryptonite.   Nowadays he may shout "Up, Up and away!" on the first tee, but there's no lift-off.   

 

While he might be able to play in some fashion, will he really want to grind if he thinks he can't leap tall buildings anymore?

Agree. I think he will give it one more shot. If it doesn't go well, I think he's done and will call it a career, until he is old enough for the Senior's Tour.

I hope he works his butt off and doesn't come back until his game is rresentative of the great player he once was. Nicklaus won 3 majors after age 40 because he never forgot how to win. He is the ultimate example of playing to strengths, drive it in play, get it on the green, hole some putts, don't do anything stupid while everyone around him crashes and burns.

Tiger has a horrible vocabulary from what I've seen of him over the years. Everything is "nice."
